OUTLINE OF A METHOD FOR ALLOCATING RAILWAY SHIFT WORKERS ACCOUNTING FOR THE DIFFICULTY OF WORK 考虑到工作难度,分配铁路轮班工人的方法概述

At present, shift work is evaluated from the carriers’ perspective as employers. Therefore, the purpose of the article is to outline the characteristics of an innovative software application that would enable human resource managers to take railway workers’ satisfaction or the difficulty of a job into account when creating shift plans. This article includes an overview of the prevailing methods of handling railway shift worker scheduling and a list and description of the empirical methods for creating shifts. Next, the consideration given to the interests and preferences of employees regarding shift types is described. We then outline possible changes, especially changes utilising mathematical formulas. These patterns and considerations are verified through actual shifts and questionnaires distributed to a select group of employees. An actual shift of conductors at the Czech national carrier České dráhy is chosen for the case study. Finally, a proposal of a software system that takes employee preferences into account and permits the scheduling of blocks of free days is described. From the development point of view, the aim of this software is to achieve maximum satisfaction after subjective requirements are considered, thus ensuring, from the human resource management perspective, a higher degree of railway employees’ satisfaction, leading to better quality services and improved rail transport.

TECHNOLOGIES AND INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS FOR ADAPTIVE VIBRATION CONTROL IN RAIL TRANSPORT 轨道交通自适应振动控制技术与智能系统

Vibration diagnostics is of particular importance in rail transport safety systems because the signals received from vibration sensors installed on rolling stock, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure objects have great diagnostic information potential. Despite this, in practice, there are cases when the adequacy of the results of the vibration control and diagnostics task is not ensured. The reason is that the sampling step of the vibration signal does not change when the train speed changes. Given the need to change the sampling interval depending on the train speed, this article proposes an adaptive technology for vibration signal sampling that allows the building of intelligent systems of adaptive vibration control of malfunctions in rail transport.

Efficient freight transportation systems typically reduce the cost of moving goods to and from logistics facilities. The demand matrix (O-D) is used to load or allocate the flow of traffic on a network, usually defined as a matrix that detects the number of trips. The objective of this study is to contribute to road freight modeling in Baghdad in general and estimate the O-D matrix for truck traffic using the freight transport data collected. Freight data was collected through roadside and interview surveys at the seven entrances of Baghdad city. In addition, the analysis was performed using Trans CAD ver. 4.5 software. The results provide an analysis of the freight travel demand. The output of this study is useful for decision-makers in the evaluation and execution of freight transportation activities and aids the application of correct decisions.

DELINEATING REGIONAL DIFFERENTIATION ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURE IN NORTHEAST INDIA THROUGH AN EFFICIENT SYNTHETIC INDICATOR 用高效综合指标描绘印度东北部铁路基础设施发展的区域差异

The northeastern region of India presents intra-regional disparity, which is reflected in every aspect of development. The transport sector, especially railway transportation, is one of the important aspects, and the development of railway infrastructure seems to be very different in every region. The research question addressed in this study was “Which factors, geo-physical or socio-economic, influenced the variation in the level of railway development in Northeast India?” The aim of the study was to delineate regional differentiation on railway development in Northeast India and to analyse the reasons for different development patterns of railway lines among the northeastern states. The research was based on secondary data collected from multiple sources, and the existing synthetic indicator was applied for the classification of eight states based on their railway infrastructural status. An alternative approach called the alternative synthetic indicator has been proposed and found to be more efficient than the existing synthetic indicator. The degree of inequality among the northeastern states by considering railway infrastructural variables was measured by plotting a Lorenz curve; the corresponding Gini coefficient specifies the unequal distribution of railway infrastructure among all the northeastern states. The causality of such unequal development has been analysed through a correlation test by defining the composite dimension index. The analysis revealed that all the externalities of regional inequality significantly influence the development of railway lines in northeastern states. Environmental determinism plays a crucial role in railway development in Northeast India, but political willingness is also crucial for creating an actual state of differentiation and will play a special role in the future.

BUS LANE IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY 公交专用道实施策略

This paper proposes a methodology for bus lane allocation including different strategies, dynamic bus lanes, and exclusive bus lanes. Choosing the right solution depends on many factors, such as traffic flow, passenger flow, and time losses. Analytical or simulation models can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of a separate bus lane. Analytical methods are simple to use and provide results in a short time. Simulation models, unlike analytical ones, require much more time and data to prepare but they are also much more detailed and accurate data. Therefore, analytical models may be particularly needed in the first stage of planning work during which potential sections for separated bus lanes are indicated. In this article, the author proposed an analytical model based on the 6th edition of the Highway Capacity Manual, which can be used to assess the implementation of separated bus lanes in different strategies. The final model developed was calibrated using traffic measurement results collected in a Polish city. As a result of the work, the author proposed the calculation procedure of the assumptions and diagrams, enabling the assessment of the selection of the appropriate solution.

