This study aims to analyze the progress of science in the Islamic intellectual tradition, especially in the realm of kalam and philosophy with the framework of Charles Peirce's Pragmatism. Changes in the logic of thinking in contemporary philosophy brought about by pragmatism requires a dynamic relationship between belief and doubt to encourage the logic of inquiry. This study is a literature study using the framework of pragmatism in highlighting the development of the intellectual tradition of kalam and philosophy in Islam. With this framework in mind, this study shows that the Islamic intellectual tradition also brings the spirit of progress of science in pragmatism framework. Doubts that arise from various statements that arise encourage Muslim scientists to criticize and conduct further research so as to make scientific contributions to Islamic scholarship. Various models of scientific development ranging from positivistic styles, falsification, knowledge revolution, to scientific research program methods provide discourses in the development of Islamic scholarship, both in the realm of kalam and Islamic philosophy so that they can be in line with the needs of the times.

This study aims at the Islamization of contemporary Western concepts related to self-actualization that has been secularized. By using a comparative analysis method between the views of Western philosophers and Islam, this study finds several points. First, actualization according to Western philosophers is having skills in cognitive, affective, and psychological aspects, but still materialistic. Second, the self-potential in the Western view is one's desire for phenomenology. Third, self-actualization in Islam is different from the West, not materialistic, but contains sacred Islamic values and can lead individuals to a perfect position or Insan Kamil. Fourth, Insan Kamil in Islam can be embodied through the actualization of self-potential or nature which is completely untouched by western concepts.

Artikel ini membahas tentang legalitas penafsiran al-Quran generasi Tabiín. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana peranan generasi Tabiín dalam bidang tafsir al-Quran dan sejauh mana legalitas tafsiran mereka dalam khazanah tafsir al-Quran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kepustakaan (library research), yaitu jenis penelitian yang semua datanya berasal dari bahan-bahan tertulis, seperti buku, naskah, dokumen dan lain-lain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peranan para Tabiín dalam bidang tafsir sangatlah signifikan, pasalnya banyak tafsiran mereka yang sampai pada abad ini dan dijadikan rujukan oleh para mufasir generasi berikutnya; tafsir Tabiín bisa diterima jika diantara mereka terjadi kesepakatan makna. Sedangkan jika terjadi perbedaan penafsiran, maka pendapat sebagian mereka tidak bisa menjadi argumentasi bagi yang menyelisihinya dan tidak juga bagi generasi setelahnya, sehingga langkah yang harus ditempuh adalah mengembalikannya ke makna bahasa Arab secara umum.

This qualitative research aims to describe religious activities and reveal the values of character education in the religious activities of the Kadolokatapi community. The research approach uses normative, pedagogical, sociological theological data. Data were collected through instruments used by the researchers themselves as key instruments, observations, interviews, and documentation of the religious activities of the Kadolokatapi community in 2020. The data were then analyzed based on a deductive and inductive analysis framework. data management techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Testing the validity of the data is done by triangulation of data based on data sources, techniques, and time. The results of the study indicate that there are several community religious activities, namely Yasinan routine Friday nights, in its implementation it is divided into two times and locations. Tahlilan, its implementation is not bound by time, anytime and anywhere but is often done when a community dies. Commemorating Islamic holidays (PHBI), such as the Maulid of the Prophet Muhammad, welcoming the Islamic new year, and Halal bilhalal. The values of character education are religious values, hard work values, friendly/communicative values, social care values, curiosity values, and love for the homeland and discipline values.

This article aims to examines that the secularist system of the French Republic, which is often used as the prototype of the modern state, cannot be generalized as the only model for all countries. This research is a descriptive method with a literature study that examines various sources about the secularism system of the French Republic. The results obtained are the French Laicite concept is still a process that has not yet reached the final word in the course of the standard concept of the nation state. Initially, secularism was built on a mission to celebrate equality and freedom of all citizens, while avoiding tensions in relations between religion and the state. In practice, the concept of secularism runs with a Eurocentrism bias that has a dark history in the past. Meanwhile, Europe is often biased in upholding its universal ethics in the form of human rights and democracy, as reflected in several cases of banning the veil or veil symbol in public spaces. Responding to the case of Islamic fundamentalism in France, it is necessary to revisit the initial process of the arrival of Muslim immigrants from the third world, which still leaves problems of social integration, economic access, and access to educational services which should be a public matter for all equal citizens of the republic.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relevance of the learning methods of Ibn Khaldun and Islamic Education. The research approach used was descriptive qualitative and the research data were collected using library research methods. This study discusses the importance of learning methods in teaching and learning activities, which must be able to meet the needs of students according to their learning tasks. Especially in learning Islamic Religious Education, which aims to increase the faith, understanding, appreciation and practice of students about the religion of Islam so that they become Muslim human beings who believe and fear Allah and have noble character in personal, social, national and state life. In order to create learning objectives, educators must have creativity and innovation in learning, including methods that can meet the needs of children. As the method proposed by Ibn Khaldun that we can apply in class, namely memorization, discussion, widya tours, exemplary, learning media, application, repetition, affection, review of age maturity, physical and psychological adjustments of students, suitability of the development of potential students, mastery of one area, practice/practice, and avoid summarizing books.

The purpose of this research is to study Harun Nasution’s thoughts on the reform of Islamic education and highlight the relevance of these ideas to the Islamic education concept in the Society 5.0 era. The writer used descriptive qualitative library research as the approach to the study. Data sources were obtained by reviewing and examining various literatures related to Harun Nasution’s thoughts that were relevant to purpose the research. Whereas the data analysis technique used is the content analysis technique. As the result, this study indicates that the essence of reforming Islamic education according to Harun Nasution is to change the conventional Islamic education system to an open Islamic education, prioritizing moral education and critical thinking. These ideas are relevance for the Society 5.0 era because of these points: first, the advanced Islamic education must develop a pattern of critical thinking to keep it up to the times. Second, moral education is required to fortify oneself from the negative influences of the Society 5.0 era. Third, the curriculum must be based on morals, spirituals, and intellectuals as time goes by. Fourth, the Islamic education method used must be able to improve student’s moral quality and critical thinking skill. Fifth, Islamic educators must be able to set good example to develop students' critical thinking skills, along with students must strive to improve the quality of their thinking by making the best use of reason and morals to be able to face and welcome the Society 5.0 era.

Religion as a sacred thing in life is often considered to have two sides, namely as a guide for one's life and as a weapon for conflict with people who have different religious beliefs. A number of conflicts between religious communities are not a new polemic, even now they have penetrated the scope of social media. Conflicts between religious communities that are often accompanied by acts of violence make religion often synonymous with violent, fierce and violent behavior, whereas all religions teach goodness. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques in this study were using interviews and documentation of a number of scientific articles. The results of this study are the identification of the causes of religious conflicts, namely (1) politicization and cultural interests; (2) egoism and religious exclusivism. Departing from these problems, the researcher offers a model of Inclusive Theology as a resolution to religious conflicts with the accompanying aspects in the form of (1) religious moderation; (2) pluralism; (3) religious inclusivism.
