Speech Act Politeness in Asking and Answering Questions in Discussion of Students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 内格里伊斯兰学校学生讨论中提问与回答的言语行为礼貌

This research was encouraged by the lack of an explanation about the language politeness of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri (MTsN) students in Bariang Rao-rao. This study was aimed to describe the form and strategy of politeness in speech acts in asking and answering questions in classroom discussions. The data collection method was a referral method, with advanced techniques, namely simak bebas libat cakap technique, recording technique, and note-taking technique. Data were analyzed by using the following steps: data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and re-checking. The results of the study showed that the speech acts in the form of asking question that frequently used were speech acts in the form of questions that asked for information about something or someone grouped according to 5W + 1H using negative politeness strategy in the context of a quiet speech situation, sensitive topics, and speaker with speech partners had similar age. Furthermore, answering speech acts that tend to be used were speech acts answering in the form of answers in providing information about something or someone grouped according to 5W + 1H using a positive politeness strategy in the context of quite speech situation, the topic was not sensitive, speaker and speech partners were the same age.

The Rhetoric of Persuasion of Ustadz Abdul Somad: Discourse Analysis in the Media Youtube 苏马德的说服修辞:媒体Youtube的话语分析

Rhetoric is the art of speaking or language processing skills that can give an impression on the hearts and minds of those who listen. Religious lecture is an object of rhetoric that draws attention to research because in the religion there are many persuasive speeches. Focus of this research in this study is the persuasion techniques used by Ustadz Abdul Somad in religious lectures on the Youtube media. Research data was collected by downloading videos via Youtube, then transcribed into written text. The sentences that contain elements of persuasion are analyzed to identify persuasive techniques used by Ustadz to influence worshipers. The theory used is Aristotle's theory and is reinforced by Searle's illocutionary speech act theory. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with recording techniques as a method of data collection. Data that has been collected is then analyzed. The results of this study found that sentence techniques used by Ustadz Abdul Somad were: (1) direct persuasion, such as; (inversif sentence); (2) indirect persuasion, such as (declarative and interrogative); (3) the use of majas, such as: (rhetoric, metaphor, cynicism, tautology, hyperbole, sinism, simile, and anticlimax).

Struggling for International Publication: The Potential Rhetorical Problems for Indonesian Scholars in Social Sciences and Humanities when Writing in English 为国际出版而奋斗:印尼社会科学和人文学者在用英语写作时的潜在修辞问题

Indonesian faculty members and postgraduate students are encouraged to publish their research results in reputable international journals such as those published in English. This is to boost the participation as well as prestige of Indonesian scholars in the eyes of international scholars. However, the majority of scholars in Social Sciences and Humanities find it very difficult to succeed in international journal publication. This paper is aimed to present several potential problems experienced by Indonesian scholars in preparing their research article (RA) manuscriptin English before submitting it to a main-stream journal. The data in this paper were obtained from relevant discourse studies on RAs in Indonesian and English written by Indonesian scholars. The results of these studies suggest that the most serious problem for Indonesian writers in Social Sciences and Humanities is in writing argumentative abstract, introduction and discussion sections. Unlike international authors, Indonesian authors tend to write these sections descriptively although their research topic and findingsare interesting and important. They also tend to justify their research projects only by practical problems and rarely discuss their research findings in relation to the results of previous studies found in the literature. It is believed that if they can write convincingly argumentative articles the possibility of their manuscripts to be accepted by a prominent international journal will increase.

Using Solfeggio Learning Model in Teaching University Students in West Sumatera, Indonesia 视唱练耳学习模式在印尼西苏门答腊大学生教学中的应用

The problem of this study was rooting down from the students music learning circumstances, of which they had low skill and knowledge of solfeggio, low ability of transforming solfeggio into a new context, made the lecturer rather difficult to teach them thereof, it is a compulsory to select proper methods and proper model of learning that can enable him tailoring the knowledge towards the learners. To overcome the problem, the researcher design a model of learning solfeggio which enables the lecturer to empower them to transfer the knowledge to the learners. The basis model of development is using ADDIE model. This research belongs to R & D research. The subject of the research is the students of art and music department, FBS Padang State University. The instrumentation of data gathering was using interview, questionnaire, tryout, written-test. To analyze the raw data to see the level of reliability and practicality the researcher used the formula of Rho Spearman Brown, and the result is that robtain 1.2 exceeds r-table within significance level of 95% (0.05) it is 0.349 or by (0,01) it is 0.449. To prove the effectiveness of the product of this research ( the model of learning solfeggio ), the writer distinguish the data of pre-test to post-test by calculating the scores the students obtained by using match t-test, and the result is that t-obtain 9.311 exceeds t-table 1.697.it means that, the model of learning solfeggio as the product of this research is much more effective significantly since the result of the match t-test is so high exceeding the number of the t-tab. It can be concluded that this model is very useful for the lecturers and the students as well in learning solfeggio at the music department of FBS Padang State University in academic year of 2016/2017.

