Organizations are rushing into social media networks following a worldwide trend to create a social presence in multiple media channels. However, a social media strategy needs to be aligned with and framed in the overall organizational strategic management goals. Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) are not different from other organizations in which concerns these problems. Determining the organizational positioning of an organization current strategy will allow to combine monitoring and benchmarking methods to foster the identification of opportunities and threats, which can serve as inputs for the internal evaluation of social media strategies', for the necessary strategic readjustments and a subsequent efficiency measurement. In order to address these challenges, we propose a three-step automatic data-mining procedure to assess the posting behavior and strategy of HEI, understand the editorial policy behind it, and predict the future HEI engagement. We used a sample of the 5-top ranked educational institutions in 2017. We collected the posts from each HEI official Facebook page during an entire school year. Our method showed high degree of accuracy and is also capable of describing which topics are most common in each university's social media content strategy and relate them to the corresponding response from their publics.

Scientific communication undergoes changes of growth and model in virtue of phenomena related to the new modes of production and dissemination of documents, which affect their forms of visibility and impact. The nature of the research, affected more and more by the pressure to publish, and by the acceleration of publication times, is increasingly affected by the appearance of phenomena such as those of the predatory Publisher, and the tensions between the large publishing corporations and open access platforms.

Starting from the stimuli coming from the TPCK model [30], the work invites to discuss the type of technological competence required today by the teacher for a 'wise' [27] and effective use of digital tools at school. The 'supply chain' metaphor will be used in order to describe the epistemic process that transforms European priorities into national competences of teachers. Specifically, a model of 'traceability' of the TPACK - that from the DigiComp Edu Framework leads up to the local training in the school-centres pole through the Italian National Digital Plan (PNSD), obtained from a survey using a questionnaire - will be proposed in order to reflect on the coherence between the general priorities and the actual formulation.

The university media are actors that, being attached to Higher Education Institutions (HEI), try to find a balance between media and education. This situation generates a series of peculiarities that differentiate them from their commercial counterparts. The present article proposes to define the types, functions and self-determination of the Ecuadorian university media, through a documentary review of the researches developed in this field, and the application of structured interviews to its directors. The results allow identifying the characteristics of the Ecuadorian university media, marked by the institutional model that is ascribed to the academic units, a range of functions that respond to institutional needs, and a self-determination that, at times, differs from the HEI type. which is ascribed to align with the community or generate a mixture beyond what is determined in current Ecuadorian regulations, ratifying their status as differentiated actors in the national media scenario.

Modern economy requires engineers to excel in collaborative and communication skills at an international setting. However, these competences are not usually addressed in most engineering curricula. In the Multinational Undergraduate Team Work course, MUTW, students develop their capstone project as members of an international team while working at their home institutions. Team members are geographically spread to assure heterogeneous teams and to promote international cooperation. This paradigm can be applied in any project/internship course unit. The results from the pilot editions that ran between 2009 and 2011 support our initial hypothesis that MUTW significantly promotes students' soft skills without requiring costly and time consuming changes to prior degree curricula.

There is a need to improve the definition and development of technological ecosystems in order to solve the main problems detected in previous studies. To achieve this goal, it is required to identify and analyse the solutions available in the literature in the field of software engineering applied to ecosystems. The research in software ecosystems is a relatively young research area, but there are already several works that analyse the literature associated. To conduct a new systematic literature review is necessary to ensure that there are no studies that do the same, namely, that do not answer the same research questions. The identification of the need for a review was done through a study focused on systematic literature reviews and mapping studies about software ecosystems. This work aims to describe the mapping conducted as part of that study. It provides a global state of the art of this kind of studies in the area of software ecosystems.

In this article my PhD research plan will be presented. This work revolves around communication and perception strategies that serve as guidelines for public administrations. Currently the science of behavior has taken a turn with the arrival of mass communication. In this sense, the agents that need to reach the population to make sense, such as public administrations, have changed their communication, marketing and message design strategies. This Project aims to analyze the behavior and reactions of different types of public to certain messages by public administrations to know whether these messages work or not. To do this, we will use traditional methodologies such as observation and analysis of official data and experimental methodologies in the application of strategies in order to know their effectiveness. When this investigation is completed, it is expected to offer a guide of good practices on the incidence of these strategies by public administrations on the behavior of citizens. This research work is divided into five sections: Context and motivation that drives the dissertation research; State-of-the-art; Research objectives and research questions; Research approach and methods; and Conclusions and future work.

This paper includes the results of an experience of educational innovation for the study of color structures carried out with the students of the Degree in Fine Arts of the University of Salamanca during the 2017-2018 academic year. This experience was explicitly focused on the introduction of digital tools that contribute to the acquisition of necessary skills such as the ability to analyze the chromatic structure of the pictorial work and its critical commentary, and to complement traditional color learning based on mixing of color on the palette. With this aim, we have initially worked with the digital tool Google Cloud's Vision API for the first analysis and we have finished the experience with Adobe Color CC, a complementary tool that allows the creation of own schemes. The project started with the coordination of contents and teaching experiences in related subjects in the Degree in Fine Arts. This includes both practical subjects of the areas of Painting and Drawing in which content related to color, chromatic vocabulary and manipulation of parameters are developed in depth, as well as the theoretical subjects of History and Art Theory in which an analysis of color for the elaboration of critical comments is needed. This paper explains the working process and the result of the experience once the above-mentioned tools were applied to the image analysis in the classroom.

The search for non-contextual process factors associated with school effectiveness has become a line of research with very broad dissemination, primarily from the ubiquity of research that includes analysis of secondary data from large-scale evaluations. With the aim of detecting ICT factors related to school effectiveness from the Spanish sample of the PISA 2015 evaluation, this work applies statistical techniques of data mining, specifically decision trees, for the optimization of the process. The results demonstrate that, while the availability and excessive use of ICTs, both in the educational environment and in the home, are factors associated with low effectiveness, other more personal characteristics of the pupils, such as their perception of self-efficacy in the management of ICT, or their own interest in the use of technologies, can be considered as factors in the protection of school effectiveness. We conclude by discussing the relationship between school effectiveness and academic performance through the analysis of previous studies, focusing on the common elements detected within both perspectives.

The amount of historical photographs is a challenge for archives with regard to analyzing, documenting and structuring archival material and make it retrievable and accessible. Established human centric concepts will not be able to handle the instream of un- or semi-structured material or handle analogue documentation. We suggest the use of artificial intelligence to pre-classify and organize historic photographs in collections and archives. With regard to uncertainty the concept of artificial intelligence based classification is discussed based on two questions: (1) What is the uncertainty in current archival documentation, assuming that the quality and completeness of a current classification depends on the partial and restricted knowledge of a person? (2) Can algorithmic concepts help to quantify the level of uncertainty? The aspect of documentation is discussed based on a comparison of algorithms and classical processes. The contribution of artificial intelligence to quantify the uncertainty is tested in a case study. For this an artificial neural network / convolutional neural network was trained and tested on a collection of historical photographs.
