Professional development must be carried out to increase the value of quality and the professional welfare of functional workers in government institutions. Professional development efforts can be made by writing published scientific papers (KTI). The existence of scientific work becomes essential and is a prerequisite for those who want to improve the hierarchy of ranks and positions in government institutions. Scientific works published in scientific journals on behalf of individuals and groups that discuss social and public relations phenomena can be used as the performance standards barometer for government public relations functional employees to get income incentives. This study aims to identify and explain the instructional communication strategies and motivations of the Iprahumas Training participants in writing scientific papers. The research method used is the form of a survey in the form of a census of all participants of the training in writing scientific papers, namely the public relations institutions who are members of the Indonesian Public Relations Official Association (Iprahumas). The data collection technique was carried out by giving questionnaires to the participants, which were equipped with observation guidelines, interviews, and literature studies. Research shows that the motivation of Iprahumas scientific papers writing training participants is still low, namely 71.4% are unable to write scientific papers. That is because participants have limited knowledge and experience writing scientific papers in scientific journals. The participants tried to be able to implement communication strategies in the form of continuous technical guidance regularly with mentors through the WhatsApp social media group. The study's conclusion showed that the participants' understanding of scientific writing through scientific writing training was still low, which had implications for the participants' motivation to decrease. Only a few participants prepared the type of scientific article writing during the scientific writing workshop.

COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia has impacts on disabilities. The private sector can help empower them through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). SIRCLO is one company that initiated CSR with Difalink through the #BelajarBarengMentor Program. During the implementation, several problems were faced by SIRCLO and Difalink, even though the proper implementation of CSR can benefit the company. This study aims to determine (1) How the Plan, (2) How the Implementation, (3) How the Checking, and (4) How the Evaluation in the Implementation Management of CSR in the #BelajarBarengMentor Program with analysis using the Hohnen CSR implementation model (Plan, Do, Check, and Improve). The method used is a qualitative descriptive study with data collection through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The validity of this research uses source triangulation. The study's results revealed similarities with the Hohnen model. On (1) Planning, assessment, and strategy development were initiated, but the research needed more depth and detail. On (2) Implementation, focus on program development and execution, but there are some technical problems and exposures. On (3) Checking; it had not been conducted effectively, and on (4) Evaluation; there are several evaluations and suggestions, such as the need for solid planning and a dedicated team. The suggestions given are (1) Planning; conducting in-depth research, (2) Implementation; making alternative implementation options based on research, (3) Checking; conducting the monitoring according to the concept of CSR, and (4) Evaluation; conducting solid planning and create a dedicated team for sustainable plans.

Disaster management is needed to minimize the impact of disasters. It aims to prepare and educate people living in disaster-prone areas to be better prepared to respond to the impact of disasters. Sumbawa Regency is an area prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, fires, landslides, and others. The Regional Agency for Disaster Management (BPBD) of Sumbawa Regency is to implement a program called "Desa Tangguh Bencana" to improve disaster mitigation management in Sumbawa. This study aims to determine the communication strategy of disaster mitigation planning by BPBD of Sumbawa Regency, early 2020–2021. This study uses descriptive methods and data collection techniques by observation and in-depth interviews with the initiators of the program and their effectiveness in tackling the impact of disasters. The study results showed that communication strategy is the main point of successful program implementation by selecting communicators with scientific credibility, expertise, professionals related to disasters, and good public speaking skills. The targets are the village government and, of course, the people who directly feel the impact of the disaster. A communication platform is used to introduce the program to the community using face-to-face meetings such as outreach and campaigns through social media, using a website network to reach the general public to get information regarding the program's presence. The content of the information submitted in this program is information related to disaster mitigation, stages, and implementation carried out by BPBD in dealing with disasters for people whose living areas are often affected by natural disasters.

Extensive cultural exchanges between ethnicities in the global environment are inevitable, Indonesia included, especially in Educational Institutions. This study aims to evaluate the cross-cultural interaction between Indonesian and International students who enrolled in the same academic environment at Universitas Padjadjaran. It examines cultural distinctions between Indonesian and International students, lecturers, and academic staff. A qualitative approach with case-study methods on cross-cultural communication between Indonesian and International students at Universitas Padjadjaran is applied in this study. The data is collected through interviews with 26 participants, 13 international students of KNB Scholarship 2021, 10 Indonesian students studying at different faculties, and three academic staff at Universitas Padjadjaran. This paper discovered several cultural elements, which are languages, fashion, and cuisine variations, that lead to the development of the international students learning process. In the first year, international students struggle with the cultural gap during their studies. However, they dealt with communication issues through several methods and strategies for an international student to adjust to local culture from the culture shock they experienced at the beginning of their academic journey.

This article describes communication experiences of niqab female students in dealing with societal stigma. Being part of an Indonesian citizen with a majority Muslim population, however, does not necessarily make the niqab a widespread understanding without any stigma from the community. The purpose of this study was to identify and understand the motives of veiled female students in using the niqab, the meaning of the niqab for veiled female students, and to find out how veiled female students overcome the stigma of society. This article uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data was collected through indepth interviews and observations with research subjects selected based on purposive sampling technique as many as 7 people. The validity test of the data is done by using member check technique. The results showed that the veiled female student motive was divided into two stages. The first is the reason for using the niqab because of trauma, following trends, often taking studies, and because of association. The second is the hope of using the niqab which is divided into six categories, namely expectations of parents, friends, mate, work, the surrounding environment, and the hereafter. The niqab’s variety of meanings for veiled female students is as a reminder, a barrier, a protector, and as a medium to subdue men’s views. In overcoming the stigma of veiled female students, they did five forms of settlement, namely, giving explanations, letting people go, removing niqab in certain places, changing niqab with masks, and proving with good character.

