Rhetoric is the art of speaking or language processing skills that can give an impression on the hearts and minds of those who listen. Religious lecture is an object of rhetoric that draws attention to research because in the religion there are many persuasive speeches. Focus of this research in this study is the persuasion techniques used by Ustadz Abdul Somad in religious lectures on the Youtube media. Research data was collected by downloading videos via Youtube, then transcribed into written text. The sentences that contain elements of persuasion are analyzed to identify persuasive techniques used by Ustadz to influence worshipers. The theory used is Aristotle's theory and is reinforced by Searle's illocutionary speech act theory. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with recording techniques as a method of data collection. Data that has been collected is then analyzed. The results of this study found that sentence techniques used by Ustadz Abdul Somad were: (1) direct persuasion, such as; (inversif sentence); (2) indirect persuasion, such as (declarative and interrogative); (3) the use of majas, such as: (rhetoric, metaphor, cynicism, tautology, hyperbole, sinism, simile, and anticlimax).

Writing short stories is very concerned about the relevance of the content so that the stories made can be understood and liked by the reader. This will be seen in the relationship between lines, sentences, and paragraphs which can be realized in one form of cohesion. The linkage of content in the short story is the basis of the researchers to conduct research on the grammatical cohesion of conjunctions. This study aims to describe grammatical cohesion of conjunctions in short stories collection Kompas March 2014 edition. This research method uses descriptive methods. This article aims to reveal and explain the impact of the Cooperative Script method in learning the art of music at SMK 1 HiliranGumanti. In fact, all this time students' learning outcomes in music art subjects do not meet the standard values set by the HiliranGumanti Vocational High School, this is due to one of the methods that are not yet relevant. Therefore, one method that is considered relevant is the Cooperative Script method. Researchers assume that the Cooperative Script method can have an impact on improving student learning outcomes in music art subjects. The research method used is descriptive method, the data is collected by interview technique, in which the questions are directed to the problem of using the method and its impact on the results of learning music. In addition to interviewing the data was collected through observations, namely observing the ways of learning and student responses from the use of the method. Document data is obtained from student test results. The instrument is the researcher himself and is equipped with a test form and observation guide. Data analysis is carried out with a flow such as data collection, selecting data, exposing data, testing data and summarizing the results of data analysis. The results of the study found were that after the teacher applied the Cooperative Script method, the impact obtained was an increase in learning outcomes. Increased learning outcomes are proven through the results of test documents, and from observations of the teaching and learning process conducted by the teacher. Although the increase only occurred to 19 students, of the total 26 students in class X SMKN 1 Hiliran Gumanti. Keyword: The results of learning music and Cooperative Script methods

Activating students’ different kinds of intelligences is not easy for the educators in teaching English. Most educators focus on arousing students’ cognitive domain only. In fact, the students just comprehend the material based on the text book. They, however, cannot analyze the current information about economic they find in their daily life. While Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No.49/2014 about National Standard of Higher Education demands the educator to enable students to mobilize all intelligences they have which is in line with Bloom taxonomies, namely; cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domain. To solve the problems, the researcher applies MultipleIntelligences method for ESP students of Economic Faculty at IAIN Bukittinggi for English economic subject in which involve the three domains of skill with. The purpose of this method is to activate students’ verbal/linguistic competence. As a result, these materials are effective to prompt students’ multiple intelligences, especially linguistic competence. Ultimately, the SKL of higher education, which include attitudes, knowledge, general skill and specific skills, can be achieved.

The objectives of this research were to find out whether or not the use of Islamic storytelling is effective in improving students‟ listening comprehension and to find out the students‟ interest during the process of teaching and learning through Islamic storytelling. The study employed mix-method design. The participants of the study wereeight yearsstudents of Al-Akhyar Islamic School. The data were collected by using listening test, questionnaire, and interview. The gathered data from listening test was tabulated and calculated by using t-test in SPSS program, while the collected data from questionnaire and interview were analyzed using Likert scale and open coding. The results of the study showed that the Islamic storytelling group outperformed the general storytelling group in posttests and it was indicated by the result of the t-test value (0.00 <0.05). It proves that the use of Islamic storytelling in learning listening was effective to increase students‟ listening comprehension. Moreover, the result of the questionnaire indicated that students were highly interested in learning listening through Islamic storytelling. Further analysis through interview revealed that there are four main reasons that foster the students‟ interest in learning through Islamic storytelling: learning through Islamic storytelling is a fun and interesting activity; the selected story is suitable with the student‟ needs; the story contain meaningful lesson which relevance with their life as a Muslim; and the existence of an illustration pictures.