NEW CRANE BUMPER DESIGN WITH AN ENERGY ABSORPTION DEVICE SYSTEM 新型起重机保险杠设计采用能量吸收装置系统

This article presents research carried out using physical data from the experimental construction of an overhead crane. This article aims to determine the dynamic behaviour of the cart-pendulum system when the hoisting mechanism hits the new bumper design at the end of the girder support structure with selected speed and bumper material to the length of the wire rope. This research shows the influence of the horizontal speed of the hoisting mechanism on the bumper force during a collision with a standard buffer and its modifications. The presented model can be the basis for modelling more complex cases, and its assumed role (i.e. the ability to determine the angle of deflection of the rope during an impact) has been confirmed and is possible to use in a specific case of an overhead crane on an industrial scale. Preliminary analysis of the construction of the bumper considered reveals its positive features, aiming, among other goals, to reduce the acceleration and force acting on the crane cart in emergency situations.

Advanced high-strength steel (AHSS) is being used increasingly often in the structure of means of transport. Welds made of these steels can crack in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) and have inferior mechanical properties compared to the base material. The goal of this paper was to solve the technological and material problem of obtaining high-strength thin-walled welded structures of AHSS steel designed for heavily loaded elements of transport means. The novelty of the article is its presentation of a modified welding process which enables a high-strength structure of the obtained joint to be obtained without welding defects and incompatibilities. Copper backing was selected as an effective method of heat dissipation in the process, and, using the basic solutions method, the leverage of a heat flow process in the weld method deposit (WMD) was checked after cooling down the substrate. The fundamental solutions method was used to determine the optimal shape of the backing. It has been shown that the new backing affects the structure and mechanical properties of welds. In order to verify the newly developed method, tensile tests of the obtained joint were carried out, the hardness was assessed, the metallographic structure was analyzed, and non-destructive tests were performed. The developed material and technological solution were used, for example, for the construction of the arm element of the mobile platform.

Parking accumulation profiles are time-dependent quantities at car parks that need data from longitudinal observational surveys. Car parks can be grouped into clusters based on the similarity in the shape of their accumulation profiles. This study investigates factors affecting parking accumulation and attempts to devise a methodology to construct parking accumulation profiles for different land uses in Abu Dhabi city. The study uses data available from Dubai city, which has a similar land-use type and distribution pattern as Abu Dhabi. A snapshot survey was conducted to observe the portion of the sampled car parks to calibrate the predicted parking accumulation. The estimation of parking accumulation profiles based on different land uses in Abu Dhabi city was done using the planning of the survey conducted in Dubai. The results suggest that a preliminary parking survey can help determine the initial accumulation profile and predict a robust parking accumulation profile that is applicable across different land-use types in Abu Dhabi.

THE IMPACT OF ROADSIDE TECHNICAL INSPECTIONS ON TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS SYSTEMS IN THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC 路边技术检查对斯洛伐克共和国运输和物流系统的影响

Road transport safety, apart from environmental protection, is one of the most important tasks for the contemporary world. Annually, about 50 million people are injured in road accidents around the world, of which nearly 1.5 million die as a result. Transport safety consists of many activities and includes various initiatives, including legal changes, training, preventive actions, building safe road infrastructure, and the production of safe vehicles and control systems. This article deals with the issue of performing roadside technical inspections in the Slovak Republic. Specifically, it analyses the results of these roadside technical inspections in individual counties of the Slovak Republic and examines their possible impact on transport and logistics systems in these counties. The correlation analysis showed that the number of checks under the technical roadside inspections is weakly related to the number of logistics centres, but the number of such inspections is moderate in relation to the number of failed vehicles (correlation coefficient = 0.44079). In addition, due to the age of the vehicles, the number of serious and dangerous faults found on them during maintenance inspection increases.

ANALYSIS OF PROBLEMS FACED BY THE DEAF WHILE USING PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN A BIG CITY 大城市聋人使用公共交通面临的问题分析

The article presents aspects connected with the identification of the main problems of the deaf and the hard of hearing when they use public transport and the related infrastructure in Poland. For the purpose of the analysis, a survey was conducted among 71 deaf and hard of hearing persons who live in large conurbations and use public transport daily. The survey included questions concerning to what extent the public transport and infrastructure are adapted to the needs of the hard of hearing. The participants evaluated the system of passenger information and indicated problems they come across most frequently in public transport vehicles and at stops. The problems were related to two primary issues: difficulties communicating directly with the drivers or when paying the fare in the ticket window and problems hearing and understanding voice messages played in vehicles and at train/bus stations.
