This study finds out the effects of the various levels of superstitious beliefs and syncretic practices on Yoruba Muslims. It determines the cause and effects of superstitious beliefs and syncretism on spiritual development of Muslims with a view to eradicate the menace among Muslims in Yorubaland. A self-developed questionnaire titled “Superstitious Beliefs and Its Effects on Yoruba Muslims” was adopted and administered on 110 Muslims (Male and Female). Chi-square (x2) was employed to test the hypotheses at P = 0.05; df = 3. The statistics of percentages was also used to describe the situation as implicated by the data. The result showed that all the hypotheses formulated were significant (P<0.05) and thereby concluded that all the four variables were actually affects of superstitious beliefs and that they are impediments to Muslims faith in Yorubaland. Considering the findings, it was recommended that Islamic teachings should be elevated among Yoruba Muslims to understand why they should be effectively involved in the teaching and learning of Islamic studies in Schools to educate Muslims on the negative effects of superstition on their faith (Islam).

The buzzword, personalization in today’s marketing era is an evolving notion. The aim of the paper is to scrutinize the publications dedicated to personalized marketing. The spurring growth in personalized marketing thrives in new experiences for both marketers and consumers. The Publication search was initiated on 1836 review papers and research articles collected by SCOPUS Database and was visualized by using VOS viewer, a bibliometric analysis software. The paper focuses on identifying growth trends in publication for 20 years, i.e., 2003-2023 (till March), linked subject areas, geographical trends, popular keywords, and influential journals. It is found that the research count in this domain has grown at a pace since 2018 and spiked in 2020 amidst COVID. The literature of this domain is studied across Management, Psychology, Management, Computer Science, and Artificial Intelligence. The opportunity for research in this domain from the Indian perspective is high as consumer behavior concerning personalized marketing is yet to be explored. The contribution of this study to the literature will help scholars to explore the domain and influence more research.

Science education has been recording dismal academic achievement, skills and attitudinal outcomes in Nigeria. The students, right from the basic education to the tertiary level lack 21st century skills of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, citizenship, self-regulation, time management, knowledge construction, problem solving, digital literacy skills and many other positive skills expedients for proper employability and entrepreneurship. The conventional, didactic, non-heuristic instructional strategy adopted in teaching science education in the country is already dated at the face of Covid-19 and post-Covid-19 pandemic. The National Science Teaching Association (NSTA, 2012, 2020) of America recommended the Next Generation Science Standard (NGSS) as the trending path to science education productivity through technology integration and reflective thinking. Cybernetics, constructivism and behaviorism theories buttressed the integrating of technology and reflective thinking in science education. Empirical findings equally justify teaching science technologically and with reflective thinking. There are challenges to technological integration in science education, the FUD factors (Fear, Uncertainties and Doubts) about the use of technology in science education, Inadequate ICTs policies and programmes, insufficient technological infrastructures, low ICTs skills and knowledge, poor attitudes to change (status quo sustenance), poor finance, poor management cum maintenance culture, and many other impinging challenges to effective technological integration in basic science education. Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in ICTs infrastructural development in schools, adequate funding, training and re-training of science education teachers will allay major constraints to effective utilization of technology in basic science education for enhanced productivity.

Language remains an indispensable tool used in the advertisement world to communicate. Advertisements as forms of communication are goal oriented; they are used to manipulate the viewers or listeners’ emotions not for the sole aim of entertainment but designed to achieve their persuasive goal of selling goods and services. The covid 19 outbreak had a big impact on several industries and the banking sector is not an exception. It is an undeniable fact that current advertising landscape poses a challenge to agencies, all round the world; hence businesses can still experience great result with digital advertising values for those who stay at home. Thus, the problem still remains that people do not look beyond the fascinating coated language, images, colour, gestures, and facial expression among others which have in –depth meaning. This paper investigates the different multimodal elements employed by Banks in the advertisement of their products and services on Facebook. Five screen-shot advertisements of five banks from Facebook were sampled and subjected to descriptive analysis. The Banks are, Access Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA), First City Monument Bank (FCMB), First Bank of Nigeria and Guarantee Trust Bank (GT). The study is hinged on Kress and van Leeuwen (2006) theoretical approach to multimodal discourse which is heavily anchored on the systemic functional linguistic orientation of Halliday’s (1975) view of language as a social semiotic inspired studies on multimodal socio semiotic. The analysis revealed that bank advertisements are characterized by verbal and visual resources which include images, bold prints, capitalization, gothic writing, figures of speech, phrases, lexical acronym, quotes, punctuation marks and other graphological devices. It also revealed that colour, gesture, facial expression among others is also significant for meaning making of online Bank adverts. The paper concludes that some of these multimodal elements are embedded in the advert and they have persuasive effects on the audience even during the lock down situation.
Access Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA), First City Monument Bank (FCMB), First Bank of Nigeria和Guarantee Trust Bank (GT)。

Migration involves the movement of humans or animals from one place to another. This movement could be on temporary or permanent bases. Migration could happen when people go in search of better source of income, higher standard of living, more secured society, presence of infrastructure and so on. However, sometimes the reason people move from and to a place is not certain. This study was carried out to ascertain if literature has any role to play in people’s decisions to move from their current abode and to their destinations. The theory adopted for the study was the Push-Pull Theory of Migration. The study revealed that literature can be used to expose a society’s positive and negative way of life, propagate or negate a philosophy, affect a reader’s psychology, and so on. As a result, the researcher concludes that literature is a factor that influences migration.