Jika orang tua bersepakat untuk menggunakan satu bahasa dalam membesarkan anak-anaknya, pada sat itu, budaya dari bahasa yang diajarkan juga harus dijelaskan. The research was conducted using qualitative-descriptive methods. The research was conducted in Ciamis Regency, West Java and five sub-districts were appointed as observation areas. Collecting data has used participant observation techniques through introspection, in-depth interviews, and document review. In this research, the data triangulation technique was used to test the stability and validity of the collected data. The results showed that: (1) communication patterns that exist in interethnic Sundanese-Javanese marriages in Ciamis Regency are unidirectional adjustment patterns, midpoint compromise patterns, alternative adjustment patterns, and mixing patterns; (2) linguistic problems in interethnic marriage has focused on a family decisions and policies regarding what language was used as an instrument of communication and what language was used in bringing up and educating their children. The marketing communication for the album “Romansa Ke Masa Depan” is a successful digital marketing strategy by generating a high number of digital streams and the highest nominations in the AMI Awards. This study aims to find out how integrated communication is on the album “Romansa Ke Masa Depan.” The research uses a qualitative approach through case study research methods. Based on the research results, Integrated Marketing Communication is the approach taken by management and this album is the first album released by Glenn Fredly in digital format. The main message conveyed to the audience in the album release is implemented with various media, such as album cover design, music videos, narration used in album release, and various other messages that are displayed implicitly or explicitly. Bumi Entertainment as management and Good Music as a well-integrated label have carried out their respective functions in album release as well as with external parties. The integration of platform and content helps management in running consumer IMC digitally. The Instagram platform is used to persuade the audience to then access the main content of the album on the digital streaming platform and YouTube channel. The release of the album “Romansa Ke Masa Depan” was well integrated and helped the management get a high number of digital streams and the album received nominations and awards from the AMI Awards and Citra Cup. Integrated Marketing Communication is an appropriate concept to be applied to the music industry which is now in the era of digitalization.

Knowledge sharing is formed when every member in the organization shares knowledge together to express opinions, ideas, criticisms and comments to other members. Gunadarma University is one of the universities that has implemented cloud meeting and UGTV collaborative learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, resulting in an increase in knowledge sharing using Whatsapp and Line. This study aims to analyze the supporting factors for knowledge sharing in the Gunadarma University student community using Whatsapp media and Line groups during the Covid-19 pandemic. The methodology of this research is quantitative using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), AMOS and Computer Mediated Communication Theory to analyze the data collected using questionnaire with Likert scale of 1-5 to Gunadarma University students. The study population was students of the Faculty of Communication, Gunadarma University and the research sample was 741 respondents consisting of men and women aged 18-24 years. The sampling technique is purposive sampling with the criteria of Gunadarma University students who routinely did knowledg sharing.. The results show that social interactions occur and outcome expectations affect knowledge sharing to fulfill their need for knowledge, and the usefulness of community influences the intention to share knowledge continuously. Meanwhile, social interaction does not affect the usefulness of students and knowledge sharing does not affect the intention to share knowledge on an ongoing basis. The distance restrictions imposed by the government as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic have made WhatsApp groups and Line groups important and useful in seeking and sharing knowledge among students.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat besarnya pengaruh personal branding Ridwan Kamil yang terdiri dari roles, standards dan style pada sikap siswa SMA Kota Bandung pada Gerakan Pungut Sampah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survei eksplanatori, yang bertujuan untuk menjelaskan hubungan sebab akibat diantara variabel-variabel penelitian dengan pengujian statistik inferensial path analysis. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Kota Bandung yang melakukan dan melaporkan Gerakan Pungut Sampah melalui akun twitter @GPSbdg dan @BDGcleanaction setelah dilakukannya sosialisasi. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik penarikan sampel cluster random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 102 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel personal branding Ridwan Kamil yang terdiri dari roles, standards dan style secara keseluruhan berpengaruh terhadap sikap siswa SMA Kota Bandung pada Gerakan Pungut Sampah. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa personal branding yang dimiliki oleh Ridwan Kamil mampu menggerakkan dan membentuk sikap siswa SMA Bandung untuk berpartisipasi aktif dalam program Gerakan Pungut Sampah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, hendaknya Ridwan Kamil perlu menjaga dan mengevaluasi personal branding yang dimilikinya. Hal tersebut dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah personal branding yang melekat pada dirinya sudah efektif dalam menunjang keberhasilan program yang dijalankan. Selain itu, penggunaan personal branding sebaiknya digunakan oleh semua individu dalam kehidupan sehari-hari secara praktis dengan tujuan pengembangan diri. Selanjutnya dimensi personal branding dalam penelitian ini hendaknya mampu dijadikan alat untuk membangun personal branding yang positif pada masing-masing individu.