Enforcing Linguistic Intelligence Method to Activate Students’ Literacy in English Economic Subject for Islamic Banking Department 运用语言智能法激活伊斯兰银行系英语经济学科学生的读写能力

Activating students’ different kinds of intelligences is not easy for the educators in teaching English. Most educators focus on arousing students’ cognitive domain only. In fact, the students just comprehend the material based on the text book. They, however, cannot analyze the current information about economic they find in their daily life. While Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No.49/2014 about National Standard of Higher Education demands the educator to enable students to mobilize all intelligences they have which is in line with Bloom taxonomies, namely; cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domain. To solve the problems, the researcher applies MultipleIntelligences method for ESP students of Economic Faculty at IAIN Bukittinggi for English economic subject in which involve the three domains of skill with. The purpose of this method is to activate students’ verbal/linguistic competence. As a result, these materials are effective to prompt students’ multiple intelligences, especially linguistic competence. Ultimately, the SKL of higher education, which include attitudes, knowledge, general skill and specific skills, can be achieved.

Grammatical Cohesion of Conjunctions in Short Story Collection Kompas March 2014 Edition 短篇小说集《Kompas》中连词的语法衔接

Writing short stories is very concerned about the relevance of the content so that the stories made can be understood and liked by the reader. This will be seen in the relationship between lines, sentences, and paragraphs which can be realized in one form of cohesion. The linkage of content in the short story is the basis of the researchers to conduct research on the grammatical cohesion of conjunctions. This study aims to describe grammatical cohesion of conjunctions in short stories collection Kompas March 2014 edition. This research method uses descriptive methods. The results of this study were found to be coordinative conjunctions, subordinative conjunctions, correlative conjunctions, intersentences conjunctions, and between paragraphs conjunctions. However, from these findings, there were several improper conjunctions, namely intersentences conjunctions, and between paragraphs conjunctions.

This will be seen in the relationship between lines, sentences, and paragraphs which can be realized in one form of cohesion. The linkage of content in the short story is the basis of the researchers to conduct research on the grammatical cohesion of conjunctions. This study aims to describe grammatical cohesion of conjunctions in short stories collection Kompas March 2014 edition. This research method uses descriptive methods. The results of this study were found to be coordinative conjunctions, subordinative conjunctions, correlative conjunctions, intersentences conjunctions, and between paragraphs conjunctions. Teaching Listening through Islamic Storytelling in Indonesian Junior Secondary School Context 印尼初中背景下的伊斯兰故事听力教学

The objectives of this research were to find out whether or not the use of Islamic storytelling is effective in improving students‟ listening comprehension and to find out the students‟ interest during the process of teaching and learning through Islamic storytelling. The study employed mix-method design. The participants of the study wereeight yearsstudents of Al-Akhyar Islamic School. The data were collected by using listening test, questionnaire, and interview. The gathered data from listening test was tabulated and calculated by using t-test in SPSS program, while the collected data from questionnaire and interview were analyzed using Likert scale and open coding. The results of the study showed that the Islamic storytelling group outperformed the general storytelling group in posttests and it was indicated by the result of the t-test value (0.00 <0.05). It proves that the use of Islamic storytelling in learning listening was effective to increase students‟ listening comprehension. Moreover, the result of the questionnaire indicated that students were highly interested in learning listening through Islamic storytelling. Further analysis through interview revealed that there are four main reasons that foster the students‟ interest in learning through Islamic storytelling: learning through Islamic storytelling is a fun and interesting activity; the selected story is suitable with the student‟ needs; the story contain meaningful lesson which relevance with their life as a Muslim; and the existence of an illustration pictures.

This Research is aimed to describe the development of Nusantara Arts-Based Fine Arts Appreciation learning model in cultural arts subjects to enhance the aesthetic experience of eighth-grade junior high school students. The main data sources in this study were 20 culture arts teachers from 20 junior high schools in West Sumatra. The technique of data collection was done through observation techniques, interviews, learning outcomes and literature studies. This study used a qualitative approach with data analysis using the development of learning models using fishbone analysis " This is divided into 3 stages, namely: stage I: Preliminary Study, Phase II: Model Development Stage, and stage III: Model Evaluation / Testing Phase. The results of the study showed that the development of a Nusantara Arts-Based Fine Arts Appreciation learning model of cultural arts subjects to enhance the aesthetic experience of eighth-grade junior high school students was very much needed to be a reference in the learning process. In other words, with the development of this learning model, the teachers in improving learning outcomes can motivate students, so that students are not bored with the learning that the teacher gives.
本研究旨在探讨在文化艺术科目中发展以努沙tara艺术为基础的美术鉴赏学习模式,以提升初中生的审美体验。本研究的主要数据来源为西苏门答腊省20所初中的20名文化艺术教师。数据收集技术采用观察法、访谈法、学习成果法和文献研究法。本研究采用定性方法,利用鱼骨分析开发学习模型进行数据分析。本研究分为3个阶段,即:第一阶段:初步研究,第二阶段:模型开发阶段,第三阶段:模型评估/测试阶段。本研究结果显示,开发以努沙达拉艺术为基础的文化艺术科目美术欣赏学习模式,以提升初中生的审美体验,是非常需要在学习过程中提供参考的。换句话说,随着这种学习模式的发展,教师在提高学习成果的过程中可以激发学生的积极性,使学生不会对教师讲授的知识感到厌烦。