This research is motivated by the lack of tourism promotion in Merangin District, Jambi Province, the lack of information on tourist sites / locations in Merangin District, which has an impact on the number of visitors / tourists, and the tourism sector is currently one of the important aspects in regional economy. Therefore we need promotional media that can provide complete, clear, interesting and easy-to-implement information in the form of designing this user interface so that it is expected to increase the number of visitors, visitors who want to be secretary are not confused with the existing tourist information. And if many tourists / visitors who come to Merangin Regency indirectly increase regional income, the economy of the surrounding community is elevated, such as the owner of transportation, hotel, lodging and merchant services. The problem of this study was rooting down from the students music learning circumstances, of which they had low skill and knowledge of solfeggio, low ability of transforming solfeggio into a new context, made the lecturer rather difficult to teach them thereof, it is a compulsory to select proper methods and proper model of learning that can enable him tailoring the knowledge towards the learners. To overcome the problem, the researcher design a model of learning solfeggio which enables the lecturer to empower them to transfer the knowledge to the learners. The basis model of development is using ADDIE model. This research belongs to R & D research. The subject of the research is the students of art and music department, FBS Padang State University. The instrumentation of data gathering was using interview, questionnaire, tryout, written-test. To analyze the raw data to see the level of reliability and practicality the researcher used the formula of Rho Spearman Brown, and the result is that robtain 1.2 exceeds r-table within significance level of 95% (0.05) it is 0.349 or by (0,01) it is 0.449. To prove the effectiveness of the product of this research ( the model of learning solfeggio ), the writer distinguish the data of pre-test to post-test by calculating the scores the students obtained by using match t-test, and the result is that t-obtain 9.311 exceeds t-table 1.697.it means that, the model of learning solfeggio as the product of this research is much more effective significantly since the result of the match t-test is so high exceeding the number of the t-tab. It can be concluded that this model is very useful for the lecturers and the students as well in learning solfeggio at the music department of FBS Padang State University in academic year of 2016/2017.

Everything left by ancestors in the form of moral teachings, values, and philosophical reflections will be very useful for future generations. However, centuries later, these relics are no longer known by the younger generation. Everything involved it will certainly be unique character and become the most appropriate for those who produce them. Works related to this subject have been widely written and obtained for several years. This paper would like to offer an old method initiated by Erwin Panofsky (1955) to convert the Jago temple relief into children’s literature. This children’s story can later be enjoyed as a popular discourse and informative local history. This work is expected to attract reading interest, especially children with the basis of local stories. This qualitative research applies iconographic methods which require pre-iconographic and iconographic. After the relief has been interpreted, then the resultant meaning will be converted into an overview of a story plot, developed in units of events so that it becomes a complete story. Through this paper, moral values can be disseminated more methodically. Furthermore, the breakdown of intergenerational historical relations can be improved.

This article is the result of anthropology research using ethnographic methods. Discusses global and local culture contestation in the performing arts in the Walisanga Islamic Boarding School Situbondo. The findings of this study indicate that this Islamic values spread (dakwah) is a method of Islamic education by means of traditional culture in the form of art. Wali Sanga Islamic boarding Schoolin Situbondo has kinds of arts which are hadrah, tabbhuwȃn, and syi‟ir Islam. These Islamic traditional arts contest with cultural industry in globalization era. These kinds of arts become cultural power for Madurese people in Situbondo, and identity of Situbondo city as santri city and earth of Shalawat Nariyah. In globalization era, Situbondo identity with its traditional Islam shows its commitment to Indonesian national value, openness to social reform and global-national cultural values interact to local culture.

This study aims to describe the criticizing speech acts in the Indonesia Lawak Klub (ILK) program in trans 7. This type of research is qualitative using descriptive method, that is, each data collected will be presented and described according to the data encountered in the speech of the speaker and the spoken opponent. in the Indonesia Lawak Klub (ILK) program in Trans 7. Another method used in this research is the method of text and language analysis, namely content analysis. The object in this study is the use of language used by speakers and speech opponents in the Indonesia Lawak Klub (ILK) program in Trans 7. The source of data in this study is the speech event of the presenter and resource person when interacting in communication. Based on the results of research and analysis of the data on speech acts criticizing the Indonesian Lawak Klub (ILK) program in Trans 7, the following conclusions can be drawn. 1) the strategy used to speak critically, 2) Based on the function that does not say criticize the Indonesian Lawak Klub (ILK) program in Trans 7, 3) The message is implied based on conversational implications or implicative statements. Implicative is about what might be interpreted, defined, or intended by the speaker.
