The study discusses some aspects of sports communication and linguistic worldview with due regard to national and cultural parameters. In particular, the authors of the article study sport phraseological units with coloronim-components in Russian and French. They describe various components of sports worldview in two linguistic cultures, whose key element is the linguistic personality of a common native speaker. Empirical data are analyzed and interpreted on the basis of the linguo-semiotic approach, i.e., within the framework of a discourse statement and at the level of the nominative fund of Russian and French. Sports terms are considered at the level of general linguistic and ethno-cultural dominants of national jargons. The hypothesis is that the structure of any discourse is based on the use of professional and jargon (in particular sports) terms. Their semantics correlates with the linguistic self-identification of each nation.

The article examines changes in the Russian media system during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic: the dynamics of the coronavirus agenda, traffic, monetization features. The analysis of media content allowed us to determine the leading topics in the disclosure of the coronavirus agenda within three periods corresponding to the key moments in the development of the situation with COVID-19 in the world and in Russia during the first wave of the virus: the first mentions of the new virus, news from China, Italy and other countries where the sick appeared; a sharp increase in the number of news items directly related to coronavirus infection; along with medical topics, the problems of getting out of self-isolation. The article also describes the changes that have occurred in the editorial policy of the media: technologies for preparing journalistic texts, linguistic marketing.

This quasi-experimental study intended to consider the role of using CALL-based and gloss-mediated vocational vocabulary learning and its impact on vocabulary knowledge. The study used five different majors. For each major, there were two classes, so the researcher conveniently selected one class as the control group and the second class as the experimental group. Thus, five classes as the control groups (each field of study one class) and five classes as the experimental groups (each field of study one class). The total number of participants was 210, that 106 learners were in the control groups and 104 were in the experimental groups. The overall findings revealed that the treatment groups outperformed the control groups. Therefore, using computer-based glossing information leads to better performance in vocabulary knowledge and vocabulary retention.

The paper deals with pedagogical innovations related to the basic and foreign language training at Maritime University. The research aims to develop didactic means of training in the context of interactive technologies and the digitalization of maritime education. Considering contradictions between increasing opportunities of distance learning and insufficient development of its didactic support, we highlighted the problem, the subject, and the hypothesis of the study. The results of the experimental training course show that level of training in the experimental group of students is significantly higher than in the control group. The results obtained confirm the research hypothesis that implementing didactic complexes in distance learning format with computer support increases the efficiency of professional competencies and digital literacy skills developing in the course of training.

The article discusses the morphological categories of the Azerbaijani language educational. The article also compares the use of case categories, and Northern dialects. In addition, the types of spelling and the number of cases of nouns in Oghuz and Kipchak languages and their integration with each other, as well as comparisons with other Turkic languages were made. The article discusses a single system of phonetic differences in the resolution of nouns. All names, all words, including infinitives are used in Turkish languages. According to their meanings and syntactic function, they are divided into two groups: grammatical and spatial. As an example, in most Turkish languages, six cases are accepted - noun, possessive, directional, influential, local and speech. However, Kazakh, Karachay-Balkar, Chuvash and others. In languages, there are two additional forms of conjugation and consonant. Therefore, the aim of this study was to teach elements of kipchak language in North Azerbaijani groups with emphasis on educational materials in the mother tongue.

The study is devoted to the consideration of the communicative types of "Romeo" and "Othello" in the Russian and English linguistic consciousness. The comparison involves the data of quantitative linguistics obtained using the method of continuous sampling from the corpus of the corresponding languages. The research is carried out within the framework of the cognitive-discursive paradigm of modern linguistics and is based on the basic categories and terminological tools of the corresponding section of linguistics. The comparison made it possible to establish significant differences in the perception of the communicative types of "Romeo" and "Othello" and a significant difference in word usage. In the case of both types and in both types of discourse, a complex character is reduced to a single characteristic feature. However, these traits are different in different traditions.

The authors explore the Avar language, which has not yet been sufficiently studied and is waiting for a detailed linguistic characterization by specialists. Following the scientific tradition of reconstruction of the protolanguage, this question is relevant for the Avar language: the language on which Avar is based is not historically attested, unlike in the case of French, whose development can be traced back over the centuries. Comparative study of Caucasian languages has become especially popular in recent years. The choice of French, one of the most scrutinized languages of global cultural significance, as the external etalon is explained not only by the lack of similar works in Avar linguistic literature but also by the fact that French linguists, who have long been researching Caucasian languages, particularly Avar, regrettably, neglect the comparative aspect of research.

While studying a foreign culture, we compare it with the native culture. In our case, we bring France, Russia, and Yakutia (a region of the Russian Federation) as an example. This paper focuses on the description of cultural aspects and the importance of games in the educational process in teaching a foreign language among the bachelor’s degree teachers and students of non-linguistic educational institutions. This approach enriches the educational process with cultural knowledge and prepares them for intercultural communication. The paper aims to determine the effectiveness of using a non-traditional form of teaching a foreign language – a game that contributes most to increasing student motivation. The paper determines and lists the main trends of the educational process on this issue, the methods of implementing cultural aspects as a form of creativity in teaching a foreign language in the process of their professional training.

The purpose of the study is to study the degree to which differential features of nouns in the prepositional case that explicate the periphery stage of parenthetic-modal units and expressions on the transitivity scale match, on the one hand, the differential features of nuclear representatives of nouns, and on the other hand, the features of nuclear representatives of parenthetic-modal units originating from adjectives. It is established that when used as a detached parenthetic-modal component of the utterance, "po sovesti" reaches the periphery zone of parenthetic-modal units. At the same time, the functional modalate that undergoes semantic and grammatical transformations does not disturb the semantic equivalence of the original substantive lexeme. The results of the study can be used when developing the theory of the parts of speech and inter-part-of-speech categories as well as to create the transpositional grammar of the Russian language.

The study analyzes the problem of providing corrective feedback in studying a foreign language at the university as one of the types of feedback between a teacher and a student. The article regards feedback as a way of correcting students’ mistakes in executing control. The paper offers a characteristic of written feedback, identifies its various types and subtypes in terms of their specific characteristics and efficiency of use. Various approaches to the correction of students’ mistakes in writing and speech are analyzed. Particular attention is devoted to the conditions of giving effective feedback. The conducted experimental study of the effectiveness of different types of written corrective feedback between a teacher and a student in the process of foreign language learning concludes that indirect written corrective feedback proves more effective since indirect feedback requires greater participation of the students and their active involvement in the learning process.
