The purpose of the study is to find the optimal conditions for using digital technologies to evaluate learning outcomes and the quality of educational services. The article presents the results of an empirical study (an anonymous online survey) of the attitude of teachers and students in three Russian universities to pedagogical assessment using distance technologies. The educational environments of higher education institutions of different universities have achievements in activating the use of e-technologies and demand for their development in the pedagogical assessment of learning outcomes remains. The main problems hindering the process of introducing remote assessment of the results of teaching linguists using ICT are the lack of highly qualified personnel; insufficient level of readiness of subjects of the educational process for this form of control; difficulty in forming project groups for the development of educational tests; weak feedback and insufficient motivation among teachers and students.

The article examines the knowledge about a person that is represented by language units created during the coronavirus pandemic. These language units are formed using such methods as word-composition, affixation, substantiation, and blending and make up three lexical categories “coronavirus patients”, “law-abiding citizens who comply with antiepidemiological rules” and “violators of antiepidemiological rules”. The characteristics of the concepts represented by the language units of these three categories are described, it is shown that the concepts transmitted by the language units of the categories "law-abiding citizens who observe anti-epidemiological rules" and "violators of anti-epidemiological rules" can be considered as oppositional. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the components used in word-composition and affixes, with the help of which derived units are created.

The purpose of the research is to conduct an experiment to study the impact of translation memory systems (in terms of the use of terminology bases) on the effectiveness of future translators. The article substantiates the relevance of the use of translation memory systems, presents various areas of research on translation automation, considers the possibilities and prospects for the development of CAT systems. Article presents the results of an experimental study that would show how much novice translators rely on translation memory systems and whether they have the vocabulary at the proper level, which is typical for socio-political texts. The obtained results confirmed the hypothesis that when translating the original text by means of a CAT tool using a terminological base with erroneously translated lexical units, the quality of the translation of novice translators will decrease, and it will increase without using a terminological base with erroneously translated lexical units.

While there are numerous studies of educating EFL learners in the literature, story reading has gotten little study attention. However, just a few research studies have looked into story reading and its potential impact on EFL learners' language development. The impact of English Story Reading instruction on EFL learners' performance was investigated in this study. According to the findings, story Reading training increases student engagement, facilitates EFL reading and story-recall compositions. On the other hand, we are dealing with Storytelling, not just for pleasure. This study aims to diagnose the impacts of Storytelling on students' linguistic components of communication abilities and assess the extent to which Storytelling may assist students in improving their communication skills. The results demonstrate that Storytelling improves reading abilities by allowing kids to correlate meanings and emotions with words. Students expand their vocabulary and learn when and how to utilize specific words and phrases.

The social significance of sports and interest in it caused by unpredictable results, dramatic events and acute conflicts make sports attractive to journalists from different mass media working in a variety of genres and formats. Due to the introduction of new communication channels, the use of high technologies and growing competition with online broadcasts, the established system of genres in television journalism has been blurred. It lost its clear typology, merged some genres and broke the traditional canons by adopting hybrid groups of entertainment content (talk show, reality show). Study aims at systematizing such concepts as "genre" and "format" in sports journalism. Television sports broadcasting acts as a special discourse. The authors of the article defined the format of television sports broadcasting and considered its connection with traditional journalistic genres. They also overviewed such a media product as the Russian sports TV channel "Match TV" in terms of its quality.

The paper analyzes the didactics of textbooks on the traditional culture of Yakutian peoples, based on the technology of meta-subject learning, focused on the personally significant intellectual and practical development by students of the life-affirming, human-creating potential of the culture of their native people. To form a holistic understanding of the traditional culture of the indigenous peoples of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) among schoolchildren, the research presents (1) the materials in a wide range in connection with other academic subjects and (2) ethnological, ethno-psychological, and philosophical views of peoples about human life. Today, the search for common ground uniting the unique and distinct cultures of the peoples of the Republic becomes relevant. On such a basis, it is possible to ensure the preservation and prosperity of peoples in the future and their spiritual unity.

The plot of the series “Emily in Paris” is rather simple. It also should be noted that most of the people “Emily” meets are able to converse in English, but find it hard to find equivalents in English for their speech. We should cite first as an example the word “la plouc”, which is used as a reference to Emily’s New York style and manners. It can be translated as “country girl”. “Bonjour, la plouc!” The second French word, which follows Emily is “ringarde”, common in English. A French designer, who sees a fluffy accessory attached to the bag, calls Emily “common”. It is recommended that further research of Code-switching (CS) in series language will be made to examine speaker’s intentions in a larger sample of inclusions, as well as their syntactic structure, semantics, and psychological motivation.
