Translation Errors Among Bilingual Arabic Language Students: Collocations as an Example 双语阿拉伯语学生的翻译错误:以搭配为例

The study of translation by bilingual female students studying Arabic had not received much attention, especially with regard to the cultural errors that these students made during English-Arabic translations, which resulted in them making mistakes in translation. This prompted the researchers to focus on this area. The main objective of this article is to explore common errors in English-Arabic collocation translation among Arabic students in the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gusau and identify possible reasons for them. The researchers used a qualitative analysis approach, adopting an evaluation instrument. A semi-structured interview was also conducted among the sample group in order to find out the causes of the errors. The results showed that the students encountered errors in translation collocations, which included lexical and grammatical collocations. Reasons for these errors included: a lack of collocations knowledge, a lack of special books and dictionaries of collocations and an inability to identify an equivalent to English collocations in the Arabic language. This study is extremely important for students of Arabic, scholars, and English-Arabic translators, as it alerts them to common errors in English-Arabic translation.

Services to Prepare Students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities for the Transition from School to Adult Life 帮助智障及发展障碍学生从学校过渡到成人生活的服务

Transitioning to adult life is considered one of the most critical phases in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). While studies have been published pertaining to the provision of transition services for students with IDD in some developed countries, such as the United States of America, little research has been carried out in this area in Saudi Arabia. This research gap is consistent with the lack of evidence-based services in Saudi Arabia to assist students with IDD in preparing for and transitioning to adult life. This study describes the provision of services supporting the transition for secondary students with IDD in Saudi Arabia, using the Taxonomy for Transition Programming developed by Kohler (1996) as a framework. Semi-structured interviews are conducted with eight special education teachers working with students with IDD. The results reveal four main findings: (a) the lack of transition services, (b) insufficient teacher preparation in transition services, (c) poor family-school relationships, and (d) teacher willingness to use the Taxonomy for transition programming with students. The study concludes with a discussion of the research limitations and recommendations. Physical and Chemical Treatment Effects on the Germination of Pear Seeds (Pyrus Communis L.) 理化处理对梨种子萌发的影响

Pear (Pyrus communis L.) is one of the important species of fruits that are widely cultivated in Syria. Seed propagation of the pear is an important way to obtain seedlings to be used as grafting assets, but the method of seed propagation is difficult due to the effect of dormancy factors in germination. The research was carried out during 2020 and 2021 to study the effects of stratification for three periods (30–60–90 days) using ascorbic acid at a concentration of 100 mg/L, and potassium nitrate at a concentration of 0.3% for breaking the dormancy of pear seeds. The results showed that the best averages were at stratification for 60 days and gave the percentage of germination as 31%, and the speed of germination at 1.28 seeds/day. Additionally, treatments of seed soaking with ascorbic acid or potassium nitrate (without stratification) contributed to improving the germination percentage to 7.67% and 3.67%, respectively, with significant differences compared with the control (1%). The best results were with stratification treatment for 60 days with ascorbic acid, where the percentage of germination reached 49.67% and the germination speed increased to 3.91 seeds/day, in addition to reducing the period required for germination to 21 days.

The Determination of Heterosis and Combining Ability for Qualitative Characteristics in Tobacco Using Half-Diallel Cross 用半双列杂交测定烟草品质性状的杂种优势和配合力

The experiment was carried out during two seasons in 2021–2023, in a nursery at the Faculty of Agriculture, Tishreen University, Lattakia, Syria, by cultivating three tobacco genotypes: Prilep, Basma, and Baladi. A half-diallel cross was made between different genotypes of tobacco. In the following season, an evaluation of the parents and individual crosses was performed, which were then distributed according to the randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replicates to estimate the heterosis, general combining ability (GCA), and specific combining ability (SCA), and the nature of gene action of sugar, nicotine, protein, and chloride content. Genetic analysis showed the importance of additive and dominant effects on heredity in all studied characteristics. The variance ratio of GCA to SCA was more significant than the one for nicotine and protein content. Still, the ratio appeared to be less than one for other studied traits (sugar and chloride content). The Baladi parent exhibited a high GCA for sugar and chloride content, while the Prilep parent showed a high GCA for protein content. Further, the hybrid Prilep × Baladi exhibited the highest SCA for sugar, protein, and chloride content with the highest values for heterosis for the studied characteristics.

Crenotherapy using Spring Thermal Water in Western Algeria and its Effectiveness Against Kidney Stones 阿尔及利亚西部的温泉热水疗法及其对肾结石的疗效

Water is a natural resource with multiple uses. It is precious and important; therefore, it must meet the standard criteria. The goal of this project is to verify and estimate the physicochemical and bacteriological quality of water from the Dar Bentata source and its therapeutic benefits in medical diseases. These analyses covered several physicochemical water parameters. These parameters are temperature, hydrogen potential, MO, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solid (TDS), turbidity, O2, total hardness, alkalinity, color, Cl- ; SO42- ; NO3- ; NO2- ; HCO3- ; Ca2+, Mg2+ ; K+ ; PO4-3 , and Na+… ,and a certain number of bacteriological parameters such as total germs, total fecal coliforms, fecal streptococci, and Clostridium sulfitor. Three water points were sampled for five days during December 2021. The different hydrochemical facies of the Dar Bentata were used to determine the quality of the water. The results show that this water source is sodium chloride in nature and has therapeutic properties for calcium lithiasis. Improving Teachers’ Teaching Skills Using Co-Teaching: The Saudi Context 利用合作教学提高教师的教学技能:沙特语境

