Digital transformation implies some organizational changes when using digital technologies and new business models to improve efficiency. With another definition, if we try to compare the concepts of "Digital transformation" and "Digitalization", then digital transformation includes changing the company's current business model, its strategy and values, ways of interaction with customers and suppliers, using digital technologies. At the same time, if the digitalization is based on some technology, the transformation should be directed towards the customer, in the conditions of the introduction and use of automated systems. Clarification of these approaches is of agenda importance for the transition to digital transformation of the business environment, to which this article is dedicated. The article presents the approaches, stages, levels of digital business transformation of the business environment, the role of new business models in the conditions of the digital economy, as well as studies the changes in the digitalization index of the business and the issues of introduction and use of automated systems.

Income inequality is characteristic of all economic systems. The market mechanism of income redistribution, and even their centralized regulation, can not eliminate this inequality, because equal distribution of income does not only lead to social justice, but also weakens incentives to work and the desire to ensure high productivity. Moreover, differences in ability, education and training, professional taste and risk, ownership of property are significant factors in the emergence of income inequality in society. The paper analyzes the impact of fiscal policy on overcoming income inequality. For this purpose, first researches done by different economists in this field were commented, then the current state of income inequality in Armenia, the changes of the fiscal policy during the last decade were studied. A model has been developed to assess the impact of fiscal policy on income inequality, the future course of certain fiscal policy instruments, their impact on income inequality for the next five years.

The role of human capital in the world economy is increasing, especially in the context of the unprecedented rapid development of modern science and technology. The paper considers various methods of calculation of HC, proposed by theoreticians at different times. As a result we came to the conclusion that the most appropriate way to calculate HC by international organizations today is the human capital index. An attempt was made to study in depth the index of HC, methods of its calculation according to the UN and the World Bank. It was through the index of HC that the trends of HC development in the world economy were presented. We touched upon the methodology of calculation of the individual components of the index, their innovations. The index was presented for individual regions, the reasons for differences in them were identified. Some components of the index in Armenia and other countries were studied. We also mentioned the shortcomings and limitations of the HC index.

Covid-19 pandemic brought many problems to the world. Tourism sphere suffered a lot. In Armenia the number of tourists decreased by 81% in 2020. In 2021 and 2022 tourism sphere began to recover gradually. The Russian-Ukrainian war brought new problems to the world economy. In 2019, Russian spending on travel abroad reached US$ 36 billion and Ukrainian spending US $8.5 billion. Concerning tourism destinations, Russia and Ukraine account for 4% of international tourist arrivals in Europe but only 1% of Europe’s international tourism receipts. The number of Russian tourists to Armenia increased in 2022. The article analyzes the impact of the influx of Russian tourists to the Armenian tourism sector due to the Russian-Ukrainian war. The surveys show that Russian tourists are very satisfied with Armenia, so it is necessary to develop attractive tourist packages to different destinations in Armenia for Russians. The correlation analysis between total tourists of Armenia and restaurants and hotels revenue is 0.52, between total tourists and employment is 0.14 and between total tourists and GDP is 0.37. Tourism should contribute to the sustainable development of the country, so aggressive marketing policies should be implemented to promote incoming tourism in Armenia after pandemic.

International trade contributes to the development of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) as a regional integration alliance and, as stated by classical economists, plays a decisive role in the economic growth of any country (region). Most studies of EAEU international trade flow analysis focus on the trade component. The present paper attempts to display the connection between EAEU trade and macroeconomic indicators. The applied technical methods of statistical analysis have enabled the researchers to evaluate SARIMA models for export and import, and forecast EAEU 2020 trade dynamics based on these models. Then keeping in mind, the idea that the basis of the constructed model is the assumption that the series will maintain its trend, the actual value was simply subtracted from the forecast value to measure the 2020 shock effect. Due to the fundamental methods of statistical analysis the EAEU member countries’ trade and macroeconomic indicators elasticity ratios have been calculated, which are likely to measure the impact rate and become new empirical knowledge in assessing the interaction of trade turnover and the economic growth of the countries.

Unicorns play a vital role in country’s startup ecosystem development. Firstly, after a country’s startup produces its first unicorn software startup, it gains media popularity being covered by world’s famous publishers. Then it becomes more attravtive for both local and foreign investors such as venture capital funds and angel investors. Thirdly and most importantly it impacts the workforce market of the country by creating new jobs. This is apparent specifically in small countries where the number of unicorn startups per capita is pretty high. Unicorns help develop these small countries’ startup ecosystems and attract more investment by making the local investment market more sustainable for early-stage startups and by making the ecosystem more famous among foreign investors providing easy access to them for relatively late-stage startups.

Issues in the field of employment basically predetermine both the current trends in the economic development of any country and long-term expectations. Therefore, the analysis of employment indicators and their qualitative and quantitative assessment form sufficient practical grounds for an objective and scientific solution to the problems of economic activity of the population. In this article, the indicators characterizing the employment market of the territorial units of the Republic of Armenia, including the city of Yerevan, were analyzed, using econometric models. And the relationship and interaction between macroeconomic indicators and employment indicators were evaluated. The results of the analysis show that, according to territorial units, both employment indicators and other macroeconomic indicators in Armenia are highly polarized, and positive trends in economic development are manifested mainly in Yerevan and Syunik regions. The results of econometric models "economic growth - reduction of unemployment", in turn, reveal the gap between the capital and the regions in terms of reducing unemployment.
