The present study discussed the representation and identity of three selected women figures who contributed to the development of tourism in Bali and worked as a team leader, an entrepreneur, and an influencer, respectively. This study has two objectives: 1. to find out how women represent themselves and 2) to find out how women build their identity in the tourism context using narration. The authors used narrative inquiry to collect valuable stories from the informants. Using narrative inquiry, the stories produced by the informants were unique and meaningful. The study’s results revealed that women represented themselves as figures responsible for fulfilling domestic, i.e. family, and non-domestic roles, i.e. careers. The study also revealed that they still embraced traditional and domestic roles as their identity while simultaneously managing to actualise themselves in their careers. Keywords: identity, gender, narrative inquiry, women’s representation, women’s language

As a result of the "kawaii" trend, having a slim body has become one of the beauty standards coveted by young Japanese women. One of the latest diet trend in 2016 and 2018 was the Cinderella weight, a weight standard that is considered as dangerous because the weight count is below the healthy BMI (Body Mass Index). This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods and video interviews from the Ask Japanese YouTube channel (2016, 2020, and 2022) regarding Cinderella weight and ideal body weight of young Japanese women were taken as the main data sources. The Theory of Social Construction of Women's Bodies by Sandra Lee Bartky (1990) was used to analyze this phenomenon and prove that beauty is a form of social construction. It was found that numerous of them idealizing Cinderella weight and being slim is still the desire of the majority of young Japanese women. The role of social media and mass media, which feature many female models and artists who are slim also inseparable for the influence.

This research dealt with code-mixing phenomenon in the AU (alternate universe), that refers to fan fiction about one’s favorite celebrity. This type of fan fiction is mostly and largely published on Twitter as a social media platform. "Tjokorda Manggala," authored by @guratkasih, is one of several AUs with code-mixing in every tweet. This study delves deeper into the many sorts of code-mixing employed in "Tjokorda Manggala." It has been shown that 44 code-mixing occurrences were discovered from 28 tweets, with the kind of insertion (75%) being the highest or most usually employed. Alternation (9.1%) is only utilized in a few circumstances, while congruent lexicalization (15.9%) occurred more frequently than alternation. Some factors that caused code-mixing in the AU are settings and situations, participants, topics, and function of interaction. It is intended that through doing this research, the shift in linguistic patterns and how English has impacted Indonesians may be noticed, even in the realm of fan fiction.

Development in the field of science and technology has resulted in very basic changes, including changes in the perspective between the positions of men and women. The impact of these changes has resulted in more opportunities for women to participate in the public world. The same is true for women in Kusamba Village in the fish management industry. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by using a purposive sample informant determination technique. While the data collection techniques use observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The theory used to analyze the problem is Pierre Bourdieu's generative structural theory and Foucault's knowledge-power relation theory. The results showed that the struggle of women in Kusamba Village in the fish processing center was able to improve the welfare of families and communities. This can be proven by the increasing number of women's savings in the Kusamba Village Credit Institution. The success of women in improving the welfare of their families and communities has not been able to increase the bargaining position of women in politics, both in the family and in the community.

Today, the development of Indonesian literature has undergone many changes, marked by the birth of female authors who present various ideas about the world of women. The world of women described by female authors does not only tell women in the domestic sphere of women but also women in the public sphere. One of them is Gitlicious in his work entitled My Lecturer My Husband. This study examines the actualization of women in the novel My Lecturer My Husband by Gitlicious by relying on the formulation proposed by Betty Friedan. This type of qualitative descriptive research uses documentation techniques and literature study as data collection methods. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used is the interactive data analysis technique, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The study's results prove that the actualization of women depicted in the novel My Lecturer My Husband shows the flexibility of women's roles in the public sphere. However, it does not exceed the position of men in terms of work and intelligence. Women are imaged as if they have succeeded in getting out of the domestic and public spheres so that women are aware of and reposition themselves into the domestic sphere.

Today's popularity of a tourist destination is often supported by its existence on social media. Engaging narratives and pictures influence visitor interest in traveling to an area. This study aims to see the discourse strategy used by a highly followed Instagram account @balilivin in promoting tourist attractions in Bali using the theory of Wodak & Meyer (2001). The data was collected in January 2022. Using descriptive-qualitative method, the study found that most posts divide human social actors into visitors and locals. Bali as a destination and its people is described with a highly positive image with bombastic words. Pictures and captions framed Bali as an ideal paradise apart from various realities unshown on social media.
