Understanding of marketing, focused on customers, is required to study of understanding the tendency of consumption and the habits of potential customers in businesses better. The influence of demographic factors and risk aversion on tax morale: A multi-group analysis 人口因素和风险规避对税收士气的影响:一个多群体分析

Tax morale has been recognized as the key to understand the levels of compliance achieved in most countries. We applied a structural equation model (SEM) to gain a better understanding about the factors shaping tax morale of Portuguese taxpayer’s. Our purpose was to analyse through SEM the direct effects of political democratic system, political participation, religiosity, individual satisfaction, trust in others and institutional trust on tax morale. SEM of tax morale allowed us to analyse the impact of demographic variables and risk aversion as determinants of tax morale through the use of multi-group analysis of structural invariance of SME developed. A sample of 1,553 Portuguese individual’s representative of Portuguese population obtained from European Values Study (EVS, 2010) was used. The results confirmed that Portuguese taxpayers tax morale is influenced by taxpayers trust on institutions like government, parliament and the judicial system, by political participation and by the belief that democracy is a good political system for governing the country. Tax morale is also influenced by individual s satisfaction, by religiosity and by societal behaviour (trust in others). © 2013 European Journal of Research on Education by IASSR.

The role and function of school sociologist in guidance system 学校社会学家在指导系统中的角色与作用

Guidance services carried out at schools which are social systems and institutions remain incomplete without a sociological point of view. It is essential to have a sociological perspective in order to understand and explain individual and society. One of the scientific disciplines which is the base of guidance and psychological counselling is sociology. School sociologist tries to understand individual (student) by examining all the social environment. This examination involves both the problematic students and others. By determining the risky and disadvantageous students by means of detection, preventive guidance service will be able to provided for the students. The duties and resposibilities of school sociologist should be defined in terms of the following topics: (1) To explore the students’ family and social life. (2) To carry out youth sociology researches. (3) The coordination of free time activities and social and cultural activities (4) Sociometry and socio-drama applications. (5) To explore the school system and manage public relations process. (6) To manage the social service and help process. (7) Vocational guidance. (8) The increase of the rate of school attendance and enrollment. (9) Researching the violence at school and the gang pattern, conflict resolution and mediation. (10) Determining and treatment of the addicted students. (11) Investigating disciplinary problems. Working in cooperation with the guidance and psychological counsellors, school sociologist will provide more effective and functional guidance service for the children, adolescents and youngs.

Corporate social responsibility practices of transnational corporations: Examples from Turkey and Italy 跨国公司的社会责任实践:以土耳其和意大利为例

As an open system and a social institution, companies’ responsibilities have gone beyond the provision of shareholder wealth. Today, companies are expected to conform the principles of good corporate citizenship and corporate governance, and disclose corporate activities in an accountable, honest and transparent manner. In this context, sustainability reporting is an important tool for communicating organizational performance related to economic, social and environmental issues with respect to corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices. The aim of this study is to analyze the annual corporate social responsibility or sustainability reports published by transnational corporations in the context of the triple bottom line (TBL) approach and to determine the similarities and differences of CSR practices applied in Turkey and Italy. The annual corporate sustainability or corporate social responsibility reports of the transnational corporations listed in Forbes CSR ranking were examined to identify the CSR practices in Turkey and Italy. Content analysis and the triple bottom line dimensions developed by Ho and Taylor (2007) and Rondinelli (2006) were implemented to evaluate the CSR reports. The results of the study indicate that the corporations compose their sustainability reports with reference to the triple bottom line approach. Data of environmental issues like water and energy consumption, disposal of waste and CO2 emissions are given in absolute numbers. Reports also include projections about goals in percentage and tables. Corporate social responsibility projects in Turkey and Italy enabled us to identify and analyze the manner renewable energy, waste disposal, use of global resources, intercultural problems, entrepreneurship and healthy eating issues are being handled in a comparative perspective. © 2013European Journal of Research on Education by IASSR.

