This paper reflects on immediate and general criticism of newspaper supplements, with the aim of revealing some of the different limits, functions and duties of the literary critic, among others, the place from which it is written, the identification of the public or its journalistic function. To do this, emphasis is placed on a series of conditioning factors that weigh on the critic, especially the meaning and possibilities of his own criticism, framed in a chronic financial crisis and a model for the written press. The assumption of intellectual risk and the acceptance of a primary responsibility by the critic goes through redefining the panorama of the contemporary.

EnglishThese paper shows the relevance of an important part of Marxism, who have begun to think in the crucial role of the circulation and distribution of commodities against the privileged understanding of capitalism through modes of production. In this context, I work on the ideas of value, surplus value and mercantile form. I hold that circulation of capital and capitalism can show, so much better, the actual configu-ration of a particular social spatiality. Para Kurz como para Musil, la escritura ensayistica conjuga a partes iguales y con identico rigor la dimension autobiografica y el analisis historico, la literatura y la historiografia, de ahi que se torne colmado de sentido el intento de establecer una analogia entre ambas escrituras que se inscriben, ademas, en la aneja y luminosa tradicion intelectual austriaca. El fin ultimo de esta aproximacion investigativa seria abonar a una reflexion de largo aliento que tiene lugar acerca del papel que la memoria juega en la redefinicion de los limites intelectuales y eticos de la escritura ensayistica. EnglishThis article analyzes what is the connection between Vienna: another fiction of Andreas Kurz, and the concept of essayism enunci-ated by the Austrian writer Robert Musil in his essays papers and his novel The Man without Qualities. Both Kurz and Musil consider that in essay writing combine by half and with the same rigor, biographical di-mension and historical analysis, literature and historiography, therefore the attempt to establish an analogy between both scriptures that are in-scribed becomes full of meaning, in addition, in the aged and luminous Austrian intellectual tradition. The finally purpose from this paper is add to lengthy reflection that exist about role of memory in the redefinition of intellectual and etic limits of essay writing.

EnglishIn order to explore Kierkegaard’s contributions to literary theory in connection with philosophy, this study addresses two issues: how Goethe introduces Wilhelm Meister’s Apprenticeship into the Shake-spearean drama Hamlet, as a paradigmatic form of the Bildungsroman. This background allows us to assess Kierkegaard’s proposal on what he called “Irony as a Controlled Element” in which Shakespeare also plays an important role. My objective is to present a reading of Hamlet, not exhaustive but detailed, from the most specific features of the Kierkeg-aardian irony.

Garro se convierte en la portavoz y activista que denuncia a traves del ejercicio periodistico y sus estrategias discursivas el despojo de tierras; este contacto con el espacio campesino y su memoria cultural le sirven a la autora como material literario en ulteriores textos de ficcion. La narradora recurre al periodismo y a su experiencia personal para construir su propia version sobre el conflicto campesino a inicios de los anos cincuenta del siglo pasado como una contribucion en la que dejo registro de un tema local que tuvo resonancias a nivel nacional, sobre todo a partir del asesinado del lider campesino Ruben Jaramillo en 1962. EnglishIn the present article some texts of the journalistic production of the Mexican writer Elena Garro in which she addresses the issue of the peasants in Morelos and their struggle to make visible an agrarian conflict and the collusion of the Government in office and the land-owners are reviewed. Garro becomes the spokeswoman and activist who denounces through journalistic exercise and its discursive strategies the land dispossession; this contact with the peasant space and its cultural memory serves the author as literary material in subsequent fiction texts. The narrator uses journalism and her personal experience to construct her own version of the peasant conflict in the early fifties of the last century as a contribution in which she recorded a local issue that had resonances at the national level, especially after of the assassination of the peasant leader Ruben Jaramillo in 1962.

