The article is devoted to the problem of punctuation transmission in poetic translation. Punctuation helps to understand the written form of the text. The structure, meaning, and intonation of the utterance dictate the setting of the necessary punctuation mark. In poetic works, punctuation also serves the purpose of highlighting or emphasizing the most significant elements. The search for adequate means of conveying intonation and highlighting semantic segments leads to a combination of various additional ways of formatting the text. The individual style of a writer or poet in a literary text is conveyed through stylistically significant marks of the author's punctuation. The translator must decide whether to keep the author's punctuation, omit it, or include the punctuation marks of the receiving language in the translation. Poetic translation often leads to a significant rearrangement of the text, in which the punctuation component refers to other speech segments than in the original text, what was shown by the example of translations of I. Bunin's poetic works.

The article describes distinctive features of a film review as a speech genre which is now one of the most popular genres of the mass media net discourse. The article proves its intertextual character and analyses its lexical and semantic features. Film reviews taken from the following sources: sites of cinema goers: www.imdb.com, www.empireonline.com, www.pluggedin.com ; official sites of film critics (e.g. R. Ebert) https://www.rogerebert.com; official sites of the newspapers: The New York Times https://www.nytimes.com/reviews/movies, The Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/film+tone/reviews and other sites: https://www.imdb.com/search/keyword/?keywords=movie-review, https://www.pluggedin.com/movie-reviews/. The material for analysis comprises about 100 film reviews released in 2020. The reviews are in open access in the Internet. The volume of the analysed material is about 200 pages. The method used to achieve the main objective is interpretation analysis of film reviews. As a result of the theoretical material analysis main directions in the genre research were specified; key distinctive features of a film review were studied. The actuality of the research is determined by the rising interest to net mass media discourse genres. The main objective is to elicit and describe lexical and semantic features of film reviews as a speech genre. The conducted research made it possible to prove the interdiscoursive and poly-discoursive nature of the genre in question and to systematize its lexical and semantic features. The analysis disclosed that intertextuality of a film review is actualized in the interaction of three types of discourse: that of the critic, that of the film and that of other people. Poly-discoursive nature of a film review is expressed through the combination of publicistic, literary and scientific styles features. Another important characteristic is evaluativity represented in emotionally coloured vocabulary. Among other lexical and semantic features are the following: usage of non-specific terms, cliches, rhetorical questions with precedent names, intertextual inserting, various stylistic devices, among which epithets and metaphors are most often used. It’s been observed that a film review is filled with bookish vocabulary as well as stylistically low words and expressions.
影评作为一种话语类型,是当今大众传媒网络话语中最流行的一种话语类型,它具有鲜明的特点。文章论证了其互文性,分析了其词汇和语义特征。影评来源:电影观众网站:www.imdb.com、www.empireonline.com、www.pluggedin.com;影评人官方网站(如R. Ebert) https://www.rogerebert.com;报纸官方网站:the New York Times https://www.nytimes.com/reviews/movies、the Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/film+tone/reviews等网站:https://www.imdb.com/search/keyword/?keywords=movie-review、https://www.pluggedin.com/movie-reviews/。

The study of the specifics of publicistic style and its linguistic and stylistic peculiarities is relevant and it is caused by the linguists’ increased attention to mass media texts as a means of influence on the audience and the importance of a more complete examination of the linguistic text features. The lexical composition of newspaper texts is extremely diverse as the newspaper is a means of reflecting modern language development, and the periodical press uses various expressive means. The following English-speaking newspapers The Daily Mail, The New York Times, The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Times, Daily News, BBC News, Los Angeles Times, Esquire and The Washington Post , provide analysis of expressive means used with a view to distin-guishing epithets and examining their distribution and use in the periodical press. The article researches and illustrates different types of epithets distinguished on a variety of principles: in terms of their semantics, structure, nature of nomination and type of connotative meaning. From the semantic perspective there exist common language and individual epithets. In terms of nature of nomination epithets are classified into metaphoric and metonymic. The periodical press verifies use of all the structural epithet types, viz. simple, compound and epithet chains. The expression of the author’s viewpoint can be communicated with the help of epithets with meliorative, pejorative or neutral connotative meaning.

