En el cine contemporáneo y en la literatura narrativa de los países de lengua románica se encuentra una multitud de obras en las cuales los trastornos alimenticios no sólo representan una adecuación exagerada a los dictados contemporáneos de belleza, sino también una metáfora sociocultural que visualiza las disfunciones de la sociedad actual a través del cuerpo femenino. El análisis de la película Malos hábitos (2007) del director mejicano Simón Bross y de la novela La voyeuse interdite (1991) de la autora franco-argelina Nina Bou- raoui demuestra que la sumisión del cuerpo femenino a los ideales desinhibidos de belleza occidental (Bross) y a las normas púdicas de un Islam fundamentalista (Bouraoui) representan la dependencia de la mujer con respecto al poder de la mirada masculina (male gaze), transformando el cuerpo femenino en un espacio de proyección de las jerarquías sociales . Ante la idea ampliamente difundida del Islam como ’lo otro‘, criticado particularmente por su ’concepción atrasada‘ en cuanto al papel de la mujer, la comparación demuestra que la hipersexualización occidental y la tabuización integrista del cuerpo femenino son dos caras de la misma moneda, que reduce a la mujer – de manera desconcertantemente similar – al estado de objeto sexual.

Numerous studies have shown how autobiographical narratives can illustrate the functions and structures of traumatic memory through language However, comparative research between linguistics and literature, between oral and written accounts, has often been neglected, especially when it comes to the role of sensory perception in the process of memory emergence The present study focuses on the examination of ’emerging memory‘ in both oral history interviews and literary narratives as testified by traumatised war and holocaust survivors It focuses primarily on communicative strategies and linguistic structures, which can be found in both corpora By applying the linguistic concept of evidentiality, it will be shown how visual and auditive stimuli condition, regulate and facilitate the process of verbalization in both oral and written narratives

Among the most complex rules of Italian grammar are those relating to the use of the definite article with possessive adjectives followed by kinship names: in this case, the article is not employed, but its omission is subject to various structural, syntactical, and semantic restrictions concerning the noun / phrase in question. Grammar books usually highlight the use of the article with plural nouns or with the possessive form loro, but they are much less careful about other features of the kinship noun / phrase in which possessives are involved (compound nouns, nouns followed by prepositional complements, etc.). Furthermore, they disagree with regard to the syntax of affective names, in which case the use of the article is often considered optional. With this study, then, I intend to analyze the use of the definite article with possessive adjectives followed by the affective kinship names mamma and papà (therefore, nouns without suffixes) in the largest corpus of written Italian, Italian Web 2016 of the Sketch Engine system. The results of this research are interesting because, statistically, the use of the article depends on the possessive adjective used in the text (mio, tuo, suo, etc.) and, therefore, on the degree of the speaker's emotional involvement.

Das Romanische Seminar der Universität Zürich bewahrt in der Forschungsbibliothek Briefe und Unterlagen von Heinrich Morf (1854–1921) auf, dem eigentlichen Begründer des Romanischen Seminars. Dank eines bereits 1960 erfolgten Legats seiner Tochter Gertrud Lehner-Morf konnten mehr als 660 Dokumente aller Art in die Bibliothek überführt werden, jedoch ist das Material erst in den letzten Jahren gesichtet und geordnet worden. Der vorliegende Beitrag versucht, den Fonds Morf vorzustellen und das Potenzial dieses Torsos einer Gelehrtenkorrespondenz für die Erkenntnisse der Forschung zu erläutern. Die interessantesten Dokumente stammen aus der Berliner Zeit und bieten Einblick in die Organisation der Erhebungen in den Gefangenenlagern, deren Leitung für den Bereich der Romanistik Morf oblag.

Once at the core of Romance philology, the teaching of Historical Romance Linguistics has all but vanished from university curricula Even though language change is constitutive for any natural language, most bachelor degree programs focus on synchronic studies these days Nevertheless, instead of arguing for the reintroduction of compulsory Old French or Old Spanish courses, this paper promotes another vision of Historical Linguistics in academic education In line with Christmann (1975) and Böckle / Lebsanft (1989), it will be shown that it is possible to include a solid introduction to Historical Linguistics in today's curricula and, at the same time, adapt it both to modern teaching conditions and the needs of bachelor degree students by taking the contemporary Romance languages as a starting point and applying a diachronic perspective on their features In this context, the recently published History of Spanish by Ranson / Lubbers Quesada (2018) will be presented as an example of a textbook that represents this approach in a nearly perfect manner.

All major Romance languages have patterns of the type jaune paille for expressing shades of colour represented by some prototypical object. The first constituent of this pattern is a colour term, while the second one designates a prototypical representative of the colour shade. The present paper starts with a short discussion of the controversial grammatical status of this pattern and its constituents. Its main aim, however, concerns the origin and diffusion of this pattern. We have not found hard and fast evidence that Medieval Italian pigment compounds of the type verderame influenced the rise of the jaune paille pattern, which first appears in French in the 16th century. This pattern continued to be a minority solution during the 17th century, but established itself during the 18th century. In the 19th century, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese adopted the pattern jaune paille, while it did not reach Catalan and Romanian before the 20th century.
