Mobile probe for environmental monitoring in the INTEGREEN project 用于INTEGREEN项目环境监测的移动探针

The main objective of the EU LIFE+ project INTEGREEN is to introduce a demonstrative system for the municipal mobility management centre of the city of Bolzano. The municipality aims at providing the local public authorities with distributed correlated traffic and environmental information for the adoption of eco-friendly real-time traffic management policies. To achieve this goal a new mobile probe with both traffic and environmental monitoring units has been developed. Especially for environmental monitoring no fast and economic measurement devices can be found on the market. Therefore a new platform suitable for automotive use had to be developed. The calibration has been performed by a comparison of the INTEGREEN data with accurate but slower fixed stations. A field measurement campaigns were carried out and the results were presented on different charts and evaluated.

High Throughput Screening System for screening of 3D cell cultures 高通量筛选系统筛选三维细胞培养

Cancer is always an intensively studied field due to an increasing number of incidences. Therapeutic strategies are often associated with negative side effects, which should be minimized. Therefore, natural drugs provide an interesting prospect for cancer therapy by less toxic adverse effects. To test a high number of drugs, automation offers a good approach for the realization of a higher sample throughput. This paper presents a High Throughput Screening System to investigate the effect of different drugs on 3D cell cultures (celisca, Rostock, Germany). We used 3D cell cultures because of their higher similarity to physiological conditions due to the structure. Referring to the High Throughput Screening system, the arrangement is equipped with specific devices to perform a high throughput drug screening. Here, the instrumentation and possibilities of data measurement are described. In conclusion, this screening system could be used in industry for a drug screening in a high throughput manner, which is based on 3D cell cultures.

Designing elementary-tree space compressors using AND/NAND and XOR/XNOR combinations 使用AND/NAND和XOR/XNOR组合设计基本树空间压缩机

Implementing aliasing-free (zero-aliasing) space compressors for built-in self-testing of very large scale integration circuits and systems is of great significance, especially in view of the technological paradigm shift in recent years from system-on-board to system-on-chip design. This paper investigates and provides new approach to realizing aliasing-free elementary-tree space compaction hardware targeting specifically embedded cores-based system-on-chips for single stuck-line faults, extending well-known concept from conventional switching theory, viz. that of compatibility relation as used in the minimization of incompletely specified sequential machines. For a pair of response data outputs of the circuit under test, the paper introduces the notion of fault detection compatibility and conditional fault detection compatibility (conditional upon some other response output pair being simultaneously fault detection compatible) with respect to two-input AND/NAND and XOR/XNOR logic. The process is illustrated in the paper with details of synthesis of space compressors for the International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS) 85 combinational and ISCAS 89 full-scan sequential benchmark circuits using fault simulation programs ATALANTA, FSIM and HOPE, exemplifying the relevance of the technique from the standpoint of simplicity, resultant low area overhead and full fault coverage for single stuck-line faults, making it thus a logical choice in commercial design environments.

Digital system for monitoring volcanic seismicity 监测火山地震活动的数字系统

To control and preventing volcanic risk, are used different devices where many parameters are monitored that provide insight into the state of a volcano. This paper presents the design of system for monitoring the volcano seismicity. This system is composed of the module of acquisition data, the power module, the peripherals for communicate remotely and GPS to get time synchronization. This system is proposed to have a quick deployment in case of volcanic crisis, with a low cost of construction and maintenance. At the same time the equipment is built inside a watertight box, which allows installation of the system in adverse conditions and in remote locations with difficult access. The graph that can be seen in the results section shows a correct system operation.

Advanced multi-sensor platform for chronic disease home monitoring 先进的多传感器慢性疾病家庭监测平台

Nowadays chronic diseases affect an ever-growing segment of population in developed countries; and the management of such kind of diseases requires a huge amount of resources. Chronic Heart Failure, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Diabetes, etc. are the main causes of hospitalization for elderly people, and considering the general aging of population this may lead sustainability problems in the near future. In the last years, clinicians and administrators have identified the telemedicine as strategy to improve the patient management, ensuring both a decreasing of hospital admissions and improving the patient's quality of life. This paper presents a complete system for the management of the healthcare information related to the chronic patient treatment, integrating three main points: a configurable multi-sensor platform for the acquisition and transmission of vital signs, a dedicated server for the provisioning of centralized telemedicine services and the possibility of synchronizing with the electronic health record.

