Protecting equipment and objects from fire in warehouses and industry premises is essential due to a high number of people present, valuable equipment or inventory and possibly dangerous goods. It is mostly often conducted by using smoke and fire sensors along with extinguishing systems. Still, in facilities with valuable inventory and equipment, it is also necessary to protect equipment from damage caused by water. This paper proposes a multi-agent robotic fire extinguishing model consisted of autonomous robots divided into two groups: Patrol Robots and Fire Extinguishing (FE) robots, called PR-FER model. The main methodology of the PR-FER model is using small patrol autonomous robots as a surveillance robots that will first map the surveillance area, determine the patrol paths, and conduct surveillance according to the predefined schedule. They are equipped with the devices for detecting fire and high temperatures such as RGB, IR and Thermal Imaging cameras and various sensors. Furthermore, they will have high capacity batteries which will enable them a long autonomy. In case of a detection of too high temperatures and fire, patrol robots would map the dangerous location and call FE robots to extinguish it. The FE robots are more robust and heavier robots equipped with fire extinguishers. During the fire extinguishing procedure the patrol robots would notify the fire department and enable them a video streaming in order to get an early awareness of the situation on the field.

For speech signal transmission to be efficient and successful, which implies that the quality of the speech signal on the receiving end is satisfactory, it is crucial to ensure sufficient bandwidth and transmission speed. In this regard, Visible Light Communications (VLC) could represent an adequate solution for speech signal transmission over visible light. Error detection and correction are digital communication techniques commonly applied for the reliable transmission of digital data over noisy communication channels, and their application in VLC is of great importance. In this paper, the quality of the speech signal transmitted over the VLC system is assessed using the Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality (PESQ) and the Virtual Speech Quality Objective Listener (ViSQOL) metrics. The Hamming and Reed-Solomon (RS) channel coding techniques are analyzed, and experiments showed that using both coding techniques resulted in a speech signal quality improvement.

New forms of communication are created as a result of the advancement of information and communication technologies, particularly the Internet and the WWW. These technologies introduce technological solutions as a response to ongoing difficulties. Relying on the predominant written form, besides its semantics, content on WWW must convey additional information like its structure, formatting, and relationships between its parts. Markup languages were born. Although markup languages addressed the issue at hand, they also raised several new issues, one of which is how to exchange material between disparate markup languages. In this paper, creating a meta-model of the two most commonly used markup languages, Markdown and HTML, is shown. The meta-model is created using the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) ECore model, which relies on grammar obtained from markup languages. This meta-model simplifies comprehension of the relationship between markup language content and its model, which represents the first step towards the automatic transformation between models, i.e., the interchange of their content.

One of the most important issues in large-scale agile development is achieving efficient team planning and coordination. Combining the overview and predictability of long-term planning on a team level with the flexibility and adaptability of agile development is the promise of hybrid approaches to traditional and agile development. Agile techniques have been promoted to reduce project risks, increase output and improve product quality. The research idea presented in this paper relates to scrum methods, further demonstrating how to focus on decision-making or information sharing while adapting agile approaches to large projects and software product development programs in medium-sized enterprises. By using certain modifications, this approach can also be applied to large multinational companies.

In this paper we present real-time pixel level video fusion implemented in GStreamer framework as a plugin. The processing is performed in two steps. The first step is image registration, which is compensation of the effect of different viewing angles and perspective of two cameras that are observing the same scene. The second step is pixel-level fusion using Laplacian pyramid method or simple addition. The OpenVX standard is used to accelerate the algorithm. We also present experimental performance results of video fusion of thermal and visible light camera.

This paper presents the results of the regional cooperation of the Adriatic-Ionian (AI) countries (EUREKA Project Partners) aimed at the joint development and harmonization of regulations and procedures in the field of navigation safety. Specifically, the modernisation of the ADRIREP system developed through the EUREKA Project is presented, with specific emphasis on the technical solutions. The starting point targeted an upgrade of the single shared system through the enhancement of the maritime traffic monitoring system in the Region, which would reduce excessive administrative workload and the redundancy in data collection. The idea is to test the implementation of the Sea Traffic Management (STM) within the national VTMIS systems, as well as to establish the Maritime Safety Permanent Transnational Network, anticipating further expert cooperation between the national administrations from the AI Region.

Although factory planning is widely recognized as a way to significantly enhance manufacturing productivity, the associated costs in terms of time and money can be prohibitive. In this paper, we present a solution to this challenge through the development of a Software-in-the-loop (SITL) framework that leverages an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) in an autonomous capacity. The framework incorporates simulated sensors, a UAS, and a virtual factory environment. Moreover, we propose a Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) agent that is capable of collision avoidance and exploration using the Dueling Double Deep Q-Network (3DQN) with prioritized experience replay.

In this paper, we develop a novel simulation model for fading over the land mobile satellite (LMS) channel. Using this model, we generate fading samples that have given first and second-order characteristics. We demonstrate the accuracy of the developed simulator by confirming the analytical results for the probability density function (PDF), level crossing rate (LCR), average fade duration (AFD), and autocorrelation function (ACF) of the fading envelope.

Supervised Multi-view 3D reconstruction algorithm based on ground truth data has great limitations in data acquisition cost and method promotion. Several unsupervised 3D reconstruction algorithms have even achieved similar results with supervised MVSNet series algorithms. We continue the work on the basis of previous research. Our DB-MVSNet includes two main tasks: first, the model introduces two parallel branches including depth estimation branch and semantic cluster branch. Secondly, we introduce normal depth in depth estimation branch, and adopt NNet network to realize the consistent propagation. The experimental results show that DB-MVSNet improves the overall performance of unsupervised 3D reconstruction algorithm.

One of the most pressing problems in transportation nowadays is road congestion. Congestion and inattention due to constant haste are one of the main sources of road accidents. Rapidly evolving electronics have made it possible to equip our vehicles with wide variety of small, reliable and accurate sensors. The occurrence of V2X enabled vehicles and infrastructural elements to share their data thus a complex image can be constructed about the state of the traffic. Our paper presents a novel traffic congestion system that compares both supervised and unsupervised models. The presented system detects congested road sections and forecasts congestions based on previous sections. The system reaches up to 96% accuracy.
