HEDONISM REFLECTED ON CELEBRITIES INSTAGRAM (CELEBGRAM) ACCOUNT 享乐主义反映在名人的instagram账户上

This study aims to investigate the indicators of hedonism and the most dominant hedonistic orientation reflected on celebrities' accounts. This study uses the accounts of four well-known Indonesian celebrities as research samples. The results of this study were analyzed using the semiotic theory of Roland Barthes. The results showed that there were eleven hedonism indicators reflected by celebrities on their Instagram accounts, namely self-expression, hobby, addictive substance, physical beauty, fashionable appearance, education, achievement, work, social activity, relationship, comedy and religiosity. From these indicators, it is known that universal hedonism and egoistic hedonism are the most dominant hedonistic orientations on celebrities' accounts.
本研究旨在探讨名人账户中所反映的享乐主义指标和最主要的享乐主义倾向。本研究以四位印尼知名名人的账户作为研究样本。本文运用罗兰·巴特的符号学理论对研究结果进行了分析。结果显示,名人在其Instagram账户上反映的享乐主义指标有11个,分别是自我表达、爱好、成瘾物质、身体美、时尚外表、教育、成就、工作、社交活动、关系、喜剧和宗教信仰。从这些指标可以看出,普遍享乐主义和自我享乐主义是名人账户中最主要的享乐主义取向。

THE SECONDARY EFL TEACHERS’ TEACHING STRATEGIES DURING COVID-19 OUTBREAK 新冠肺炎疫情期间中学英语教师的教学策略

This research aimed at investigating the secondary EFL teachers’ teaching strategies during COVID-19 outbreak and figuring out the problems faced in implementing the teaching strategies during COVID-19. This research was designed as qualitative research. The subjects of this research were the secondary EFL teachers at SMP N 4 Kopang selected based on certain criteria. The data were collected through interview and documentation. This research used data condensation, data display, and drawing conlusion as technique of data analysis.  Based on research finding, the strategies implemented by the secondary teachers during COVID-19 were situated teaching and picture description. Those strategies were effective, easy to plan and the students enjoyed the class. Lack of  learners’ motivation, insuficient time, resources and materials were the problems faced by the teachers in teaching English. The strategies above used in general material and affected all aspects such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Moreover, Teachers as educators should be able to synergize a learning activity with the learning method used in every situation. It can support the students’ skill in the process oriented material that will be taught.
本研究旨在调查中学英语教师在新冠肺炎疫情期间的教学策略,并找出在新冠肺炎疫情期间实施教学策略所面临的问题。本研究设计为定性研究。本研究的对象是根据一定的标准挑选的小学四年级的中学英语教师。数据通过访谈和文献收集。本研究采用数据浓缩、数据显示、得出结论等数据分析技术。根据研究结果,中学教师在新冠肺炎疫情期间实施的策略是情境教学和图片描述。这些策略很有效,很容易计划,学生们很喜欢这门课。学习者学习动机不足、时间、资源、材料不足是教师在英语教学中面临的问题。上述策略适用于一般材料,并影响各个方面,如说,听,读,写。此外,作为教育者的教师应该能够将学习活动与各种情况下使用的学习方法协同起来。它可以支持学生在将要教授的过程导向材料中的技能。

ENCODING AGRICULTURAL DISCOURSE IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF AGRARIAN LITERACY OF FARMERS IN THE MASS MEDIA 大众传媒农业素养建设中的农业话语编码

Agricultural discourse is the result of conveying a message to increase the agrarian literacy of a community to become agriculturally literate. The goal of this research is to obtain an objective picture about the text structures, social cognition, and social contexts used in the construction of agricultural discourse to establish the agrarian literacy of farmers. The research uses a qualitative method with a symbolic interactionism design to study the way a social interaction is constructed and developed. The data collection methods used were documentation and a content review. The data sources for the research were newspapers and YouTube. The data analysis used a descriptive qualitative method with the stages of identification, classification, and interpretation. The results of the research show that (1) the text structures used to establish agrarian literacy include elements of semantics and syntax, (2) the forms of social cognition utilized by speakers to shape the discourse are person schemes, role schemes, and event schemes, and (3) the social contexts that influence speakers in carrying out encoding are food security and sovereignty, agricultural consultants, and millennial farmers.