espanolEn el presente trabajo se analiza El obsceno pajaro de la noche desde el dialogo transtextual entre Jose Donoso y Henry James Sr. a partir del epigrafe de la novela, de tal manera que esta se constituye como simbolica al dar cuenta de la tragedia del hombre moderno, encarnado en la figura del personaje “el Mudito”. Como escritores modernos, del romanticismo –James– y de la modernidad hispanoamericana –Donoso–, comparten puntos de encuentro que le permiten al chileno dialogar textualmente con el teologo, y, mas importante aun, transformar sus palabras con una nueva significacion. El dialogo, desde la modernidad, muestra la imperfectabilidad del hombre y la consciencia de su fisura ontologica, conflictos que intentan socavarse con James mediante la espiritualidad y la esperanza en la salvacion; mientras que Donoso, desde un punto de vista literario, proyecta una realidad descarnada al no poder huir de la tragedia. EnglishIn the present work El obsceno pajaro de la noche is analyzed from the transtextual dialogue between Jose Donoso and Henry James Sr. from the epigraph of the novel –which corresponds to the latter–, in such a way that it is constituted as symbolic when accounting for the tragedy of modern man, embodied in the figure of the character “el Mudito”. As modern writers, of romanticism –James– and of Span-ish-American modernity –Donoso–, they share points of contact that allow the Chilean to dialogue with the theologian, and, more impor-tantly, to transform his words with a new meaning. The dialogue, from modernity, shows the imperfectability of man and the awareness of his ontological fissure, conflicts that try to undermine with James through spirituality and hope in salvation; while Donoso, from a literary point of view, projects a stark reality by not being able to flee from tragedy.

Como escritores modernos, del romanticismo –James– y de la modernidad hispanoamericana –Donoso–, comparten puntos de encuentro que le permiten al chileno dialogar textualmente con el teologo, y, mas importante aun, transformar sus palabras con una nueva significacion. El dialogo, desde la modernidad, muestra la imperfectabilidad del hombre y la consciencia de su fisura ontologica, conflictos que intentan socavarse con James mediante la espiritualidad y la esperanza en la salvacion; mientras que Donoso, desde un punto de vista literario, proyecta una realidad descarnada al no poder huir de la tragedia. EnglishIn the present work El obsceno pajaro de la noche is analyzed from the transtextual dialogue between Jose Donoso and Henry James Sr. from the epigraph of the novel –which corresponds to the latter–, in such a way that it is constituted as symbolic when accounting for the tragedy of modern man, embodied in the figure of the character “el Mudito”. As modern writers, of romanticism –James– and of Span-ish-American modernity –Donoso–, they share points of contact that allow the Chilean to dialogue with the theologian, and, more impor-tantly, to transform his words with a new meaning. Mediante un breve recorrido conceptual de corte historico-genealogico, se sugiere una ruta teorica para interrogarse acerca de las bases eticas y epistemologicas de las practicas del archivo en el contexto contemporaneo. EnglishIn this paper the concept of archive is not treated just as a sim-ple form of register, but rather as a series of aesthetic and ethical-political practices that are aimed to influence upon the memory/history frame-work that has come to conform a paradigm. Through a brief histori-cal-genealogical conceptual trip, a theoretical route is suggested in order to be able to interrogate ourselves about the ethical and epistemological bases of the archive practices in the contemporary context.

El autor expone el problema del pensamiento y la practica del mundo occidental posmoderno, donde coinciden la violencia y el abandono de todo soporte natural de los valores. Para buscar una posible solucion examina el concepto de "cuerpo", que cambia de una sociedad a otra marcando el estilo de cada cultura. Traza su evolucion hasta la primera mitad del siglo XX, cuando se sometio el cuerpo al mercado y se promovio la ideologia de la muerte del sujeto. Califica como "desgarramiento del cuerpo" al actual deterioro fisico y simbolico de los individuos y las sociedades. Propone como instrumento de cambio un concepto filosofico alternativo de "cuerpo", que integra en un solo sistema los aspectos visibles e invisibles del ser humano, a fin de fundar los valores en una teoria dinamica de la naturaleza humana, que permita recuperar al "cuerpo que somos" en este siglo XXI.
