Validity of the Visual Chart Form Grade Report 视觉图表表格成绩报告的有效性

We proposed a chart form grade report for a special college course and investigated how students understand their curriculum and grades. The form is a visual curriculum flowchart with grades for each subject. We predicted that this form would stimulate students' interest in the flowchart and give them a broad perspective over their learning career. Such a perspective would enable students to understand their own learning status and help them select subjects or courses in the future. We investigated the responses of nine students to three visual images appearing on the PC display, and asked them several questions while monitoring their gaze direction. Their verbal answers and gaze responses supported the validity of the chart form.

Control of Thermal Grid Systems by Machine Learning Techniques Incorporating Mathematical Programming 结合数学规划的机器学习技术控制热网格系统

We consider thermal grid systems which aim to control a number of air conditioning systems as a unit. The ther-mal grid has a number of heat source units and air conditioning machines, and they are connected by pipes. In order to achieve the cooperative control of them, we propose a machine learning approach in which artificial neural networks are involved and it is trained by using mathematical programming techniques. Through some numerical experiments with the actual settings of the thermal grid systems, the potential of our proposed method is examined.

Exploring the Effects of Multimedia Design in a Life English VR Serious Game 探索多媒体设计在生活英语VR严肃游戏中的作用

With the emerging development of virtual reality (VR), a VR head-mounted device (HMD) has been applied in many fields. However, there are few studies discussing the multimedia design of VR in the educational context. This research developed a life English VR serious game played with VR HMD, named VR Life English (VRLE). Two playing modes were designed to explore the effects of multimedia design: one is played with voice and captions, and the other has voice only. In the current status of this study, the proposed VRLE has finished development and continues to examine the learning performance, immersion, and emotion of students. In the future, junior high school students from two classes in Taiwan will join the continuous experiment, and a mixed research will be conducted to investigate the effects of multimedia design in VR serious game.

Development of Flat Finishing Skill Training System Based on Personal Peculiarity Classification of Tool Trajectory 基于刀具轨迹个人特性分类的平面精加工技能培训系统开发

The paper proposes a new education software system for flat finishing skill with an iron file based on classification of personal peculiarities. The software measures learner's flat finishing motion by using a 3D stylus, and displays classified personal peculiarities effectively to correct learner's finishing motions. The system also extracts peculiarity feature pattern based on the trajectory of the iron file. A torus type Self-Organizing Map is used to classify such unknown number of classes of peculiarity patterns. To let the trainers make viewing entire students' peculiarities easily, the resulted feature maps of the torus type SOM are classified into appropriate peculiarity classes based on the cluster map values. Early developing results of the peculiarity computation classification parts with measured data of an expert and sixteen learners show effectiveness of the proposed system.

Development of a Hybrid Flowshop Scheduling System Considering with Due-Date and Incontrollable Processing Time for MTO Production 考虑交货期和加工时间不可控的MTO混合流程车间调度系统的开发

This research reported the automation and optimization of hybrid flexible flowshop scheduling (HFS) for make-to-order (MTO) production, particularly for a joint research with a Japanese medium-sized company. As the first, an automated scheduling software was developed to compare several basic and advanced rules for HFS. Secondly, the optimal solution was discussed to involve both a due-date of individual job and the efficiency of parallel machines in HFS for MTO. Gupta algorithm (1988) was extended considering with different processing time of the individual job. As the result of performance evaluations for actual cases, extended Gupta method improved the due-date satisfaction rate by 15% more than the typical rules, while keeping short makespan that means machines are effectively utilized beyond process steps. In addition, computation of the proposed method is very quick (less than 0.04 seconds) even to the problem consisting of 5 machines and around 110 jobs.

Reviews of Feedback-Based Over-Load Protection Algorithms 基于反馈的过载保护算法综述

Overload protection for electric facilities is a compulsory equipped function in general. Traditional methods may cut the power connection immediately for protection. In this case, however, the facilities may not return to usual work even the malfunction is removed. For this reason, alternative algorithms have been reported using feedback mechanism to resolve this problem. This paper reviews two major schemes based on a feedback principle. The first one uses a feedback-controlling high switching LC algorithm. The second one applies the resonant switching technique with a feedback control strategy. Both approaches achieve a constant-maintained load current for protection purpose. These will be investigated and discussed for more details, and then the conclusions will be made based on the comparison for each other.

Learning Health Concepts through Game-Play 通过游戏学习健康概念

This study investigates the effect of type of game-based inquiry learning (guided-inquiry vs. open-inquiry) on elementary students' attitudes and performance while learning from playing an influenza prevention digital game. There were 47 sixth graders participated in the experimental activity. Participants were randomly assigned to the guided-inquiry group and the open-inquiry group. The preliminary analysis suggested that (a) for the learning performance, game-play enhanced the students' health concepts in influenza prevention knowledge, and the open-inquiry group demonstrated higher performance than the guided-inquiry group did; and (b) as for the learning attitudes, all participants showed positive attitudes toward learning from game-play. The results indicated that the open-inquiry strategy is more suitable for the time-demanding game-paly condition than the guided-inquiry strategy.

Cluster Analysis of Learners Based on Video Annotations 基于视频注释的学习器聚类分析

The analysis of students' learning behaviors is important to realize adaptive and effective feedback to learners. To realize such feedback for learning job interview, in this paper, we propose to use cluster analysis of learners based on video annotations. The learners are clustered into 3 clusters, and the relationship between clusters and attributes of participants is discussed. The realization of feedback to learners is also discussed.

In SPL development, the relationship between elements (equal features) that characterize each product is expressed by a feature model represented using a tree diagram. In this paper, we propose a method to confirm the quality of each product from the assurance case by converting the quality characteristic of the feature model to assurance case that can be explained using GSN notation.

Collaborative Messaging Protocol with Multiple Intermediate Nodes 具有多个中间节点的协作消息传递协议

Selfish nodes can collapse autonomous distributed network systems, such as ad hoc network systems or peer-to-peer network systems. In our previous work [1], [2], we proposed a messaging system model in which a single intermediate node relays a message. In this paper, we propose a novel model with multiple intermediate nodes that allow a message to reach a destination node. We introduce blockchain technology to distributedly record nodes' actions, such as sending messages, relaying messages, and receiving messages. We examine frauds in our proposal protocol to demonstrate that selfish nodes cannot commit frauds.