We have hitherto only considered the viewpoint of men, but now it’s time to give women a fair shot as well. Every human being has the potential to learn about and advance science and technology, thus it is not only a field that is exclusively open to one gender. In movies, women play a supporting role for the men. An examination of the ways in which culture affects the evolving discussion of gender portrayals in cinema. Science fiction films are the ideal medium for discussing human habitation in the future because their content is an imaginative representation of civilization. Under the premise of a science fiction theme, it is necessary to re-examine and reinterpret the connection between genders considering modern technology. It has taken a while for the representation of women in movies to improve after years of under representation. Redemption of women altered significantly as nations advanced in modernity. The media had a significant impact on the modernization of societies and the perception of women in the contemporary world. Women are portrayed in modern movies as being more autonomous, self-assured, and career-focused. For example, Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), Avatar (2009), Mission Mangal (2019). As movies are a mirror of social structural changes, the goal is to connect the evolving roles performed by women in movies with the rising status of women. The hegemonic discourse of cinema that prescribes what constitutes appropriate gender roles. In order to achieve this, we will adopt a critical poststructuralist viewpoint on how body images are portrayed in well-known science fiction Movies that have been released in recent years. How women are portrayed throughout their development history using famous English-speaking science fiction films. The reflection and feedback of the sci-fi film as a social and cultural phenomenon on the reality of the western world. Sci-Fi movies can instruct and influence viewers in a useful way, such as by portraying positive female characters to encourage more women to shatter the stereotype and actively engage in science-related job or studies.

Plastics, which are dumped in landfills and disintegrate very slowly, are one of the main drivers of land pollution. Because of this, biodegradable and biocompatible polymers are currently increasing importance in both fundamental and practical research domains across the globe. Plastics made from renewable biomass sources, such as food scraps and agricultural byproducts, are known as bioplastics. Transparent, adaptable, strong, excellent as a barrier, and heat resistant, bioplastic is also. We carried out a study in the Biotechnology department of the Govt College in Hisar, Haryana, keeping all these issues in mind. In this study, we used leftover banana peels and turned them into a bioplastic film by treating them with acid and alkali. Successful production of bioplastic sheets from a mixture of banana peel and industrial maize starch was done. At 4% maize starch content, the films were able to offer tensile strength with a maximum value of 3.50 n. The hydrophilic properties of starch molecules increased the water intake for all of the bioplastic films by more than 50%, according to the water absorption test. It was discovered during a biodegradability test that all of the bioplastic films disintegrate within a week. It is advised to carry out additional experiments in the future to improve the performance of the film, particularly in terms of mechanical characteristics and FTIR studies, as this is only a preliminary study. For better and more environmentally friendly outcomes, more and more waste peels, such as fruit and vegetable peels can be examined.

We carried out a study in the Biotechnology department of the Govt College in Hisar, Haryana, keeping all these issues in mind. In this study, we used leftover banana peels and turned them into a bioplastic film by treating them with acid and alkali. Successful production of bioplastic sheets from a mixture of banana peel and industrial maize starch was done. At 4% maize starch content, the films were able to offer tensile strength with a maximum value of 3.50 n. The hydrophilic properties of starch molecules increased the water intake for all of the bioplastic films by more than 50%, according to the water absorption test. It was discovered during a biodegradability test that all of the bioplastic films disintegrate within a week. It is advised to carry out additional experiments in the future to improve the performance of the film, particularly in terms of mechanical characteristics and FTIR studies, as this is only a preliminary study. For better and more environmentally friendly outcomes, more and more waste peels, such as fruit and vegetable peels can be examined.","PeriodicalId":447056,"journal":{"name":"Shodh Sari-An International Multidisciplinary Journal","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125930903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
Examination malpractice refers to all forms of cheating and illegal examination related offences that gives student unmerited grades, promotion or higher placement. Some causes of examination malpractice include those connected to institutional, societal and personal variables. As expected, several solutions have been suggested to curb it and those tested have shown some results. But yet, the strategies have not done much in addressing the personal variables, particularly those that should target changing the cognitive and affective antisocial orientation and build their capabilities on ethics and study. These are expected to help students desist from examination malpractice behaviors. One researcher noted that it is almost a routine for students to cheat. The present researcher perceive that the right intervention has not been used to curb examination malpractice among students across all level of the education, which may be the reason it still persists. In fact, examination malpractice is equally evolving in sophistication and assuming innovative dimensions, so this intervention is apt. Suffice to emphasize that examination malpractice in the education system if not curbed continues to undermine the achievement of quality education and production of quality graduates. The consequences of it among middle and high skilled work force has caused the society so much disappointment and loss. Losses incurred in retraining programs to enhance work adjustment of employees, inability to perform as a graduate when called up to, to mention some. Therefore, intervention in student’s classroom learning is needed such as lessons on how to process information and to make use of memory strategies in studying. This is with the view to besides achieving good academic performance, but to help more of them to be self-reliant, productive and employable in this 21st century economy and beyond. The paper concludes that unlearning examination malpractice behavior among students is achievable. Adoption of these intervention strategies can increase students’ confidence, self-esteem and self-efficacy. Overall quality education would be engendered. Suggestions such as instructors should be more creative in teaching and students should imbibe good study habits were made.
