Latar belakang masalah penelitian ini adalah semakin banyaknya Warga Negara Indonesia (WNI) yang melakukan perkawinan campuran terutama kaum perempuan yang menikah dengan Warga Negara Asing (WNA). Hal ini, mengakibatkan terjadinya masalah dimulai dari perbedaan agama atau keyakinan, budaya serta pola hidup yang berbeda. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan dan menjelaskan motif, makna dan pengalaman perempuan muslim Indonesia sebagai pelaku perkawinan campuran. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode fenomenologi yang berfokus pada kajian pemaknaan pada kehidupan sehari-hari dari sudut pandang orang yang mengalaminya. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah perempuan muslim Indonesia berusia 30-40 tahun yang menikah dengan Warga Negara Asing (WNA) dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perkawinan campuran memiliki motif “karena” yaitu motif trauma dan ketertarikan, sedangkan motif “untuk” terdiri dari motif impian, beribadah, dan memperbaiki keturunan. Begitupun pengalaman perkawinan campuran menunjukkan saling menyesuaikan budaya, beradaptasi multikultural, sikap terbuka dan romantis. Sedangkan makna perkawinan campuran ini adalah menarik, bahagia, penggabungan dua budaya, menghargai perbedaan, saling pengertian, kompleks, indah. Konstruksi makna yang terbentuk bahwa perkawinan campuran adalah perkawinan yang menarik, indah, penuh tantangan dalam menghadapi perbedaan dari sisi kebudayaan, kebiasaan dan pola pikir dalam menjalankan kehidupan berkeluarga.

Fishermen are one of the communities who cling their life on fishing. Currently there are many poor fishermen in Indonesia. One of the causes of their poverty is a lack of access to information and education for the fishermen. Thereby, this study was focused on describing to what extent does the fishermen opinion regarding their access to public information? The purpose of this study is to analyze the fishermen opinion on public information access. In collecting the data, fishermen from Karawang regency were selected as the population and the location sampling at the district level was conducted by simple random sampling. Then, a proportional sampling were conducted to select the respondents in each district. Furthermore, the overall sample size is determined based on the Tarro Yamane formula. The results of the study show that the respondent access to public information was depended on interpersonal media .The respondents had a positive opinion towards the access to public information in sense of confidence indicators, assessment indicators, and the indicators of behavioral tendencies.

Informasi membanjiri media di setiap penjuru masyarakat. Situs berita sebagai salah satu sumber informasi saat ini sudah banyak jumlahnya. Namun apakah semua informasi ini layak untuk dipercaya sepenuhnya. Melalui analisis isi kuantitatif peneliti mencoba membedah salah satu situs berita berlandaskan agama (Islam garis keras), VOA-Islam, dalam memberitakan Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok yang notabene merupakan keturunan Tionghoa non Muslim. Dengan pendekatan objektivitas dari Jurgen Westerstahl (1983) ditemukan fakta bahwa berita yang disajikan VOA-Islam tidak mengandung unsur keberimbangan, bahkan sebagian besar bertendensi negatif, memojokkan Ahok sebagai tokoh penting di DKI Jakarta. Padahal dari dimensi relevansi, persentase berita dari VOA-Islam yang memiliki signifikansi memengaruhi aktivitas hidup masyarakat dan kedekatan topik dengan masyarakat cukup tinggi. Ditambah lagi dengan tingginya persentase jumlah berita yang bermuatan isu SARA, semakin mengawatirkan karena dapat memicu perpecahan bangsa.

President and vice president candidates debate campaign on Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia (RCTI) station followed by two couples is to explain the vision and mission of the next government, so that the public can determine balanced and objective political attitudes. This study uses a quantitative approach by means of surveys. The goal is to determine public attitudes toward campaign events conducted at the presidential debate on RCTI. Sample size is 60 respondents chosen by Yamane sampling that located in Sumedang. The results show that respondents’ understanding and interest in this campaign is very good, but not followed by aspects of consciousness and behavior in support of the candidate. It happened because the communication messages are delivered has been mediated by group and interpersonal factors.

