Through this current research the genesis and evolution of the ‘Light Architecture’ is tackled, showing a phenomenon that is mainly deployed from Germany, involving innovative aspects related to lighting, modern photography and commercial demands arisen from the new society between 1925 and 1936. The research is focused on urban nightscape, the new ways of dissemination and how they may change the professional collaboration between architects, engineers, business owners, photographers and editors. The aim is to verify its development in Spain taking into account the knowledge of German late lighting advances by Spanish engineers, the direct contact of the Spanish architects with the first lighting architectural works abroad, and its dissemination through specialized books and journals. By showing an accurate selection of buildings and publications, it will be shown how they contributed to introduce modernism in Spain, taking artificial light and night photography as a clear avant-garde signal.

Estudio experimental del sistema radicular del pasto vetiver sometido a esfuerzos de tracción 香根草根系在牵引作用下的试验研究

Un estudio experimental del comportamiento mecánico del sistema radicular del pasto Vetiver se presenta en este trabajo. Se realizaron 305 ensayos de resistencia a la tracción al sistema radicular primario de la planta Vetiver, sembradas en diferentes suelos y estado de crecimiento. La metodología comienza desde la producción de la planta y sus cuidados en los diferentes tipos de suelos. Las raíces se prepararon para el ensayo según lo propone Mickovski y Van Beek (1). Los resultados obtenidos reflejan un incremento sustancial de su resistencia a la tracción en comparación con la tomada para los diseños de estabilización (75 MPa). Se establece que la carga máxima se incrementa según el diámetro de la raíz bajo una relación potencial, y el esfuerzo a tracción de la raíz de la Planta Vetiver alcanza una media y moda de 118.5 MPa y 131.71 MPa, respectivamente.

Este artículo recoge algunos aspectos teóricos recientes relativos a columnas de grava que pueden resultar útiles para su diseño y cálculo. En esta primera parte, se presenta un ejemplo de cálculo de reducción de asientos y aceleración de tiempos de consolidación utilizando diferentes métodos. De forma general, los métodos de cálculo utilizados han proporcionado resultados adecuados si se tienen en cuenta las limitaciones y posibilidades de cada una de ellos. Los métodos semi-empíricos son sencillos porque proporcionan la reducción de asiento en función principalmente del factor de sustitución. Los métodos analíticos desarrollados recientemente basados en la celda unidad permiten considerar la influencia de otros parámetros, pero normalmente la información disponible respecto a su valor es limitada. Finalmente, los cálculos por elementos finitos proporcionan una gran flexibilidad en el análisis, pero es necesaria una adecuada comprensión de las hipótesis, modelos constitutivos y parámetros empleados.

El artículo investiga un grupo de casas proyectadas por A. Lawrence Kocher y Albert Frey entre 1930 y 1939. Se analizan estas viviendas considerándolas «obras encrucijada» y punto de confluencia entre el maquinismo, solidez y estabilidad material del Movimiento Moderno europeo y la inestabilidad, ligereza y provisionalidad de la construcción residencial y las diversas formas que adopta la tradición de la domesticidad móvil en Norteamérica. Se estudia la técnica constructiva de cada casa apoyándose en material original de archivo. Se describe su relevancia como punto de confluencia de diversas tradiciones provenientes de distintos campos disciplinares y también como punto de origen para un nuevo tipo de modernidad americana basada en la industrialización de la transitoriedad: la Modernidad Efímera Americana.

Construcciones efímeras en madera: los balnearios de la fachada marítima de Alicante (siglos XIX y XX) 短暂的木制建筑:阿利坎特(19世纪和20世纪)海上外墙的温泉浴场

During the 19th and 20th centuries, throughout the European geography spas spread, buildings designed to facilitate sea and thermal baths as a source of health, so fashionable at that time. As a case study, those of the beach of Alicante, the first seaport connected to the Spanish capital by rail and one of the first attraction hubs of the tourism coming from the interior of the peninsula, are analyzed. The Levantine spas were simple wooden structures, composed of covered platforms on the sea, supported on foundation piles stuck in the sand as sophisticated piers. In a paradigmatic way, the construction and typology of one of these spas is analyzed. This article aims to demonstrate the relevance of these buildings that, despite their marked seasonal character, formed part of the landscape of Alicante seafront for more than a century.

