The rise of AI and the epidemic situation bring about the implementation of virtual hiring practices. Our proposed Mock-Interview Platform (MIP) is a mock-interview software that provides users with up-to-date interview questions and AI-assisted feedback. This study designed a video interview platform to assist recruiters in effectively selecting potential candidates and provide job candidates a means to conduct mock interviews. The platform integrates visual, audio, and textual features to analyze emotions, head pose, voice, DISC personality traits, and intrinsic traits, as well as evaluate the overall interview performance. The experiment results showed that the prediction scores produced by the platform yielded satisfactory outcomes.

Python programming has gained popularity in various fields due to rich libraries and short coding features. We have developed Programming Learning Assistant System (PLAS) for self-study of Python Programming. Previously, we presented Code Modification Problem (CMP) for studying data visualization operations for data analysis. A CMP instance consists of one source code and two images. One image represents the output of the code, and the other is the output of the answer code from a student and it should be obtained by modifying the given code. The correctness of any answer is verified through string matching with the correct one. In this paper, we present CMP for Excel operations by extending previous works. A hint function is implemented for each CMP instance to assist learners in solving it. We generated 25 CMP instances using Python codes for various Excel operations using pandas and confirmed the validity from the application results to students in Okayama University.

With the continuous development of intelligent manufacturing technology, in order to meet the diversified needs of network and computing power for intelligent applications in the shipbuilding process, 5G technology and edge computing technology are applied in the traditional 4G/WLAN networks, thus forming the 5G converged shipbuilding network. In order to support massive intelligent services under the converged network in the shipyard, the mechanism for access control and QoS (Quality of Services) management need further researches. In this paper, the 5G converged shipbuilding network based on digital twin is studied, and an efficient and reliable method for multi-mode terminal access and multi-QoS management is proposed. This method continuously constructs the communication environment of digital-twin network through data collection from the physical network, and performs detailed network simulation and mapping through RL (Reinforcement Learning) in digital-twin network to achieve scheduling optimization. The decisions made in digital-twin network are delivered to the physical network to achieve efficient and reliable multi-mode terminal access and multi-QoS management. The simulation results show that the proposed new architecture and method effectively can improve the efficiency of 5G converged network in the shipyard.

This paper provides a deep reinforcement learning motion planning algorithm that uses time series image information as input. In this paper, we use a special visual state structure. This structure is composed of two kinds of sensor data. We combine the monocular visual information compressed by the variational autoencoder (VAE) and the inertial measurement unit (IMU) data. Then we use four consecutive combinations of the sensor data as the state of the reinforcement learning model. This method greatly simplifies the neural network complexity of continuous action space deep reinforcement learning on visual control tasks. After training in a drone simulation environment, this method has been proven to enable the drone to learn to avoid obstacles of various shapes and obstacles on the side blind corner of the camera.

In order to reduce the positioning errors that occur in BLE beacons positioning and improve the accuracy of indoor positioning to a level that can be used to collect nursing care history, we proposed two methods: one is to use the average of the coordinates calculated by multiple 3-points sets as the final estimated coordinates, and the other is to use only the RSSI from nearby BLE beacons to create fingerprints for position estimation. We implemented the “receiver” software in JavaScript for RSSI observation from the BLE beacons. We conducted an evaluation experiment of the proposed method using the RSSI excluding outliers by k-NN, and confirmed that the accuracy of the proposed method is higher than that of the conventional method and that it achieves the target accuracy. We proposed a method of position estimation using fingerprint with real-time RSSI observed at a fixed point, and confirmed that it exceeded the target accuracy and reached a higher accuracy.

To assist self-studies of C programming at home by novice students, we have studied the grammar-concept under-standing problem (GUP), the value trace problem (VTP), and the phase fill-in-blank problem (PFP) as introductory programming exercise problems. A GUP instance asks the keyword in a given source code that corresponds to the grammar concept described in the question. A VTP instance asks the value of an important variable or message in the code. A PFP instance asks a set of elements or a message to be filled in for each blank in the code. In any instance, the correctness of an answer is marked through string matching with the correct one. In this paper, we present a study of three introductory problems to novice students. We generated GUP/VTP/PFP instances by following the C programming course curriculum in Nihon University, Japan, and assigned them to its first-year undergraduate students who solved them at home for the course review before the final examination. The solution results reveal difficulty differences among the three introductory problems and three student groups in terms of solution performances.

During the last years, a disease with a higher incidence in children and adolescents has been observed, being this the bone weakness, which can be the beginning of chronic bone diseases and future bone cancer, that is why our objective is to detect bone weakness in children and adolescents through anthropometric indicators in the high Andean areas of Peru, specifically in the city of Arequipa. Applying various data mining techniques that allow a deep analysis and prediction that these algorithms indicate after training. We worked with data from 1511 people between children and adolescents. The Knowledge Discovery in Databases methodology was used to perform data pre-training. When applying the classification algorithms, it was obtained that 2 out of 5 people among children and adolescents suffer from bone weakness, with an accuracy of 97% and an AUROC of 0.934, this value being reached by the Support Vector Machine algorithm.

Nowadays, a vital part of the instructional role of teachers is to instill the 4 C's of 21st century skills in students in or beyond the classroom, since they are the competencies that all health science students need to succeed in their future careers. Therefore, it is important to design an instructional model to enable students to develop such skills, with necessary measures that indicate that students achieve the learning objectives. In this study, a model of instructional management based on web-based learning was developed. The Pharmacotherapy 1 course in our department of pharmacology and toxicology was selected. The case-based learning model started with small groups of students being given the case scenarios in which they exercised their problem- solving skills and cooperative learning. The students were assigned tasks (case content and problems) on web platform, after which they are to follow the 3 steps of class activities: (1) self and group study before class, (2) in class discussion and (3) after class evaluation. Then, the learning outcomes and skills achieved by the students, as well as comments from teachers and students were evaluated for further improvements. It was shown that students gained the knowledge and developed critical thinking and problem solving, and professional practice skills as expected. When students were asked to self-assess their knowledge and skills, they found that their knowledge and skills increased. Furthermore, they were also satisfied with this teaching approach. This study shows that this teaching model is suitable for online teaching with good outcomes from both teachers' and students' perspectives.

Danmaku is a special kind of short text, highly associated with video content, with few features and sparse semantics. Existing methods only consider the text itself and are not suitable for sentiment analysis of danmaku. To solve the above problems, a dataset of time-based synchronized videos for annotation is firstly constructed. Then, a dual-channel sentiment analysis method based on text and time is proposed. The text channel uses ERNIE and TextCNN to extract the deep semantic features of words and characters of danmaku, which introduces external knowledge and enhances the feature representation; the temporal features associate danmaku with the video content; after feature fusion, the BiLSTM combined with attention mechanism is used for sentiment classification. The experiment results show that the method is better than the mainstream models and can be effectively applied to the sentiment analysis of danmaku.

Effective communication is critical in the healthcare setting to ensure the safety and quality of patient care. To increase the accuracy and efficiency of communication, specific communication protocols have been developed. However, the current teaching of communication protocols remains in the theoretical realm, lack of effective training methods and practice environment. The purpose of this research is to assist communication training in healthcare professional education. We begin by designing communication tasks and collecting conversations on real-world handover cases. Then we propose Heallo – a computer conversational system that provides simulated scenarios for healthcare communication tasks. Specifically, Heallo converses with the user in a simulated communication task, assuming the role of the receiver. After the conversation, it will analyze the entire communication history and generate a detailed evaluation report based on the communication protocol. Heallo has received positive responses from healthcare professionals and has been incorporated into a hospital training program.
