Various activities can cause changes in water quality conditions. One way that can do to change the way people point of view environmental changes is through learning. The aims of this study is (a) to determine the impact of the implementation of cased method learning on students' environmental knowledge and (b) to find out how students care about the environment. This study uses a combined research method (mixed method). This study uses a one-group pre-test, post-test-only design. Quantitative data in this research was obtained through an instrument in the form of a written test. Furthermore, qualitative data was obtained through a tool like a questionnaire regarding students' environmental care attitudes—quantitative data analysis technique using Paired Sample T-Test. Qualitative data analyzed by student attitude questionnaire results. The results showed that cased method learning could increase students' knowledge of water quality problems. it is caused by a significant difference in student knowledge with the value of Sig. (2-tailed) which resulted from SPSS, was 0.00 for the material before and after learning the case method. In addition, students have an attitude of caring for the environment in the good category. Thus the case method learning can be an alternative learning to remind students' knowledge and environmental care attitude, which in the end has implications for management innovations on aquatic ecological problems.

Coffee is a plant that can grow in tropical and subtropical areas with suitable areas, namely at an altitude of 1,000-2,100 meters above sea level, for example, which is often found in Colo village, Dawe district, Kudus City, Indonesia. This study aims to determine the quality of preparations for foot sanitizer from coffee and cinnamon extracts. The method used in this experiment is the experimental method. Coffee and cinnamon extracts can be obtained by maceration or soaking. The coffee extract was given a variation of maceration for 38 and 46 hours. The materials used in this experiment were coffee extract 60%, cinnamon extract 10%, glycerin 10%, ethanol 19.5%, and coffee essence 0.5%. Evaluation of foot sanitizer preparations was carried out in 3 stages, namely organoleptic tests including shape, aroma, color, texture, dry time on the skin, irritation, and level of preference for the formulation. Physical preparation tests include pH, clarity, stability, and homogeneity tests. The antibacterial test was carried out based on the area of the inhibition zone to determine the variation of the best spray preparation foot sanitizer to inhibit bacteria. It can be concluded that the preparation of foot sanitizer F2 (R. 46 hours) is more effective than the preparation of foot sanitizer F (R. 38 hours) with a higher pH value, color, level of preference, and antibacterial activity. It is hoped that in the future the manufacture of foot sanitizers can be produced and disseminated to the wider community.

Critical thinking skills are the active thinking process by someone by analyzing information, questioning the truth by remembering old memories so that a conclusion is obtained. Critical thinking skills are influenced by student readiness factors in learning including planning, monitoring and evaluation. Therefore, students with low critical thinking skills need to improve thinking skills by planning the systematic learning through empowerment of metacognitive skills. This study aims to determine the correlation between critical thinking skills with the metacognitive skills on ecosystem material. This research was conducted at SMAN 13 Jakarta in year 2021/2022. The method used is a quantitative descriptive method with a correlation study. This research consists of two variables, namely critical thinking skills as independent variables and metacognitive skills as a dependent variable. The sample used was 135 students of class XI MIPA which had obtained the elected ecosystem material through the Simple Random Sampling technique. Data collection is done through survey techniques using critical thinking skills tests and metacognitive skills tests. Based on the results of the study obtained a correlation coefficient of 0, 346 in the correlation of critical thinking skills with student metacognitive skills on ecosystem material. The results of the analysis show that there is a positive correlation between critical thinking skills with student metacognitive skills on ecosystem material.

Figs (Ficus carica L.) belongs to family Moraceae which contains a lot of phenolic compounds that have an antihyperlipidemic effect. However, the phenolic compounds of figs have not been intensively studied. The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of phenolic compounds in figs as antihyperlipidemic in inhibiting the work of the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme. This research uses an experimental technique with the in silico method. The in-silico method was performed to predict the physicochemical, pharmacokinetic, toxicity, and molecular docking properties by comparing the phenolic compounds in figs and Pravastatin with the HMG-CoA reductase receptor. Rutaretin, Pimpinellin dan Seselin has the highest affinity values, met the physicochemical, pharmacokinetic, and toxicity parameters compared to Psoralen, 8-Methoxypsoralen, Angelicin, Bergapten and Pravastatin control compounds. The presence of this binding enzyme was able to inhibit the work activity of HMG-CoA reductase with amino acid residues Cys526, Gln814, Ile536, Leu811, Ile762, Pro813, Ala763, Ala556, Val538, Pro535, Tyr533, Met534, Gly765, Tyr517, Val522, Cys527. These results suggest that phenolic compounds Rutaretin, Pimpinellin, and Seselin in figs could be an antihyperlipidemic on inhibiting the action of HMG-CoA reductase enzyme.

However, the phenolic compounds of figs have not been intensively studied. The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of phenolic compounds in figs as antihyperlipidemic in inhibiting the work of the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme. This research uses an experimental technique with the in silico method. The in-silico method was performed to predict the physicochemical, pharmacokinetic, toxicity, and molecular docking properties by comparing the phenolic compounds in figs and Pravastatin with the HMG-CoA reductase receptor. Rutaretin, Pimpinellin dan Seselin has the highest affinity values, met the physicochemical, pharmacokinetic, and toxicity parameters compared to Psoralen, 8-Methoxypsoralen, Angelicin, Bergapten and Pravastatin control compounds. The presence of this binding enzyme was able to inhibit the work activity of HMG-CoA reductase with amino acid residues Cys526, Gln814, Ile536, Leu811, Ile762, Pro813, Ala763, Ala556, Val538, Pro535, Tyr533, Met534, Gly765, Tyr517, Val522, Cys527. These results suggest that phenolic compounds Rutaretin, Pimpinellin, and Seselin in figs could be an antihyperlipidemic on inhibiting the action of HMG-CoA reductase enzyme.","PeriodicalId":53330,"journal":{"name":"Unnes Journal of Biology Education","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73014057","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to analyze the difficulties of Pre-Service Biology Teachers in developing student worksheets that can support online learning in Biology subjects in Class XI High School. The subjects in this study were 70 Pre-Service Biology Teachers in the fourth semester of the Biology Education Study Program, The teacher training and eduation faculty of Sriwijaya University. The sampling technique is a saturated sampling technique. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative with data collection carried out using a questionnaire to analyze the difficulties of Pre-Service Biology Teachers in developing students’ worksheet and followed by interviews. Based on the results obtained, it is known that there are fourteen Biology materials for XI class of senior high school which were developed by Pre-Service Biology Teachers to become students’ worksheet. Difficulties encountered by Pre-Service Biology Teachers in developing students’ worksheet include determining supporting information (62.3%) in the high category, compiling discussion questions (58.8%) in the high category, and determining work steps (41.1%) in the high category. This could be an evaluation in the learning process so that in the end Pre-Service Biology Teachers can solve problems related to the difficulties encountered in developing Biology Materials students’ worksheet
