This research paper explores the impact of the Spanish Influenza outbreak in Madras, India, during the early 20th century. Despite the staggering loss of life caused by the outbreak, little information about its impact and vaccination history has been recorded in administrative, health, vaccination, and sanitary reports. Through the examination of primary sources, including historical accounts, medical reports, and official records, this study seeks to fill this knowledge gap and better understand the impact of the Spanish Influenza in Madras. In addition to analyzing the impact of the outbreak, the paper will compare and contrast the Spanish Influenza with the current COVID-19 pandemic. The results of this research could provide insights into better pandemic preparedness and response in the future.

This article describes the concept of using buzz group in classroom to enhance cooperation among students. Buzz group can be alternative method employed by educators (teachers or lecturers) to maximize small group work classroom activity. Buzz group can be applied by students to solve problems given during learning activities. By using buzz group, it is expected that each students has chance to share information each other in a small group work. Thus, the students can be acknowledged for their individual and group strength when they explore a topic given in a limited time.

Businesses are increasingly paying closer attention to a company's capacity to influence social and environmental change in a positive way. In addition to helping a company, identify risks and opportunities that could affect its long-term success, sustainability reporting is essential because it can increase transparency and boost a company's reputation. Environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, as well as the opportunities and constraints that arise along with them, are of increasing relevance to financial institutions. Banks are essential for promoting overall sustainable development since they act as a funding intermediary for fiscal and development programmes. Through ESG reporting, investors can assess a company's environmental, social and corporate governance policies and how these aspects are governed. ICICI Bank is one of such financial institutions that routinely reports on sustainability. This case study aims to look at ICICI Bank's sustainability reports and annual reports for the fiscal years 2019-2020 to 2021-2022 in order to explore the significant ESG initiatives and the level of important ESG disclosures made by the company. SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis has also been conducted in order to evaluate the factors affecting ESG performance. Based on the findings, ICICI Bank is in the process of implementing sustainable business practices that promote the organization's long-term sustainable performance that have an advantageous influence on both the environment and society. Through business strategies and moral corporate conduct, the bank strives to promote long-lasting and sustainable economic growth.

This study assesses the awareness of digital educational platforms among students of Gujarat University and identifies their advantages and disadvantages. A sample of 100+ students was selected using stratified random sampling, and a structured questionnaire was used to collect quantitative data. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and a multi-response test, and ethical considerations were adhered to. The study found that digital educational platforms are gaining popularity among students due to their advantages, such as flexibility and easy access to relevant content. However, network and connectivity issues, cheating, and lack of interaction with instructors were identified as disadvantages. The study suggests the need for further research to understand the impact of these platforms on student learning outcomes and for educational institutions to explore ways to integrate them into traditional educational systems.

The article examines the relationship between Indian agricultural policies and media representations during the Cold War. Drawing on archival research, the authors argue that the Indian government’s agricultural policies were shaped by a complex interplay of domestic and international factors, including the country’s growing population, the need for self-sufficiency in food production, and Cold War geopolitics. The authors suggest that the media played a crucial role in shaping public perceptions of Indian agricultural policies during this period. They argue that the media, both in India and abroad, often portrayed Indian agriculture as backward and inefficient, and highlighted the country’s dependence on foreign aid to support its food production. At the same time, the authors note that there were also alternative voices in the media that challenged these dominant narratives and called for a more nuanced understanding of Indian agriculture. These alternative voices included journalists, scholars, and activists who argued that Indian agriculture was undergoing a transformation, and that the country had the potential to become a major food producer in the world. The authors suggest that these diverse media representations had important implications for Indian agricultural policies. On the one hand, negative media coverage reinforced the Indian government’s commitment to self-sufficiency in food production, and spurred it to pursue policies aimed at increasing agricultural productivity and modernising the sector. On the other hand, the authors argue that the media also had a more critical role to play in holding the government accountable for its policies, and in promoting a more nuanced understanding of Indian agriculture. They suggest that this critical function of the media was particularly important in the context of Cold War geopolitics, which often shaped the international aid and development programs that supported Indian agriculture.

The present paper attempts to explore the ecocritical connotations of the selected poems of Emily Dickinson, a prominent nineteenth century American poetess. Nature is one of the most favorite subjects of Dickinson. More than 100 poems based on the same put the stamp upon it. The love for nature made her produce poetry which is no less than that of romantics. Although ecocriticism developed as a literary field in the late twentieth century, the world of nature had already begun to go through deterioration way before that. Women Empowerment was arduously made a trend in India through improved plan of actions in various sectors like women’s financial independence; healthy maternal life; delegated domestic work; and liberation from abuse. This progress in 2020 was encountered by COVID-19 pandemic whose incessant spread necessitated women to lock themselves at home to be safe. Leaving only twenty percent women in paid economy, pandemic seized their employment and income, thus making them financially dependent. A demanding realm for women was created all the time by people at home resulting in unlimited unpaid domestic chores and no time for ‘rest and self.’ Disrupted medical services soared Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) by 35.4 percent besides unsafe abortions, less hospital deliveries and high-risk pregnancies. The spread also provided perpetrators a chance to abuse women which got portrayed through 47.2 percent hiked domestic violence, sexual harassment, abduction and cyber-crimes. These marring circumstances denied women of their rights to healthy life and dignity. Measures like work from home, strict legal actions for abuse, providing employment, and shared domestic chores must be practiced in post-pandemic times to re-achieve the milestones of women accreditation and help women accomplish overall well-being.

In order to comprehend how schoolgirls, search for menstrual information, it is necessary to measure their information-seeking behavior. WHO has prescribed three important factors as their primary source of information, A scale has been developed to measure the menstrual information seeking behavior of the school girls in Tamil Nadu to collect empirical data. KMO test was performed to evaluate the significance of each factor and factor analysis was done to classify the factors under three important Factors. These three factors were Mass Media, Organization and Community and Interpersonal. Cronbach’s Alpha test was also performed to check the reliability of the data. Parental consent and students’ consent were obtained before they fill the questionnaire and it was presented before PSG Medical College ethical committee and obtained its approval. This scale development is a part of Indian Council of Medical Science Research (ICMR) funded project.

The author of this article analyses the algorithmic impact on public participation in the decision-making process and its effects on democratic principles as recognized under the Constitution. Democratic principles are implemented through the Institutions of civil societies, and civil societies have problems with internal and external contractions and trust issues. In the contemporary world, it is observed that the government is silent on public opinion on several of its decision. This silence of government gives rise to several questions, such as – In a democratic setup, to what extent public can participate in the decision-making process of government? To what extent government can curb the voice of people with the help of assisted technologies such as internet shutdown and filter bubbles? What are the possible legitimate ways a government can be accountable for its actions?
