Internet predstavlja siroku arenu mogucnosti u kojoj starije osobe mogu dobiti adekvatnu socijalnu potporu. Strana istraživanja jasno pokazuju da IKT pomaže starijima u održavanju komunikacije s clanovima obitelji i prijateljima te da može pomoci i u održavanju psihofizickog zdravlja. Kako je uspjesno starenje visedimenzionalni konstrukt koji ukljucuje brojne determinante, poput ucenja novih stvari, tako koristenje interneta može biti važan cimbenik bolje prilagodbe promjenama koje starenje donosi. Stoga je cilj ovoga istraživanja bio utvrditi u kojoj mjeri osobe starije od 60 godina koriste internet i mogu li se individualne razlike u procjeni uspjesnog starenja objasniti koristenjem interneta. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 295 osoba u dobi između 60 i 89 godina iz razlicitih županija u Republici Hrvatskoj. Od mjernih instrumenata je koristena Skala samoprocjene uspjesnog starenja, dok su ostali konstrukti bili zahvaceni sa po jednom tvrdnjom, sto je slucaj i u drugim slicnim istraživanjima (ucestalost koristenja interneta, subjektivna dob, tjelesno i mentalno zdravlje). Dobiveno je da 40% osoba starije životne dobi koristi internet u prosjeku jednom tjedno, i to najvise za potrebe citanja vijesti i ostalih zanimljivosti kao i za komunikaciju s clanovima obitelji i prijateljima. Sudionici koji koriste internet su kronoloski mlađi, sebe doživljavaju mlađima, obrazovaniji su, boljeg su tjelesnog i mentalnog zdravlja, i procjenjuju da se bolje prilagođavaju promjenama koje starenje donosi, odnosno da uspjesnije stare. Nije utvrđen znacajan samostalan doprinos ucestalosti koristenja interneta uspjesnom starenju, nego je taj odnos posredovan dobrim tjelesnim i mentalnim zdravljem i procjenom sudionika da su mlađi nego sto kronoloski jesu.

Dementia significantly impairs cognitive and behavioral functioning of the person, and in recent years there has been a significant increase in the number of patients suffering from dementia. In Croatia, such patients are often placed in retirement homes, non-specialized institutions for elderly and infirm, often without adequately educated employees. Attitudes toward dementia seem to be an important factor for adequate care of people with dementia, but there was no previous research on this topic in Croatia. Dementia attitudes scale (DAS) developed by O'Connor and McFadden (2010) provides to be a useful tool in research of attitudes toward dementia. The aim of the study was to translate the scale into Croatian language and validate it on the Croatian sample. Participants were employees and retirement home users, other health care workers and general population. Validation made just on samples that were in everyday contact with dementia patients showed consistent factors (social comfort and dementia knowledge) as in the original scale, so the conclusion was that the questionnaire could be used in that population. Still, overall results that included general sample showed different factors when compared to the original scale, since the Croatian version did not show standard factors, but rather positive and negative attitudes factors. Results could be seen as highly suggestive and emphasize the need to distinguish and separate research on attitudes toward dementia in different populations.

Achievement motivation is a concept that can be used for the explanation of individual differences in achievement and success in various contexts as well as an explanation of motivated behaviour. Despite the fact that a generally accepted definition of achievement motivation is still lacking because of disagreement over the traits it encompasses, numerous studies have been conducted on this subject. Researchers agree that achievement motivation is an important factor in professional life, particularly in achieving high professional success when external demands for focusing activity on achieving goals are minimal. It is of particular importance for those activities that have low structure levels and high autonomy. The study included 267 employed adults (124 males and 143 females) older than 18 years. Participants completed the Achievement Motivation Inventory (AMI) which consists of 17 achievement motivation scales. Individual scales form three clusters of motivational facets relating to self-assurance, ambition and self-control. The aim of the study was to determine the existence of gender differences in individual achievement motivation dimensions in employed adults in the Republic of Croatia. The results show the existence of significant gender differences in achievement motivation facets related to self-assurance and ambition in favour of males (e.g. confidence in success, dominance, and fearlessness) and self-control in favour of females. These results are in agreement with previous research and contribute to the usefulness of multifaceted measures of achievement motivation.

Studies have shown a strong relationship between national identity and some of the constructs of positive psychology. So far, these topics have rarely been researched in the Macedonian context. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between national identity, subjective well-being and meaning in life. Thus, 204 undergraduate students participated in the study, 146 female and 58 male students at the age of 18 to 23 years. The data was acquired with the following four scales: national identity was measured with The National Identity Scale (NIS); the meaning in life was measured with the Meaning in Life Questionnaire (MIQ); the cognitive aspect of subjective well-being was measured with the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS); and the affective aspect was measured with the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS). It has been hypothesized that the students with higher national identity would have higher satisfaction with life, more positive affects and higher meaning in life; contrary to the students with lower national identity who would have lower satisfaction with life, more negative affects and lower meaning in life. The relationships between each dimension were estimated with the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient, and the results partially confirmed the predictions. Positive significant correlation was found between national identity, satisfaction with life and the presence of meaning in life. No significant relationship was found between national identity and the affective (positive and negative) aspects of subjective well-being. These findings are important because they provide a new insight into the relationship between the construct of national identity and the constructs of positive psychology, meaning in life and the aspects of subjective well-being.

Ispitivanje je provedeno na 204 ucenika prvih razreda triju gimnazijskih skola (141 ucenice i 61 ucenik). Koristeni mjerni instrumenti su: Ljestvica potpore i kontrole nastavnika konstruirana za potrebe ovog istraživanja, zatim Ljestvica potpore i kontrole roditelja (Regner, Loose i Dumas, 2009), Podljestvica ispitne anksioznosti (Vulic-Prtoric i Soric, 2002), mjere skolskog uspjeha i zadovoljstva sobom kao ucenikom. Utvrđeno je kako ucenice, u odnosu na ucenike, imaju vecu razinu ispitne anksioznosti, zadovoljnije su sobom kao ucenikom, procjenjuju da dobivaju vecu potporu od roditelja, te da ih nastavnici vise kontroliraju.