Resistencia a compresión en Bloques de Tierra Comprimida. Comparación entre diferentes métodos de ensayo 压缩土块的抗压强度。不同测试方法的比较

In this article, the effect that the geometry of test samples possesses on the average compressive strength determination on compressed earth blocks or CEBs is evaluated, as well as analyzing the effect of heading them with neoprene plates, with the purpose of obtaining references from the experimental process developed that allow to propose the redaction of a technical norm of the Argentinian Institute of Normalization and Certification (IRAM). To this end, specific technical standards for CEB written by Official Standards Organizations from different countries were compiled and analyzed, and the current regulatory framework of Argentina on concrete blocks, hollow and solid ceramic bricks was analyzed. Using CEBs produced by different establishments around the country, tests samples with different geometries were made, and their compressive strength with and without neoprene plates heading was determined. The obtained results indicate that the most adequate test samples for non-confined compressive strength determination on CEBs are an entire block or halve CEB, both in horizontal position and without heading.

Diseño del área quirúrgica para experimentación animal; cinco casos de estudio 动物实验手术区设计;五个案例研究

The surgical units for animal research are complex facilities for planning and designing. That is why in order to deal with a project of this type it is advisable to visit or gather the information that is available about similar units already built in order to analyze the different conceptual models and workflows that could serve as a reference. In this work, we studied the schematic floor plans, the organizational model, conceptual design and construction features of the experimental surgical unit of five Institutes of Health Research accredited by the Carlos III Health Institute are studied. Based on the sharing of the results obtained from the analysis of several units, it is intended to establish behavioral guidelines or protocols that may be useful to the professionals responsible for the design, construction and operation of new experimental operating rooms.

The dating of most buildings in the Historic Centre of Madrid is still unknown. The discovery and analysis of many old projects and the verification with the preserved buildings show that some apparently ‘modern’ are built on other pre-existing ones. In the garden of the ‘houses a la malicia’ (1560-1788), and before demolishing the city wall (1868), new bays, stairs and patios were built. Besides, new floors were added on the original double-layered facade walls and load-bearing timber-framed. The study and dating of case studies, determining its sectors, front and back; the dimensioning of the exterior and interior walls; and structure disagreements in the floor plans and cross-section will reveal this process. The ‘old’ construction features are verified, justifying their intact conservation in low-rise buildings; and in others, the formation of the patio, the addition of new floors, and their transformation into collective housing buildings.

In the National Archaeological Museum there is one of the four wooden ceilings with interlaced joinery that existed in the towers of the disappeared and plundered Cardenas Palace in Torrijos (Toledo, XVth C.), that was the only one with dome form. The exceptionality of this kind of domes in the Spanish joinery made each one of them a unique example. Knowing how to draw them allowed to reach the highest degree of the guild. However, in the treatises, a correct definition of the procedures for its layout, construction and integration of the interlaced pattern is not completed. After the in situ analysis of this timber frame we develop both its formal description and its constructive configuration; we reveal what is its resistant structure and we advance in the procedures that could be followed both for the introduction of the interlaced pattern in the difficult spherical geometry, and for carrying out its manufacture and assembly.

Sistema de Información Geográfica tipológico para el conocimiento y la conservación del patrimonio construido: un caso de estudio en el sur de Italia 建筑遗产知识和保护的类型学地理信息系统:意大利南部的一个案例研究

A typological GIS is a system designed to store, analyse, manage and visualize geo-referred data about the built environment. It allows interactive queries to explore spatial relationships between buildings, improving the knowledge of the built heritage at different scales. For example, by running space-typological analysis, it is possible to extract information about the most used typologies in the existing buildings at different levels, from the urban scale to the construction detail. This knowledge shows a great potential in building design applications and may provide support for a correct design in urban renovation projects aimed to keep the character of the considered area unchanged and preserve its cultural and historical value. This work presents the first phase implementation of the typological GIS of an historical city centre set north of Naples and shows some examples of possible GIS queries for typological investigation of built environment at different detail levels.
