Batik SMEs who have successfully sold their products through e-marketplace are now entering a new stage. They need the management of financial data from sales to bankable accounting reports. All existing e-marketplaces in Indonesia are only providing visitor statistics and sales reports without providing any features for accounting reports. The problem is the ability of the SMEs to make financial statements only uses simple calculations based on income, expenses, and notes on debt and accounts receivable. This habit has been carried out for years, causing difficulties in obtaining the detailed financial information needed by financial institutions and for business development purposes. The integration of accounting software into e-marketplaces should be added to facilitate SMEs who lack the ability to make financial reports. This feature is expected to automate financial statements until the report can be approved by financial institutions. This paper reviews the availability and possibility of the digital payment system in e-marketplaces to provide embedded accounting features, open access to integration of accounting software from third parties and propose suitable model for SMEs.

Mobile application has been widely used as a learning aid in education. It could be the best learning service for adult’s learner. The benefits of mobile app include increasing learning accessibility, reducing learning costs, promoting lifelong learning and many others. However, early studies have reported that there are challenges in promoting mobile learning due to the readiness of the users. Therefore, this project aims to conduct a comparative study by examining the students’ readiness towards the use of mobile application in learning. The investigation will focus on 100 students from UTP, Malaysia and Uhamka, Indonesia. Questionnaire has been distributed using random sampling method. The results have shown that there was no significant difference between the two samples, hence, it can be concluded that both students from universities are ready for the use of mobile learning.

Mobile data traffic volume is growing on a large-scale which creates a data traffic overload problem on current cellular networks. To facilitate these growing demands for mobile data traffic volume in next-generation cellular networks such as 5G, the concept of device-to-device (D2D) communication has been introduced. D2D communications have been shown to improve power efficiency, spectrum efficiency, throughput and delay by maximizing the system’s capability in cellular networks through enabling multiple devices to communicate with each other directly. Despite these benefits, D2D communication faces some open research challenges ahead, for instance, security, cooperative multi-hop D2D communications, transmission scheduling and power control and power efficiency. This paper presents a review on the possible threats and the existing security solutions in D2D communications.

Blockchain is a distributed immutable ledger supporting strong secure transactions across various nodes in a Blockchain network after the mutual consensus of all the nodes in the associated network. Blockchain technology is the foundation technology of various crypto currencies. However, it has the potential to contribute to several mission-critical applications (MCA) or real-time applications such as Healthcare, e-Voting, Government Regulatory to securely regulate business processes or to identify any fictitious business transaction. Unfortunately, Blockchain implementations in MCAs are still being challenged by rigorous requirements. The most pressing among these challenges is scalability. The performance time in the current consensus model (related to scalability) is still questionable, especially in MCAs. That is, the model is lacking in high efficiency in many aspects such as transaction throughput, transaction latency, network bandwidth, and storage, despite strong reliability (in terms of advanced security and privacy) through an immutable shared distributed ledger. Hence, there is an exigent need for a new consensus model which could mitigate the scalability issues in MCAs. This paper is therefore aimed to propose a scalable consensus model to improve the scalability issue in MCA by improving the node syndicating time. This contribution is to elevate MCAs (other than Bitcoin)to positively impacting on social/business environment.

The paper presents a single integrated platform to connect all the organizations at the time of disaster to manage the disaster more efficiently and quickly. At the time of any disaster, the whole system is thrown into chaos and is disorganized. This leads to various mistakes and loss of communication between the parties who are responsible for managing the disaster. By providing a common platform for everyone to communicate, we can avert many mishaps and provide an effective relief to the disaster, allows us to reduce the cost of damage, helps us to save more lives and provide better support. We propose the idea of using cutting edge technologies to make this happen.

Data concept drift is reported as one of the critical performance degradation phenomena in Machine Learning, especially for volumetric data. Besides, the concept drift annotation is also one of the major research problems in the said domain. In this paper, a novel approach for data concept drift detection is presented. Moreover, the performance after removing the instances with concept drift is also compared with the original dataset on various machine learning algorithms. Specifically, the concept using Euclidean distance in clusters and the mutual information of an instance refer to the degree of concept drift of the instance. The said approach has been employed on the SEA dataset

In 2030 Vision for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, one of the most critical issues is improving the manual and traditional health clinic system that will provide faster, efficient and quality healthcare services. The objective of this study is to understand the manual system used by a university clinic in Saudi Arabia and propose an automated system to realize the benefits of e-Health that started few years ago. Utilization of Android Mobile technology for clinic management and providing of care services will improve the general efficacy of the corporation, and the efficiency of the clinic by reducing wasting time experienced by patients. It also will help to provide patient care, manage clinic staff and patient data, manage and recall information encountered by the usual hospital system. We distributed a survey to collect information from students and clinic employees of several universities in Saudi Arabia to develop user requirements in the system. We developed our proposed system using JAVA language in the front-end connected with the back-end software. Also, we used tools such as Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP), and My Structured Query Language (MySQL). This automated system provides multiple patient services and will improve the information infrastructure.

Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) is used to automate answer matching especially in the education sector. OMR marking machine is costly and limited to specific OMR paper design, thus launching researchers using image processing to find less costly solutions. However, studies so far have achieved relatively low accuracy and poor consistency unless a fixed OMR form design is used. Accuracy drops with more OMR questions. Therefore, this study investigate means to improve OMR marking accuracy using enhanced algorithm designed for OMR marking. The results were compared against manual marking as the control and existing image processing algorithms. The metrics used are F1 score and error percentage for accuracy of detected answer options and marking fault respectively. The result is encouraging with consistent full accuracy for up to 90 questions as compared to previous works.

Structural degradation takes place in pipelines with the passage of time. Hence. The restoration of proper functioning of these pipelines requires these defects to be identified and localized. Acoustic emission (AE) is a powerful non-destructive evaluation (NDE) technique for the detection of defects. Acoustic emission signals contain a significant amount of noise. In this paper, machine learning technique has been used to accurately classify and localize the corrosion defect. Experiments were performed on a 10’’ steel pipeline to show the relationship between the location of the corrosion defect and the acoustic emission signal. The results show that by using SVR, corrosion defect can identified and localized. This method is capable of providing a reference value for the real-time pipeline monitoring being operational in status, with broad application prospects.

Automated annotation and classification of chest radiographs is the pressing need for modern biomedical technologies. This is mainly because of the massive volume of radiograph archives. The variants of machine learning models have handled this issue of automated disease annotation. However, the performance is found to be constrained due to the visual attribute dependency. Here, deep learning has come into the focus to submit the contribution for effective and efficient automated disease annotation. In this paper, a new variant of a deep learning network (DLN) is presented for automated annotation. Moreover, the exhaustive parametric comparison of the variant with the classical network and the pre-trained network is presented. The Chest X pert dataset is considered for this comparative study. The simulation results advocated for the effectiveness of devised variants.
