The interaction between China and the US is examined since the current head of the Chinese state – Xi Jinping – came to power. The separate characteristics of the China policies adopted by the Obama, Trump and Biden administrations are examined. China's position and main concepts of foreign policy are discussed as well. The main factors of disagreements between China and the US are discussed. The geopolitical rivalry in the Indo-Pacific region and the Taiwan issue are defined as the two main reasons for the escalation of relations. The dangers of the conflict between China and the US and the necessary factors to reduce the tension are examined.

Thousands of people are employed in the construction field in the countries with both, advanced and developing economies. It is characterized with: constantly changing operations at construction sites; extended chain of contracts, where the relationship between the contractors, sub-contractors and self-employed individuals is hard to ascertain; various jobs concurrently performed by various companies; majority of operations accompanied by high level of risk. Therefore, this is a priority sector for the labour inspectors across the world. Proper and relevant measures are required to prevent any possible risk to the maximum degree when work is performed at height and damage can be caused (e.g.: the use of protective rails). Personal protective equipment for working at height must meet the following demands: a) Linking equipment should be manufactured of pressed or formed steel or similar material; b) The linking equipment should have anti-corrosion ends and a smooth surface to prevent damaging the system components. Personal protective equipment for working at height must provide for arresting the falling employee at 1.8 m height above the ground surface. Body harness, other equipment and components should be used for the employee safety protection only. Their use for lifting/handling other materials is prohibited.

The topic refers to the analysis of the current process of expanding the scope and area of scientific research. Internet technologies have changed the political, economic and social reality. Today, security mechanisms became a combined target. The data indicate that the challenges related to unpredictable dangers led to the need to make serious socio-political decisions at all levels, including the need to implement political, legal, economic, military-defense and social measures, to develop new normative regulation systems. Accordingly, cyberspace problems emphasized the role of researchers in various fields of science and expanded the scope and area of academic scientific research. It has become urgent to increase the involvement of Georgian researchers in the ongoing scientific-research processes in this direction. At the same time, there was a need to clarify the use of terms by Georgian researchers in the study of cyberspace problems in the socio-political context. In particular, after the transformation of cyber security as a technical problem into its socio-political task, into cyber security, i.e. when the content of activities changes in order to avoid increased dangers, it is necessary to use the terms in the context of the field of social sciences, as the changes refer not only to activities related to security techniques, but also to human, socio-political activities of society and the state, planning and implementing socio-political events (policy development, concept, planning, etc.). Separation of this problem for research suits the needs of the current situation in social sciences. Accordingly, a specific contribution has been made to the research of strategic assessments of possible trends.

The experimental results for establishing the optimal parameters of coal silt enrichment on an improved screw like separator is discussed. Controlling and disturbing impacts on the process have been established during the preceding research. Controlling impacts are the rotation frequency of the screw like separator motor and the vertical oscillation amplitude of the separator screw, i.e. vertically acting force; Disturbing impact is the density of coal silt to be enriched. The dependence of the controlled quantities – tailing quality (ash content) and output on controlling impacts has been established and corresponding graphs have been constructed. The dependence is nonlinear, with a distinct maximum. Based on the analysis, optimal variation margins of the rotation frequency and vertical oscillation of the central axle of the screw like separator have been established, within which we will obtain maximum ash content of the enrichment process tailings as well as maximum output of the tailings, and therefore the maximum quality of the concentrate. The connection density between the controlling and controlled parameters has been evaluated according to correlational ratio. The obtained results indicate the validity of the experimental results and the research.

A kinematic analysis of the pericyclic mechanism, where the gear is internally engaged with fixed central wheel is presented. Geometric features the trajectory of the mechanism allows use of this type of mechanisms in machines, which provides such kind of technological processes where slight fluctuations of the driven link sometimes are necessary at the extreme position of the system. Mechanisms of this type are used in the light industry, where the processing of any tissue requires slight fluctuations of the executive body at the temporary position.

Reduction of soil erosion is one of the main issues of modern engineering ecology. It should be noted that this problem is caused not only by natural factors, but also by peculiarities of some irrigation methods. The article considers the issue of erosion of earthen channels of temporary irrigation network under gravity irrigation. On the temporary irrigation network of three villages in Shida Kartli region of Georgia the amount of erosion was experimentally determined and its dependence on network parameters and soil conditions was established. As a result of this work, to reduce soil erosion (scouring), it is recommended to install canals with compacted crosssection.

The appropriateness of teaching design thinking to architecture students in Georgia is discussed. Design thinking is a user-centered method that was developed about 60 years ago and is widely used in almost all areas of design, including architecture. Leading architectural firms embrace design thinking. This method also has many opponents, who complain about the lack of creativity, its collective work, and more. In contrast, advocates of design thinking argue that design thinking approaches do not necessarily limit creativity, and that contemporary architecture has become so complex that specialists of only one field cannot account for everything. It is interesting that the main opposition to this methodology was met in the country where it was born – the USA. As for Georgia, the survey of students conducted by the authors of the article at the International Design School of the Georgian Technical University found that the majority of them have a positive attitude and intend to use design thinking in their future activities.

At least two parties are involved in any relationship. It is the same in banks – both parties have their own interests. It is in the interest of the bank to get more profit from any transaction, and in the interest of the client – less loss. Until recently, banks functioned only in their own interests. Even now, Georgian banks either do not consider the interests of clients at all, or consider them minimally. According to a special study, the satisfaction of clients in Alpha and Beta banks of Georgia is only at an average level, and some components of satisfaction are at an even lower level. This refers to the appearance of sympathy and consideration for the client on the part of the bank's representative. It is concluded that evaluating the quality of service of Georgian banks, the factor of customer satisfaction will be evaluated as a weak point. Banks should strengthen their efforts in this direction, because customer satisfaction leads to their loyalty to the banks, which is a necessary condition for achieving their long-term goals.

Figurative-ornamental relief samples of artistic processing of Racha stone of the 10th century are united in three individual workshops of different chronological stages on the basis of artistic-stylistic similarity. In the decoration of these monuments, including stone iconostases, it is worth noting the diverse ornamental repertoire built on plant-geometric motifs. Of the above mentioned, several characteristic motifs of plant ornament of Racha stone iconostases of the 10th century are presented. They are discussed in the context of comparison with parallel materials of other modern Georgian monuments. On the basis of comparative analysis of the monuments of Italy, Croatia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Egypt in stone, wood material and stucco of the 8th-9th centuries, the issue of the existence of foreign analogies of decorative motifs used in Georgian examples is confirmed. Which, in a broad historical-cultural context, should indicate the links of Georgian art of the 10th century with modern Eastern and Western civilizations and, accordingly, the mutual influence of artistic trends characteristic of the era.

Media and culture, two influential and important spheres of public life, have a long history of coexistence. There is no media art and no art without media. It is especially important to research the forms of impact on the formation of public consciousness in these areas, as well as the results. British media theorist Dennis McQuail in his work Journalism and Society notes that all theories that study the relationship between media, culture, and society, despite conceptual differences, agree that the media can serve to liberate and unify society, as well as to fragment and divide it – both development, advancement and retreat. Despite a kind of indeterminacy, the media, which shapes and reflects society, is the main message about society. (McQuail, 1992) Culture and art are a fundamental part of public life, which creates values, develops and strengthens public relations, together with the media, forms public consciousness. “Political confrontations and wars do not cause a cultural crisis, but, on the contrary, incompatibility, aggression and wars are the result of a cultural crisis” - this conclusion of European researchers is a kind of postulate, which says everything about the role of culture in the process of improving society.
