This article discusses the impact of site selection on the architecture of the Karang Bolong Fort. Data collection was done by using observation, interviews, and literature studies techniques. The research uses the analysis techniques of the outside of the buildings and qualitative analysis. The supporting theory used is the theory of landscape architecture. The results of this study provide an overview of site selection of Karang Bolong Fortress which affect the architecture form of the fort. Seeing the location, the Dutch East Indies government chose to adapt the Napoleon Tower model with some adjustments in the function and number of rooms. The architectural shape of the defense tower was chosen because it is in accordance with the function of Karang Bolong Fort as a defensive fortress on the east coast of Nusakambangan Island.

Buton is a local kingdom that has not been widely discussed in Indonesian history. This sultanate has a uniqueness that is rarely owned by other sultanates in the archipelago. One of these uniquenesses is the ties of cooperation between Buton and the VOC in many fields. Because of this, Buton is often considered a traitorous sultanate. This study was written to map the position of the Sultanate of Buton in terms of economy, politico-government, trade, defense, and diplomacy (including relations with the VOC) in Indonesian history. The critical history method was used in writing this article by using related research literature sources. It was concluded that the Buton government was in a unique position compared to other sultanates because the sultan was elected by the people and was not hereditary. Meanwhile, Buton's shipping and trade strategy remained at the point of Nationalism even though cooperation with the VOC was established here. Buton's government structure indicates that the position of this sultanate is at a modern stage compared to the sultanates in Java and Kalimantan.

One of the short stories that is rather popular among teenagers and adults is The Story of An Hour by Kate Chopin in 1894. When reading the translation of the story, there are various translation shifts that can be found, especially the structure shift which is the type that most often occurs in the world of translation because every language has its own grammatical structure. Therefore, this study intended to analyze noun phrases that represent structure shifts using the theory of translation shift by Catford (1965) and the theory of noun phrases by Quirk and Greenbaum (1985). The data were collected using note-taking and observation method which were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively in the form of words and language. This study found two types of noun phrases that represent structure shifts, namely: three data were classified as simple noun phrases and four data were classified as complex noun phrases

This study used Fairclough's critical discourse analysis theory to analyse the news articles published in Magdalene ??and Femina magazines in 2020. The authors particularly emphasised finding one of three aspects of Fairclough's socio-cultural practice: power. From this point, the authors attempted to find out the depiction of women and the stance of the contributors in the news articles about sexual harassment. This study found that the aspect of power constructed by contributors from news articles and magazines depicted women and men as vulnerable groups to sexual harassment. However, the harassment is described as still predominantly experienced by women. The findings also suggested that the contributors attempted to oppose male domination and power relations in the scope of work, especially in cyber sexual harassment.