The article deals with transitional phenomena in the system of sentences with homogeneous members. The purpose of this work is to describe syncretic cases in the structure of sentences with homogeneous semantics. Sentences taken from the language of fiction were the subject of this study, which was carried out within the framework of the structural and semantic direction. With the help of structural and semantic methods, the main characteristics of sentences with homogeneous members in a theoretical aspect are described, and syncretic cases that cannot be qualified unambiguously are shown. In the course of the study, it was found that the phenomena of transitivity are characteristic of sentences with homogeneous members. In the syntax of the language of lyrics, the processes of transition are manifested more vividly than in the language of fiction. This is due to the fact that the linguistic semantics of a poetic work becomes complicated under the influence of the informativeness, rhythm, rhyme and melody of the poetic line. The results of the study outline possible ways of understanding sentences with homogeneous semantics in the syntactic system of the language, and can also be used in the linguistic analysis of the text.

This article is devoted to the lexicon connected with non-equivalent vocabulary, the notion of lacuna and lacunarity. A lacuna in linguistics can be unraveled as a lexical gap or the absence of a lexical unit in the language whereas there is a concept in the conceptual sphere with zero verbalization. The research under discussion demonstrates the peculiarities of lacuna translation and interpretation in fiction literature, with the examples from the Turkish and Russian texts analyzed.

The article examines the features of communication in the plays of the Theatre of the Absurd. The absence in the act of communication of the most important components such as objectives, motives and needs - leads to communication breakdown. The consequence of communication breakdown is language disintegration, which we observe in the case of lack of lexical and grammatical connections, the absence of semantic connection between the objects of conversation, in the illogical inferences of the heroes, in the multidimensional dialogue. The material of the research is the plays "The Bald Singer" by E. Ionesco and "Waiting for Godot" by S. Beckett.

The object of consideration in the paper are innovative styles of communication within and across national, ethnic and social groups. The active exploring of this language phenomenon is particularly important for German and Turkish, two languages that have been in close contact in the quarters of large cities of Germany where migrants of several generation are concentrated for more than 40 years. Nowadays, this style of speech has gone beyond the urban areas and has turned into a new way of speaking used by young native German people. The authors investigate social conditions of the formation, as well as the peculiarities of this social-group dialect (sociolect). Particular attention is paid to the specific character and homogeneity of its morphosyntactic, phonetic and lexical structures. The label ethnolect is indifferent to the ethnicity of its purported speakers, but primarily indexes their difference, i.e. heteroethnic relation to the imagined majority group. Media shows contribute to its development into a kind of secondary and further into a tertiary version of the language. The certain German-Turkish language hybrid is used consciously and intentionally. This new code is created as a metalinguistic symbol of identity and is used to designate some media characters.

This article considers one of the least studied types of translation, namely multi-stage translation, which determines the relevance of the chosen topic. The article is innovative in nature, as it is saturated with new material and thus has a more modern character. The works of prominent Russian and European linguists listed in the article, who were more or less engaged in this problem, as it turns out, were written in the 1970s and 1980s and relied on the technological capabilities of those long-ago years. The article is divided into a number of points, or steps, which reflect the individual and successive stages of the translator's work. Each stage is followed by a small comment, and then it is expanded in terms of the execution of the corresponding actions by the translator. Each of the functions described in the article corresponds to the above points in its internal content. This is the responsibility of a specialist for an extremely accurate (adequate) translation of the title of the work. Then the correct recognition of individual tokens and expressions. Then the search for equivalents for metaphors, idioms and some other types of tropes follows along the chain. A well-known place in the article is also occupied by the theory of transferring individual words from one column to another in order to correct mistakes previously made by the translator. The article is enriched by the fact that the evidence system relies on modern translations. Thus, three novels of the prominent Azerbaijani writer Chingiz Abdullayev, "The Court of the Wrong", "His True Passion" and "The Valor of Giants", translated in 2018, came into view. Moreover, in each case, a translator is specified, so that the examples are taken from these works and thereby concretize both the text itself and indicate the intentions of specialists.
