Leadership and political participation of Garo youth in the northeastern state of Meghalaya are a significant demographic, making up over 40% of the Meghalaya state’s population in India. The Garo community, one of the most prominent indigenous tribes in the region, has experienced significant cultural transformations over the years, but the preservation of their unique heritage and values remains crucial. Moreover, it also discusses the impact of youth participation and leadership on the overall development of Meghalaya, considering the perspectives of sustainable development, community cohesion, and cultural preservation. By incorporating the voices of Garo youth, they themselves provide an authentic and inclusive view of their aspirations, challenges, and visions for the future. The objectives of the research article are, firstly, to examine the role of Garo youth in actively engaging in social, political, and economic activities, as well as their growing involvement in leadership roles within their communities. Secondly, this research aims to identify the barriers that hinder the full potential of Garo youth and suggest potential solutions for enhanced empowerment. Thirdly, the study aims to explore effective measures and policy interventions that can enhance Garo youth engagement and leadership, thus contributing to the overall development and prosperity of the community while fostering a sense of pride and ownership among the youth for their cultural heritage and identity. This research article adopts descriptive-analytical and qualitative methods. The study is based on secondary sources such as magazines, books, articles, newspapers, and online resources related to the topic. The delimitation of the present study is that it focuses only on youth political participation in the Garo Hills of the State of Meghalaya.

This study investigated sources of workplace stress, length of years in marriage and adjustment strategies among female lecturers in some selected state Colleges of Education, in North- West zone of Nigeria. The descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The population of the study was 1003 female lecturers. A sample of four hundred and forty 440 married female lecturers was arrived at using purposive sampling techniques. Purposive sampling technique was used to distribute the sample across the selected schools. Three instruments were used for data collection; sources of workplace stress questionnaire adopted from Abubakar (2018), length of years in marriage questionnaire (self-developed), and adjustment strategies to sources of workplace questionnaire this instrument was adapted from Yusuf (2015). The reliability coefficient of 0.76, 0.78, and 0.75 respectively were found after using test re-test and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient statistics for the three instruments. Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient statistic and multiple regression statistics were used to test hypotheses. Among the findings it was revealed that, there was a positive, high and significant relationship between length of years in marriage and adjustment strategies among female lecturers in some selected tertiary institutions in Sokoto State of Nigeria. The study concluded that length of years in services is more related to adjustment strategies. The study therefore recommended that, there should be adequate sensitization on sources of workplace stress and adjustment strategies. Female lecturers in tertiary institutions should be motivated to explore counselling in order to handle their challenges. Counselling centers should also be established in workplaces to assist employees in handling their adjustment strategies and sources of workplace stress.

Gender’s potential impact on the uptake of mobile learning technologies was investigated. The study sought to examine the influence of gender on attitudes and intentions toward adopting mobile technology for learning, as well as perceived utility, usability, and usefulness. The survey method was used for the investigation. A total of 1,214 respondents were chosen on purpose from 18 universities in the south-west of Nigeria, including six Federal, six State, and six Private Universities. The data were gathered using researchers’ designed questionnaire. The instrument’s dependability was determined using Cronbach Alpha to be 0.86. The first through fourth hypotheses were put to the t-test. The study’s findings showed that there was no difference between undergraduates of both sexes in terms of their attitudes (t (1, 1212) = 0.76, p = 0.45), usefulness (t (1, 1212) = 0.32, p = 0.75), perceived ease of use (t (1, 1212) = 0.86, p = 0.39) and their intention (t (1, 1212) = 0.06, p= 0.96) toward using mobile technologies for learning. The study’s conclusions show that none of the criteria (perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude, and intention) differed by gender. It follows that mobile technologies may have a significant impact on how students learn in Nigerian Universities. The study consequently advised against taking gender imbalance into account when implementing mobile-based learning in Nigeria.

The paper examined the prevalence of examination anxiety among undergraduates and its implications for counselling. The study employed a cross-sectional survey design in which 368 students were sampled from a population of 8,989 (male 60.6%; female 39.4%) undergraduates at Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) following a stratified random sampling technique. Data were obtained via an instrument called the University Examination Anxiety Scale (UEAS) whose reliability coefficient of 0.699 was estimated through the Cronbach Alpha statistic. Five null hypotheses were tested with t-test and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) at 0.05 significance. Findings from the study revealed a significant prevalence of examination anxiety among undergraduates. Whereas the prevalence of examination anxiety did not differ with respect to gender, age group, and students-faculty, a significant difference was however established among the various levels of the undergraduate programme in the university. The implication of these findings for counselling is that the tension induced by test anxiety needs to be reduced to enable the students concentrate on their examination. This could be achieved by employing biofeedback and psycho-education approaches. The study recommends among others that counsellors should empower undergraduate students with simple strategies to reduce examination anxiety such as mindfulness techniques and simple deep breathing exercises.

Environmental sustainability has been the issue for a number of decades at the global and national level. A lot of efforts have been made at the various level Governments in the world. The Indian Government, especially Indian judicial organ has also contributed a lot in this direction. In fact, in India, environmental law is basically emerged out of provisions of the Constitution i.e., fundamental right to live in pollution free environment, directive principles and fundamental duties under Article 21, Article 48-A and Article 51-A (g) respectively. However, still the pollution has been increasing with great pace. The objective of the paper is to emphasize upon the efforts made by the judiciary and to be made by the general public especially youth in India as it is only the youth who is going to suffer in future due to the environmental un-sustainability. In order to achieve this objective, various statutory enactments at the global and national level along with landmark judgements and contributory work of the eminent jurists have been analyzed deeply. Finally, it has been concluded that without the participation of the youth in this direction, this menace is very difficult to be curbed. The Government need to support the youth by creating awareness amongst the youth along with properly monitoring the implementation of the legal statutory provisions for the wholesome realization of the human right to environmental sustainability.