This study explored the significance and impact of co-teaching on teacher's teaching skills. In doing so, the study considered whether the practice is worth implementing and some of the strategies that could help with successful implementation for maximum benefits. A qualitative approach was used, and the primary instrument for collecting the data was semi-structured interviews. The sample comprised 13 Saudi Arabian teachers who had some experience or knowledge of co-teaching. Data analysis using thematic analysis revealed five themes. The first theme revolves around the teachers’ knowledge and experiences with co-teaching. The second theme is the impact of co-teaching on the skills and teaching styles of the teachers, while the third theme concerns the benefits of co-teaching for students. The fourth theme is related to factors affecting the successful implementation of co-teaching, and the fifth theme is concerned with the important factors for successful implementation of co-teaching. The conclusion highlights some of the steps that can be taken to improve the implementation process for positive outcomes and the roles of all stakeholders in the process. Revealing of Potential Plant Growth-Enhancing Traits Through In Silico Genomic Analysis of Bacillus Rhizoplanae CIP111899 通过对根状芽孢杆菌CIP111899的计算机基因组分析揭示潜在的植物促生长性状

The objective of this study was to examine the whole genome of the bacterial strain CIP111899, isolated from the root surface of maize (Zea mays), in order to reveal the presence of genes implicated in enhancing plant growth. The genome-based taxonomy revealed that strain CIP111899 belongs to a new species called Bacillus rhizoplanae. In the second step, the genome of CIP111899 was analyzed on multiple levels using various information tools. This involved examining functional categories associated with genes using analytical techniques, namely, annotation using the RAST server, then identifying growth-promoting genes with the Prokka program, and finally detecting groups of genes responsible for secondary metabolism through antiSMASH analysis. The results of the genomic analysis of strain CIP111899 showed the presence of multiple genes that enhance stress tolerance, such as those encoding enzymes and antioxidants (superoxide dismutase, peroxidases, and catalase). Additionally, various plant growth-promoting genes were identified, including those involved in the solubility of inorganic phosphorus, phytohormone production, and iron uptake. In conclusion, strain CIP111899 has shown promise as a potential agent for promoting plant growth and thereby improving food security due to its genetic composition.

The Role of Women in Islamic Civilization: A Historical Reading in Khorasan 妇女在伊斯兰文明中的角色:呼罗珊的历史解读

The importance of this research lay in the study of the pivotal role played by women in Islamic civilization. Through an evaluation of the political and cultural sides in Khorasan during the ninth and tenth centuries AD (third and fourth AH), it had the aim of revealing the truth about this role and its most prominent stages by following the historical descriptive analytical approach, based on collecting scientific material from its perspectives and then dividing and analyzing it to reach the specified goal. The research dealt with the study in the light of a number of axes: the first being the linguistic and geographical significance of the Khorasan region; the second, dealing with the political role of women in Khorasan through analyzing the most important political events that highlighted and referred to this role; and the third, discussing the role of women in Khorasan socially, culturally. religiously, and economically. The research concluded that the political and cultural influence of women in Khorasan reached its peak in the ninth and tenth centuries AD (third and fourth AH). The historical narratives referred to the active role of Khorasani women scientifically and culturally, and their influential role in objecting to the negative manifestations created by the feudal system and the land ownership system in the economic and social conditions of the time. Transitioning Away from an Oil-based Economy through Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 通过沙特阿拉伯的2030年愿景,从石油经济转型

To modify the economy and make it less dependent on oil, several initiatives were launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2016 under the Saudi Vision 2030 umbrella. This study looked at the financial impact of Saudi Vision 2030 and assessed whether non-oil industries have responded as desired. Since the implementation of Saudi Vision 2030, several industries have demonstrated noteworthy accomplishments and contributed to the GDP of Saudi Arabia. Three such industries—tourism, small and medium-sized enterprises, and the “Saudi Made” logo campaign—were the subject of this study. The analytical objective of this research was to determine if these industries strengthen the economy of the country and ultimately lessen its dependency on oil revenue. This analysis utilized secondary data gathered from published news, online articles, and various public sector records, including government and private bodies through their annual reports, alongside figures from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority. The results indicate that gains are being made toward the strategic objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030. Comparative Genomic Analysis of Bacterial Strain PL and Detection of Sustainable Bio-Electricity Producing Features 菌株PL的比较基因组分析及可持续生物发电特性检测

This study aimed to analyze the whole genome of the bacterial strain PL, isolated from pond sediment, to evaluate its genetic characteristics in the degradation of waste and toxic substrates and the generation of bioelectricity. This was compared to the type strain of the bacterial species Geobacter sulfurreducens (G. sulfurreducens) (PCA) and the strain KN400. Genomic taxonomy on the TYGS platform established the affiliation of strain PL with the bacterial species G. sulfurreducens. Subsequently, a genomic study of strains PL, PCA, and KN400 was performed using various bioinformatics tools. These included the study of genes associated with functional categories (COG) through genome annotation using the RAST server, followed by gene identification using the Prokka program to discover and identify genes related to electricity production. The results of the genomic analysis of the PL strain showed that it possesses many genes necessary for generating electric current. These included genes related to the formation of thick biofilms, adhesion to the anode of microbial fuel cells (MFCs), oxidation of various substrates and environmental pollutants, and extracellular electron transfer. Overall, the obtained results indicate that the PL strain is a promising candidate for sustainable bioenergy generation.