Measurement of wheelchair users' activity level for developing a small device 测量轮椅使用者的活动水平以开发一种小型装置

The goal of our study was to provide wheelchair users with a novel device that allows them to easily determine the level of activity necessary to prevent metabolic syndrome. Previously, we proposed a system that measured wheelchair movements using a rotary encoder and accelerometer, and counted the number of wheelchair strokes for three levels of acceleration intensity. This paper presents the experimental results from measurement of the wheelchair activities of 17 spinal cord injury (SCI) individuals in the Kibikogen Rehabilitation Center using developed system. Our proposed method can estimate traveling distance by the number of strokes at three levels of intensity, identified by the acceleration signal.

Preliminary design issues for inertial rings in Ambient Assisted Living applications 环境辅助生活应用中惯性环的初步设计问题

A wearable 9dof inertial system able to measure hand posture and movement is presented. The design issues for the deployment of measurement instrumentation based on no-invasive ring-shaped inertial units and of a wireless sensor network by them composed are described. Compromises between the physical and functional proprieties of a wearable device and the requirements for the hardware development are discussed with attention to an handsome design concept aesthetically effective. Techniques of power saving based on an optimized firmware programming are mentioned to realize a performing battery powered system featured by an exhaustive operation time. The printed circuit board (PCB) design rules, the choice of the components and materials, the fusion of inertial data with optical sensors outcomes are also discussed. Previous experience in the field of wearable systems are mentioned in the presentation of the results that emphasize the functional and application potential of a 9dof inertial system integrated in a ring-shaped device.

Design, calibration and measurement uncertainty analysis of a tension measurement test system 张力测量试验系统的设计、标定及测量不确定度分析

In this article; design, calibration and measurement uncertainty analysis of a tension measurement test system are presented. This system is designed for measuring tension force on a towed array which is towed behind surface ships via a cable. A special test setup that simulates the static and dynamic conditions for the measurement system is prepared for the calibration process. Calibration of the measurement system is carried out using different loads which are changed from 150 kg to 2500 kg by 150 kg increments. Data acquired by the measurement system in the calibration tests are analyzed by calculating measurement uncertainties in the test system. Standard uncertainties due to calibration data errors, instrument errors and curve fitting process are determined for static and dynamic conditions. In addition, combined and expanded uncertainties are calculated and compared to each other.

Rail health monitoring using acoustic emission technique based on NMF and RVM 基于NMF和RVM的轨道健康监测声发射技术

In order to detect the health status of high-speed railway, this paper proposes a detection method based on non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) and relevance vector machine (RVM) by acoustic emission (AE) signals. AE signals are obtained by tensile testing machine and AE data acquisition system. According to the stress-time curve, AE signals with safe state and unsafe state are obtained. Based on the frequency spectrum analysis of AE signals, the ratio of each frequency component relative to maximum frequency component is used as a feature vector to distinguish safe and unsafe states. Vectors with compressed and optimized features are obtained based on NMF, and these vectors are used to train and test the classifier by RVM. The classification accuracy of 10-folds cross validation on the whole dataset is up to 96%. The results illustrate that the proposed method can detect the safe status of rail effectively.

A low-power interface circuit for piezoresistive transducers 压阻式换能器的低功耗接口电路

This paper presents the design and development of a low-power interface circuit for piezoresistive transducers. This circuit combines the chopping technique with the correlated double sampling (CDS) technique in order to eliminate both the amplifier offset and the chopper ripple at the sampling frequency. In addition, programmable current sources compensate for the transducer offset and the low frequency components coming from environmental conditions thus allowing the readout of very weak input signals with high resolution (0.45μV) at a total power consumption of 200 μW.