THE HIDDEN PROPAGANDA OF U.S HEROISM IN Iron Man 1 & IRON MAN 2 MOVIES 《钢铁侠1》和《钢铁侠2》电影中隐藏的美国英雄主义宣传

This research discusses how the U.S. launched its propaganda of American heroism through the film as the medium. This study is classified as qualitative research. The technical analysis of the data used in this research is the technical analysis of qualitative data from Miles and Huberman. The source of information or data for this research are Jon Favreau's Iron Iron Man 1 (2008) and Iron Man 2 (2010) films. The data are the captured scenes and dialogues from the film Iron Man 1 Iron Man 2. A scene can consist of several frames and dialogs that describe the storylines in a scene. The results of the data analysis obtained a list of scenes that contain propaganda techniques. Since the data was in the form of movie scenes, Pierce's semiotics and Villarejo's cinematic theory are used to examine the data. In conclusion, the movie shows several aspects that support the findings in the analysis of American heroism and its maintenance in the movie. The representation comes from how the United States in the movie uses its military power, the perspective of seeing other nations, and shows the U.S has more advanced technology than other countries.

SPEECH ACT IN THE MAIN CHARACTER OF "LUCA" MOVIE 电影《卢卡》中主角的言语表演

Language is very important in our life, because without language we cannot communicate with each other. In communication, language has an important role because with a language we can express what is on our mind. In this case, learning speech act theory becomes important to overcome this problem. Speech acts are actions that can be done through speech. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of speech acts performed by the main character and to determine the function of the speech acts performed by the main character in Luca's film through the script. speech acts are divided into three acts; locutionary acts, illocutionary acts, and perlocutionary acts. In this study, illocutionary acts are the most important speech acts and are related to what the speaker meant. The illocutionary acts are divided into five illocutionary speech acts; representative, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative. In this study, the researcher found all illocutionary acts performed by the main character in Film luca through the script. And the illocutionary acts used by the main character in Luca's film through the script, the researchers found 113; 27 representative, 45 directive, 4 commissive, 34 expressive, and 3 declarative. The most common illocutionary act is the directive illocutionary act, which is often done by the main character in Luca's film through the script. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive method in the form of documents in the form of films and scripts to describe and analyze the speech acts selected in the script, then classify them according to the concept of John R. Searle's illocutionary acts. TEACHERS’ CODE MIXING AND CODE SWITCHING: INSIGHTS ON LANGUAGE BARRIERS IN EFL CLASSROOM 教师语码混合与语码转换:英语课堂语言障碍透视

This research was conducted on Tenth Grade students at a vocational high school in Lamongan, this study aims to describe, explain the form of code mixing and code switching that occurs in learning, find out the factors and reasons teachers use code mixing and code switching in learning English in Tenth Grade . The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative using a sociolinguistic approach. Data collection techniques research results in the form of data collection obtained by means of observation and open interviews at the time of the study. The results showed that code-switching and code-mixing in learning English in one of the vocational high schools in Lamongan City found a form of code mixing and code switching that occurred in learning in Tenth Grade , in total only two types of code mixing were found. The factors causing code-switching include: the speech of the interlocutor, the third presence, the subject (topic), to evoke a sense of humor. Factors causing code mixing include: wanting to explain something, because of the situation, wanting to establish intimacy between teachers and students. The impacts of code switching and code mixing include: positive impacts, namely students are easier to understand the subject matter presented by the teacher, negative impacts of the Indonesian language order resulting from interference and integration, as well as code switching and code mixing. the use of Indonesian is not done properly and correctly so that in learning the situation becomes informal. This research is expected to provide knowledge and become a reference for further research with different references.

