This paper deals with the transdisciplinary research area of border studies, in the context of ethnological and anthropological research in Southeast Europe. Border studies have expanded in the last three decades due to paradigmatic and sociopolitical shifts, with visible transfer of focus towards the issues of ?diffusion? of border practices and discourses sometimes termed as b/ordering. Europe and the Balkans experienced contradictory processes of parallel relaxation and abolishing of certain borders, while others are being tightened and established, which is also interpreted anthropologically. Once thought of as specific, Balkans (re)bordering of the 1990s found its b/ordering descendants in the last 20 years throughout Europe and the general rise of border thinking. Besides the traditional approach focusing on liminal and borderlands communities, anthropology in Southeast Europe has also started to investigate not only local communities, but also so-called mobile communities. Anthropology also possesses methodological capacity to discern b/ordering practices and discourses stemming from spatial borders which are not solely induced by the nation-state, and to grasp not only spatial, but also temporal aspects of b/ordering. By combining the ethnographic method, local focus and by primarily researching permanent or contemporary communities defined by the borders and b/ordering, ethnology and anthropology in this part of Europe can substantially contribute to the border studies.

Pursuant to the insight into the personal files of Kosta P. Manojlovic (1890-1949) and other relevant archival materials, deposited in the Archives of Serbia and the Archives of Yugoslavia, the paper examines the issue of the beginnings of the complex professional career of this composer, music life organizer, music performer, writer and pedagogue. Starting from the peculiarities related to the career in the field of music, an extremely important and delicate phase of the transition from the stage of education to the first professional activities has been analysed. Beginning with the correspondence connected with the career development of Kosta P. Manojlovic at a significant moment in Serbian music history and using an interdisciplinary approach, the important aspects of the first development phases of the musician?s professional career have been pointed out. In particular, most attention has been paid to the transition from education to work, which, in the case of the Oxford graduate, was complicated, not only because of the composer?s life circumstances, the World War I which had ended recently, time constraints, but also because of significant differences in education systems between the UK and the newly established Kingdom of SCS. From the very beginning, Manojlovic?s career has shown its multifunctional, changeable, and dynamic sides, but also certain constants, among which his distinct inclination towards the national tradition stands out. Regardless of the significant differences in the relation between the present time, characterised by rapid technological changes, merging of digital technologies with almost all spheres of life and work, new ways of communication and numerous global phenomena, and the period in which an ?idealist romantic? Manojlovic built his own career, some of the most important aspects related to the career development of a professional musician have not changed. Reliance on personal capacities, musical talent, creativity, flexibility, realism and a good assessment of one?s own potentials, but also on the quality of education, entrepreneurship, networking and maintaining a quality relationship with the mentor have been noticed as extremely significant.

The subject of this article is the ideological basis on which the study of the history of pedagogy in Serbia in the 19th century was based. The aim of the paper was to analyze the scientific and socio-ideological starting points in the conception of the history of pedagogy in Serbia. As a teaching discipline, the history of pedagogy in the research period was placed within the framework of professional education of primary school teachers and pedagogues. Therefore, the goals and tasks of the history of pedagogy were adjusted not only to the achievements of this scientific discipline in Europe at the time, but also to the projected goal of the overall education in Serbia. Textbooks on the history of pedagogy published in this period (until 1902) represent the basic source for the anal?ysis of the ideological foundations on which teaching in the field of the history of education was based. This analysis shows that the history of pedagogy was understood as a suitable means of harmonizing the spread of Christian principles with a ?rational educational approach?, so that over time there was an increasingly professional reflection on the possibilities of using educational theories in pedagogical practice. At the same time, there was a growing awareness of the influence of general cultural history on the development of pedagogical theories, as well as the importance of the national pedagogical heritage.

Even though the last decades have witnessed an increased educational interest in the Holocaust, there is no single response to what topics should be incorporated into the Holocaust curricula. This paper aims to compare the teaching preferences in selecting Holocaust-related topics in good practices of two education systems, namely Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and England (United Kingdom). Research questions were focused on determin?ing similarities and differences across the two systems and identifying relevant and original teaching practices to be shared and exchanged. Four history teach?ers from Republika Srpska and four English history teachers were interviewed. Questionnaires were distributed to 32 students from Republika Srpska and 21 from England. The quantitative data reveal that historical background has a more ostensible impact on the Republika Srpska education system. Significant dis?crepancies in teachers? and students? preferences have been identified in both systems. Qualitative data revealed original English teaching ideas potentially useful for the Republika Srpska educators teaching the Holocaust, persecution of the Serbs in the Second World War and addressing recent Yugoslav wars. Many of the identified practices might be helpful to educators beyond the two education systems.

