Ignacio Zuloaga and Maxime Dethomas produced the sets of Enrique Granados' opera Goyescas for its Parisian premiere in 1919. We present new data about their work thanks to the study of the letters preserved in the Archives du Theatre National de l’Opera, the discovery of two unpublished models of the first and third Goyescas acts and a rich photographic material. Through this article we study these works in their production context, analyzing the sources used by their creators.

The Swiss artist Emma Kunz (1892-1963) developed a rich production of energetic patterns, which assumed a visual and symbolic proximity to yantras and mandalas. Although no reliable data have been found in this regard, according to the bibliography consulted, as well as the contributions made by the creator's own museum, it is believed that she read the alchemical literature of Paracelsus and Christian texts, as well as written sources of hermetic schools. The majority of her graphics was made for therapeutic purposes, in the belief that they emitted a wave form in a way that could affect the patient or viewer when they were viewed.

Frans Masereel's contribution to the renewal of avant-garde language is transcendent. The unity of his plastic discourse protects his evolution in the various cultivated procedures. The Belgian artist exceeds the expectations aroused by the German Expressionists of the first quarter of the 20th century. From the hemerographic and historiographic documentary sources, the trajectory of the xylographer and his exile, the fruit of his pacifist commitment, is analyzed. His social creed, attested in the works conceived during his extensive period of activity, is not eluded either.

In 1935 the Prado Museum's audience had the opportunity to admire the Holy Ark (c. 1096-1101) belonging to the Oviedo Cathedral, one of the most unique reliquaries of European Romanesque and an essential piece of the Holy Chamber, outside its usual setting for the first time. This display was connected to its restoration at the Instituto Valencia de Don Juan. The extensive historiography on this masterpiece barely contains any entries about this exhibition, which we now narrate it here, based on unpublished documents.

Por una parte, se revisan las diferentes opciones y las tendencias mas usuales que siguieron aquellas alumnas interesadas en la formacion artistica. En segundo lugar, se intenta identificar de que manera influyo tal educacion femenina en la produccion y en el modo de vida de estas artistas. On the one hand, the text examines the different options and the most usual tendencies followed by those female interested in artistic training. La dilatada actividad de Julio Sáenz de Barés constituye un elocuente testimonio del panorama arquitectónico español del momento, en especial de Bilbao, ciudad donde se asentó y cuyo desarrollo urbanístico, arquitectónico y cultural, amparado por su dinamismo económico, aspiró a convertirla en "la Atenas del norte". Destacó por su incesante búsqueda de oportunidades en un tiempo apasionante y competitivo, dejando amplia huella en un extenso territorio a través, fundamentalmente, de sus intervenciones en la arquitectura doméstica con características muy heterogéneas.

Aldeas extintas y arquitectura románica inédita en el alfoz medieval de Almoguera (Guadalajara)

Solo en la provincia de Guadalajara, hemos constatado la existencia de mas de medio centenar de casos en los que se conservan testimonios fisicos de los antiguos templos parroquiales de los siglos XII y XIII. Los seis que aqui se presentan, encuadrados en el Alfoz de Almoguera, revelan una informacion significativa acerca de los sistemas constructivos, planimetrias y repertorios ornamentales empleados en el romanico alcarreno. EnglishThe deserted medieval villages offer a substantial field of work from the documentary and archaeological perspective, but it is important to emphasize the contributions that their study can give to the History of Art. In the province of Guadalajara, we have found more than fifty cases in which physical evidences of the old parish churches from the 12th and 13th centuries are conserved. The six presented in this paper, located in the alfoz of Almoguera, offer a significant information about the construction systems, planimetries and ornamental repertoires used in the Romanesche arquitecture of La Alcarria. francaisLes depeuples medievaux chretiens offrent un champ de travail substantiel du point de vue documentaire et archeologique, mais il faut souligner les contributions que leur etude peut offrir a l'Histoire de l'Art. The six presented in this paper, located in the alfoz of Almoguera, offer a significant information about the construction systems, planimetries and ornamental repertoires used in the Romanesche arquitecture of La Alcarria. francaisLes depeuples medievaux chretiens offrent un champ de travail substantiel du point de vue documentaire et archeologique, mais il faut souligner les contributions que leur etude peut offrir a l'Histoire de l'Art. Dans la province de Guadalajara, nous avons verifie l’existence de plus de cinquante cas dans lesquels sont conserves des temoignages materiels des anciens temples paroissiaux des XII et XIII siecles. This article analyzes the work done by the illustrator Salvador Azpiazu together with the Sevillian writer Jose Gestoso in The Artistic Illustration, magazine of chronicles of the late nineteenth century. Thanks to the correspondence preserved, as well as the accounting documentation of the Barcelona publisher Montaner and Simon, personal and professional relationships can be established between them.