Penelitian ini didasari oleh pandangan bahwa pada dasarnya sastra merupakan proses cerminan dari realitas yang ada dalam tatanan masyarakat. Hubungan antara sastra dengan masyarakat akan selalu berdekatan, dan saling berhubungan satu sama lain. Tujuan penelitian ini dibuat yang pertama adalah untuk memenuhi tugas sebagai mahasiswa dan yang kedua adalah mengetahui kesenjangan sosial apa saja yang terdapat dalam novel Kami (Bukan) Sarjana Kertas karya J.S. Khairen. Jenis metode penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. Menurut Koentjaraningrat (1993: 89) penelitian kualitatif adalah desain penelitian yang memiliki tiga format. Ketiga format tersebut adalah penelitian deskriptif, verifikasi, dan format grounded research. Hasil yang penulis dapat adalah ternyata dalam novel Kami (Bukan) Sarjana Kertas terdapat beberapa kesenjangan sosial yang ada, seperti kesenjangan sosial ekonomi (kemiskinan), pendidikan, lingkungan, lapangan pekerjaan, serta status sosial. Kesenjangan sosial tersebut sangat mencerminkan apa yang ada dalam kenyataan bahwa sebagian besar masyarakat masih mengalami hal-hal seperti di atas. Terdapat banyak perbedaan di antara sekitar yang akhirnya menimbulkan kesenjangan sosial.

A PRAGMATIC ANALYSIS OF HUMOR EXPRESSED BY RADITYA DIKA IN THE STAND UP COMEDY raditya dika对单口喜剧中幽默的语用分析

This study was conducted to observe the phenomenon of language that creates humor in Stand up Comedy. The researcher aims to analyze the maxims that are violated to create humor, describe and explain the forms of humor that are created through the violation of the maxims, and explain the function of the humor created through the violation of the maxims in Stand up. Comedy Raditya Dika (SCURD). This research was conducted using mixed methods, a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. This data source is in the form of Stand up Comedy Raditya Dika in a Youtube video. The researcher is the main instrument of this research, while the data sheet is used as a secondary instrument. After being collected, the data were categorized and analyzed based on the types of violation of maxims, forms of humor, and functions of humor. To increase confidence, the data were triangulated by linguistic experts and students interested in the field.

This paper investigated the topic of gender in one of the most popular works written by O. Henry, the Gift of the Magi. The text was analyzed using Halliday’s Transitivity analysis of functional grammar (Matthiessen, C Halliday, 2014).The data of the text that being analyzed were types of the processes, participant roles, and types of circumstances in the clauses. The result showed that male character is more likely to use Material processes that are assumed to have more energy than those used by the female character.

Nilai sosial-religius pada tradisi pantang tanah dan monjojak tanah 社会宗教价值的禁欲传统和蒙贾克的土地

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menjelaskan nilai sosial-religius terhadap kajian tradisi lisan yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat Suku Rao, tradisi tersebut adalah “pantang tanah” dan “monjojak tanah”. Metodologi yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan melakukan studi pustaka dan metode analisis data menggunakan metode analisis isi. Berdasarkan penelitian yang sudah dilakukan maka dapat ditarik sebuah kesimpulan bahwa masyarakat Suku Rao pada sebuah tradisi pantang tanah dan monjojak tanah hingga saat ini masih dipercaya mempunyai manfaat serta dipercayakan membawa berkah, keselamatan bahkan menghindari anak dari marabahaya, seperti sakit perut, lumpuh, bisu, cacat mental dan lain sebagainya. Niali social religious menitikberatkan pada rasa penghormatan kepada orang lain. Tradisi pantang tanah mendeskripsikan masyarakat setempat menghormati petuah-petuah dari orang tua suku Rao. Sama halnya dengan tradisi upacara monjojak tanah dimana prosesi upacara itu sendiri memiliki nilai sosial-religius dari segi menghormati lelur, mencintai masyarakat bahkan bergotong-royong membantu segala persiapan prosesi upacara monjojak tanah itu sendiri.Social-religious value in the tradition of pantang tanah and monjojak tanahThis study was aimed at explaining the socio-religious value of oral traditions owned by the Rao people, these traditions are "pantang tanah" and "monjojak tanah". The methodology used was descriptive qualitative approach by conducting library research and data analysis method using content analysis method. Based on results show that the Rao Tribe community in a tradition of pantang tanah and monjojak tanah is still believed to have benefits and is entrusted with bringing blessings, safety and even avoiding children from harm, such as stomach pain, paralysis, muteness, disability. mentally and so on. Social religious values focus on respect for others. The tradition of pantang tanah describes the local people respecting the advice of their parents from the Rao tribe. It is the same with the tradition of the monjojak tanah ceremony where the ceremonial procession itself has a socio-religious value in terms of respecting ancestors, loving the community, and even working together to help in all the preparations for the procession of monjojak tanah ceremony itself.