Becoming the second world economy and one of the most active, assertive, but vulnerable actors too, China was urged to bring new understanding of the Global Governance. However, that understanding has to be widely accepted by the international community. Hence, China offered international partners peaceful development diplomatic discourse. The first part of the paper is theoretical framework. The definition of our research subject is grounded on relational theory, moral realism theory of international relations and political economic concept of structural power. The second part of the paper tackles the idea of Global Governance and how China perceives it in achieving foreign and domestic policy, security and economic goals. The third part analyses the discourse of peaceful development with focus on strategic reasons that pushed China to pursue it in its foreign policy. This will be helpful to understand why China insists that diplomacy is very much needed activity in its ambitions in becoming the global superpower.

Changes in speech may be the only evidence of neurological disease in the early stages of its evolution and sometimes the only significant symptom in a pro?gressive neurological condition. The relationship between speech and motor control of speech is complex and two-way, and systematic research into the nature of these interactive processes has the potential to deepen our understanding of the typical as well as patho?logical development of speech. The aim of this paper is to present the basic diagnostic characteristics of motor speech disorders in the early period based on a review of the relevant literature, with an emphasis on diagnosis and early intervention. The literature search was performed through the Google Scholar Advanced Search search engine and the Consortium of Libraries of Serbia for Unified Procurement - KoBSON. The multi?factorial nature of motor speech disorders indicates that effective diagnosis and treatment planning require a dynamic, process-oriented approach aimed at describing the underly?ing deficits that characterize these disorders. A review of previous studies shows that recognizing and understanding motor speech disorders contributes to a more complete clinical understanding of other conditions related to motor speech disorders, allowing us a better insight into the treatment of motor speech disorders. Accurate diagnostic methods and effective early intervention programs are crucial to limit the short-term and long-term negative impact of motor speech disorders on an individual?s quality of life.

In the following article, the authors will explore Matija Nenadovic in order to highlight the importance of one of the leaders of the First Serbian Uprising in the process of Serbian returning to the historical scene, after falling into centuries-long slavery under the Ottomans. Nenadovic is important in many ways for understanding the problem of Serbian real rehistorization - as regaining the capacity for historical action of Serbs - both as an actor and a witness, but also as someone who appears to seek to reflexively appropriate and authoritatively shape the emerging Serbian history. It turns out that the transition from Ottoman, non-European premodernity to own-statehood-substantitated modernization in freedom can be taken as the red thread of integrally observed unity of Nenadovic?s actions and reflections.

The multifaceted content of public interest pertaining to some subjects of the legal order has not been the subject matter of thorough theoretical consideration in literature, which does not recognize the need to clearly distinguish the concept of public interest from the concepts of general interest and private interest in the legal order of a state governed by laws (Rechtsstaat). There are substantial differences between public interest, general interest and private interest. General interests are dynamic expressions of the general (common) good. Private interests are dynamic expressions of private legal goods of individual subjects of the legal order. Public interest is a relational determinant in the legal order of a state governed by laws. Thus, unlike general interests and private interests as substantial categories, public interest has a relational character, as it serves to regulate relations between legal interests as substantial categories. In the order of a legal state (Rechtsstaat), public interest is a regulatory determinant of various goods and interests, which is anchored in-between general, special and private interests, public and private sphere, publicity and privacy, the interventionism of public authorities and the civil society, the institutional order of the public authority and the institutional order of the territorial.

The pursuit of married life is the result of the universal need of humanity. Finding a close person with whom a person is bound by unbreakable bonds of love is a significant factor in the life of every man and woman. Traditionally, marriage is considered a lifelong social institution - however, in the last seven decades, both in the world and in the Republic of Serbia, marriage and family relations have undergone many and strong changes. Modern demographic- statistical research indicates that in the past seventy years (in the period from 1950 to 2020) complex demographic processes took place in the Re?public of Serbia, initiated by strong natural, socio-economic and external factors that unequivocally influenced and today affect marriages, and thus the transition of marriages in the Republic of Serbia. Qualitatively-Quantitative analysis determined: length of marriage, age of spouse in case of divorce, divorces in relation to education and spouse nationality. The research results show that men and women are entering the marriage, but later divorce. When concluding and divorcing a marriage, the difference in age between spouses is slightly more than three years on average - men are most commonly older than women. Due to long-term suffering of some form of violence, women most often initiate a divorce. The length of marriage in the Republic of Serbia has an oscillatory course. The average age of husband and wife at divorce is increasing. In the structure of divorced marriages accord?ing to education, marriages with secondary education are dominant. The most represented ethnic community in divorces are Serbs as well as Orthodox in terms of confessions, due to their majority share in the total population of the country.

Maurice Halbwachs? name has become familiar, in America, with the emergence (and proliferation) of memory studies, yet references to his work tend to be superficial or totemic. This translation and commentary of a remarkable tribute written by Pierre Bourdieu in 1987 sheds light on his methodological and political commitments. It provides a finer grained picture of Halbwachs as a scholar, sociologist, and product of the post-Bonapartist French system of education in the late 19th century, a context of commitment to human progress, while showing, in greater detail, the nature of the German sociology of the 1930s and 1940s that Bourdieu argues we should consider is directly related to the Shoah in which Halbwachs died.
