The transformation of any social practice, as the child, accompanied by the transformation of the toy game as an artifact that facilitates the activity of the game, either as a stereotype which defines child beauty or technology that allows the subject to inserted into the contemporary reality constitute, as a whole, in a post to problematize times of childhood and its profound changes. Moreover, the speech of the game was opted for disciplines such as history, psychology and sociology, which constitute an important grid of specification around what is the activity for the child in the process of socialization. The discourse of play as socializing activity, the importance of the toy and its transformation in the last decades of the 20th century and early 21st century, is constituted in conditions of possibility for the emergence of contemporary childhood in Colombia.

This paper examines conflicts of minor rank, crossed emotions, disruption of the moral order and private miseries that transcended the public sphere and involuntarily involved the girls of Buenos Aires from the time of the Colony. To enlighten this problem we appeal to a suggestivesource such as the judicial archives, as it show a fleeting and circumstantial cut in the lives of the social subjects that were involved but nevertheless allow to approach an universe of values and a sense of order in that social context. It’s interesting to investigate events or situations in which girls and young women were involuntarily involved, giving an account of a subalternity traversed by their gender, age and social origin. The type of sources analyzed reveal, problematize and make it possible to reflect on the most extreme features of heteropatriarchal domination. At the same time, it’s feasible to detect those interstices left by the justice system to demand reparation against the abuse and cruelty carried out on those girls.

La infancia y las construcciones teoricas sobre el psiquismo de las etapas prenatales de dudosa existencia, constituyen una oportunidad para establecer conexiones entre los desarrollos del campo psi, el discurso cientifico y el pensamiento marginal. The possibility of studying the history of the human species from the evolutionary history of an individual turned out to be a powerful and inspiring idea. In the article special emphasis is placed on the theory proposed by Arnaldo Rascovsky in the late fifties of the last century and some background is reviewed, such as Otto Rank´s ideas exposed in the Birth Trauma and Lloyd DeMause’s psychohistory. Childhood and the theoretical constructions about the psychism of the prenatal stages of doubtful existence, constitute an opportunity to establish connections between the developments of the psi field, the scientific discourse and marginal thinking.

The article studies two important Spanish art collections gathered in Montevideo by the businessmen and collectors Felix Ortiz de Taranco(1866-1940) and Fernando Garcia Casalia (1887-1945). These galleries were bequeathed to the Uruguayan state in the 1940s, and today have become part of the country’s artistic heritage. The article analyzes how these private galleries were formed, and the impact that Hispanism as a cultural movement had on the art consumption of the period. It also explores the relationship between the local art market and the economic and social development of Spanish immigrants. Both collectors’ cultural consumptions models are examined by comparing their collections, analyzing some emblematic paintings and exploiting documentary sources which had had not been previously researched.

The present work intends to investigate the construction of a new vision about Mesoamerica from the images produced by the English artistFrederick Catherwood during his trip through the Central American lands in the middle of the 19th century, accompanied by John Lloyd Stephens.Through the artist’s biography, recovering the importance of travel and his writings from the first contacts between Europe and America, and reviewing the journey made by these two characters, we will focus on the analysis of the images published in 1844 under the title of Views of Ancient Monuments in Central America, Chiapas and Yucatan. With this work we seek to recover the importance of this artist in the history of thecontacts between Europe and America and the subsequent exploration of the American territories from new paradigms that gave more value toAmerican antiquity.

This article aims to understand the way some agents in Tucuman, situated in the Rio de la Plata Viceroyalty, understood and recreated theirrelationship with superior authorities at Buenos Aires and Spain between 1806 and 1808. Because of British invasions to the Rio de la Plata, this was a time of factual autonomy from metropolitan and sub-metropolitan authorities. Hence, peoples in Tucuman experienced an unprecedented degree of self-government. In this context, this paper proposes to look at the ways the notion of “people” was used and deployed by the local cabildo and other local elites. While uses of the notion of “people” were grounded on Hispanic political tradition, this article proposes that the experience at the time of the invasion and the aids given to Buenos Aires opened up the possibility of new ways of understanding this notion –especially in what regarded the bounds of reciprocity between the people of Tucuman and the King.
