This chapter addresses graduate unemployment through student entrepreneurship in the context of South African higher education. The graduate unemployment rate of South Africa is estimated at 33.5% for the youth (15-24) and 10.2% for those aged 25-34. Unemployed graduate phenomenon as depicted by the FeesMustFall campaign is exacerbated by untransformed curriculum which does not provide students with relevant skills matching the labour demands. In this regard, the chapter argues that student entrepreneurship remains one of the strategies university-based youth or students could not only a space to gain business skills and experience, but also a forum where they can put their creative ideas into income generating projects. The chapter first looks at student entrepreneurship and the challenges faced by tertiary students. Second, it explores the opportunities created through entrepreneurship, the challenges faced by student entrepreneurs, and finally, the support needed to run successful student entrepreneurship.

This chapter explores a very positive example of enterprise risk management (ERM) development in Mexico, set by the firm Grupo Proeza, from which valuable and highly generalisable lessons can be learned. These lessons will pertain most centrally to Grupo Proeza's techniques of ERM building, where risk management practices are used to enhance the cultural and other foundations for ERM. Of particular interest is the notion that various risk assessment techniques can be used for this purpose, which may seem counter-intuitive by reversing the formative relationship between risk culture and risk assessment practice that is more typically the focus for attention.

This chapter presents the conceptual evolution of interdisciplinarity, transdisciplinarity, and discipline under information science from a theoretical framework. The text is a research whose primary purpose is to analyze scientific research developed in the context of interdisciplinary information science with participation in more than one area of knowledge. Using the concepts presented and those that contemporary authors studied in different areas for composition of the conceptual framework that presents itself, the results of the research have enabled profiling of research in the area about the use of different approaches and concluded that different forms and levels of interaction are found in information science. It is, therefore, concluded that the concepts have changed and that caused significant changes in their meanings. These changes lead to an ongoing re-evaluation and updating in the context of information science and its implications because it is an interdisciplinary science.

Organizations are undergoing significant changes in their business environment. Competing on a global scale means that organizations must better understand cultural issues of their customers, employees, and key stakeholders. As business analytics grows in importance, managers are sharing data visualizations to a variety of different cultures and beliefs. When creating culturally sensitive data visualizations, a set of best practices is required to assist managers to make timely and accurate decisions with the least possible cultural bias. This chapter aims to develop these best practices by analyzing cultural traits, communication habits, and other differences between the western and eastern global regions.

Highly competitive business environments make innovation a key element for survival. Though there are many companies that have been market leaders, they failed. The main reason behind the failure is lack of innovation. This is why companies have to find new discoveries and strategies to survive. Even though innovation is generally defined as a creation of idea, it is more than an idea. It is a process that includes a series of steps that begin with imagination and result in the creation of something. Innovation provides solutions for requirements in a unique way. Before the imagination steps, companies have to understand deeply customers' needs or desires to define requirements of customers. In this chapter, the customer-centric innovation process explained in seven stages.

Indonesia's National Innovation Policy requires consistent support from the private sector participation to raise its knowledge-based economic growth and become one of the top 15 powerful countries in the world by 2045, as declared by the Presidential decree. The low participation rate of private industries in R&D activities is a cause for concern for the government, as an effort to improve the country's social and economic performance must be a shared responsibility. This chapter looks into how the private sector participation in innovative effort plays an essential role in improving the country's economic performance. The challenges that lie ahead in achieving the goals of National Innovation Policy rest with both the government and the private sector.