How pre-service early childhood teachers respond to children s negative emotions 职前幼儿教师如何应对幼儿的负面情绪

Teachers, like parents, have important roles in socializing children’s emotions by providing experiences that affect the emotional competence of children. The aim of this study is to examine pre-service early childhood teachers’ response preferences to children’s negative emotions. Data was collected using the Teachers’ Attitudes/Behaviors Questionnaire administered to 393 senior early childhood education students from six universities in Turkey, all of whom had registered to attend a teaching application course starting in the fall semester of 2013. We found that pre-service teachers mostly prefer to use problem focus, emotion regulation, label feelings, and behavior focus responses towards children’s emotions. Those who prefer to use punishment responses towards children’s negative emotions were less likely to label feelings and refer to emotions responses, and most likely to prefer a minimization response. Overall, pre-service early childhood teachers’ responses to children’s negative emotions are seen to be generally shaped by their education and educational experiences. © 2014 European Journal of Research on Education by IASSR.

Teacher goals in an early intervention program for children with hearing loss 1 听力损失儿童早期干预项目中教师的目标

This study aims to describe the content of a natural auditory-oral early intervention program and to investigate the goals of the teachers who work in the program. The study was designed as an action research. Two teachers of the deaf and six families and their children were the subjects of the study. The data were collected through video recordings, teachers’ reflective journals, children’s educational files, and by family interviews, and analyzed holistically after a period of five months. The results of the study indicated that the teachers had goals for both the children and for the families. They focused on the development of listening skills, production of speech sounds, and meaningful use of the words and sound imitations while working with the children. Moreover, they encouraged the parents to interact with their child and attempted to improve their interaction skills. To achieve the goals, they modeled certain language facilitating techniques with the children, they observed the parents while they interacted with their children, and provided suggestions, depending on their observations. They used different types of play as a learning context during the sessions. Parents reported that they learned “how” to interact with their children and stated that the intervention improved their child rearing practices positively. All children involved in the study produced some single words and two children started to use simple two word combinations at the end of the data collection period. © 2013 European Journal of Research on Education by IASSR.

The study was designed as an action research. Two teachers of the deaf and six families and their children were the subjects of the study. The data were collected through video recordings, teachers’ reflective journals, children’s educational files, and by family interviews, and analyzed holistically after a period of five months. The results of the study indicated that the teachers had goals for both the children and for the families. They focused on the development of listening skills, production of speech sounds, and meaningful use of the words and sound imitations while working with the children. Moreover, they encouraged the parents to interact with their child and attempted to improve their interaction skills. To achieve the goals, they modeled certain language facilitating techniques with the children, they observed the parents while they interacted with their children, and provided suggestions, depending on their observations. They used different types of play as a learning context during the sessions. Parents reported that they learned “how” to interact with their children and stated that the intervention improved their child rearing practices positively. The interaction between child labour and household income: A statistical survey in the industry of Turkey * 童工和家庭收入之间的相互作用:土耳其工业的统计调查*

The aim of this study is to find the extent of the income of child labour, and its contribution to the family income. In order to reach demographic and economic features of child labour a statistical survey study has been applied to 100 children working in the industrial sector. The results have been put and analyzed in different tests in SPSS 16.0 program. In this study, different results could be reached about the working conditions, the social and economic environment and future expectations of child labour. An important result was the contribution of child labour to the household income. In addition, children who are working are not able to get a sufficient education. A significant factor affecting children to be working at that age, is the level of family education and income. Another data point is the low level of child labour income, which doesn’t change in time frequently. © 2014 European Journal of Research on Education by IASSR.

E-learning in Saudi Arabia: Past, present and future 沙特阿拉伯的电子学习:过去、现在和未来

The emergence of information and instructional technologies and their influence on teaching and learning has brought about significant changes in academic environment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The new learning trend has made it mandatory to equip teachers in educational institutions with the necessary skills to cope with the new challenges. The urgent need for e-learning in KSA has resulted from the massive population growth vis-a`-vis the scarcity of teachers in both quantity and quality, including the need to reduce financial burden. Since 2002, when e-learning started in KSA, it has gained recognition and interest among academic institutions, academics and students, though with a relatively slow pace. This paper takes into account the growth of e-learning in KSA. It analyzes the potential need and the overall impacts of e-learning on various stakeholders. The paper also discusses the current e-learning developments as well as future prospect.