Kehadiran demokratisasi dan peran media massa berdampak terhadap perilaku pemilih perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskritif kuantitatif dengan tujuan mengidentifikasi peran lembaga sosialisasi dan media informasi pada Pemilu Legislatif 2014, dan mengetahui preferensi pemilih perempuan dalam menentukan pilihan politiknya serta mengetahui terpaan media massa dan daya tarik iklan politik parpol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lembaga sosialisasi dan media informasi pada Pemilu Legislatif 2014 berperan dalam memberikan sosialisasi dan pengenalan kandidat kepada pemilih. Preferensi pemilih perempuan dalam menentukan pilihan politiknya dari sisi sosiologis lebih banyak memertimbangkan latar belakang agama, organisasi profesi, asal daerah, informasi dari keluarga, dan intelektualitas kandidat. Dari sisi psikologis, kebanyakan perempuan cenderung memertimbangkan kedekatan emosional, kesamaan parpol, integritas, dan minat yang sama. Competence is one of the important parts of brand study, while brand it is a part of the marketing that has an important position by selling product and services. So brand itself not only for the company, it can also manage individual brands, public figures, and lecturer. This research aimed for determining the use of blogs as a medium to support the competence of lecturers from the aspect trustworthiness, commitment, ability to develop themselves practicing a profession, and a limiting factor in building the competence of lecturers. This research uses a qualitative approach with a single case study through observation, interviews, focus group discussions, and literature. The study found that lecturer use blogs to share lectures, ideas about contemporary events, and upload Islamic articles. Lecturer assessed reliably, because the lecturer writing on a blog is the result of his work, and a lot of consultation requests from various circles. The lecturer is committed to making a change for the better in every way when communicating via blog to maintain conformity with the words of his behavior, and lecturer has the ability to develop themselves in their profession as a lecturer, that gives him the strength to continue working.

This research is related to the readiness of local TV stations in Batam as a media dissemination of public information in the border region in maintaining local identity of Batam, Riau (Kepri). This study is aimed to determine and identify the readiness of local TV Batam as media dissemination of public information in the border region in maintaining local identity. Study was conducted with qualitative research using case study method. The results of study indicated that four existing local TV stations in Batam, two of which, namely Batam TV and Urban TV expressed the readiness in hardware and software deployment as a dissemination medium for public information in maintaining the identity of the border region local and already using local content with sufficient volume in Network Station System (SSJ). While two other are Barelang TV and Penisula TV, is off the broadcast because the investment limitations and weak competitiveness against other local TV and national TV.

Remaja sebagai anggota keluarga yang ikut menjadi bagian dari perceraian masih minim untuk diangkat dalam penelitian-penelitian di bidang komunikasi antarpribadi. Penelitian tersebut lebih memfokuskan pada pengaruh serta dampak dari perceraian. Sedangkan tujuan penulis melakukan penelitian ini untuk menggambarkan pengalaman remaja dari keluarga bercerai. Penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus deskriptif yang berjumlah sepuluh remaja dari keluarga bercerai. Mereka diambil secara purposive sampling . Teknik pengumpulan data memakai teknik observasi dan wawancara mendalam untuk menggali data dari informan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman remaja berada dalam keluarga bercerai adalah masa sulit. Pengalaman menjadi remaja terlantar dikomunikasikan secara verbal dan nonverbal. Komunikasi verbal remaja tercerahkan adalah bahasa motivatif dan keterbukaan. Sedangkan secara non verbal yaitu mengikuti nasihat, penuh kenyamanan, dan penampilan positif. Mereka menjadi remaja-remaja yang memiliki nilai kebaikan dalam konsep diri religius, independen, futuristik, dan maturitas.

The growth of ICT are influential the Subang regional government in order to optimally use ICT in their region. These changes cause the Subang regional government have to do more development in ICT sector through the programs implemented. The research was conducted to identify the issues surrounding the development of ICT (communication and information technology) based on programs of the authorized institution in ICT (Diskominfo) in a city/regency in the Province of West Java, this research use a SWOT analysis to assess the programs. The problem is how the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of ICT development Kominfo sector in Subang Regency, West Java through programs performed by Diskominfo Kabupaten Subang. The aim is to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of ICT development. Data was collected through observation and interviews. The result shows, based on the missions performed by Diskominfo Kabupaten Subang, in general there are some internal weaknesses: related to human resources, facilities, budget, and the lack of standardization in communications and information technology. While the internal strengths are: the availability of adequate human resources, sufficient infrastructure, sufficient budget, a clear work program, and the UPT as a technical implementation. The strategy needs to be done to improve mission implementation of Diskominfo Kabupaten Subang is suggested that organization implemented changes or defensive strategy, rather than pursuing an aggressive or diversification strategy.

PT Dahana (Persero) yang semula merupakan perusahaan monopoli mengalami perubahan menjadi perusahaan yang memiliki pesaing tidak hanya dari dalam negeri tetapi juga dari perusahaan asing, untuk itu diperlukan upaya transformasi budaya perusahaan supaya perilaku karyawannya dapat menyesuaikan dengan visi perusahaan yakni menjadi pemain global. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman karyawan mengenai nilai budaya lama dan pemahaman karyawan mengenai nilai budaya baru perusahaan. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, dengan paradigma konstruktivisme, dan jenis studi adalah studi kasus. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa karyawan memahami nilai budaya lama perusahaan sebagai budaya kekeluargaan, kepemimpinan, santai, birokrasi, kurang kompetitif, kurang client oriented , tidak berbasis kompetensi.
