The target of the study is the assembly line of lamp in one company. We analyze the producing process in detail. We found that there existed some problems such as bottleneck process and unbalanced line. To solve these issues we used the MOD method in work study as well as ECRS principle. The new plan merged and simplified the entire operating process, reduced workers and increased the rate of production line balancing.

The environment in which production enterprises operate is one of ever-growing complexity and dynamism — especially in the face of the current recession. The resulting increased pressure to reduce prices and costs forces enterprises to intensively examine the economic efficiency of investment decisions in their productions. Within the context of a research project at the Institute of Production Systems and Logistics at the Leibniz Universität Hannover, a demonstrator has been developed which, based on the example of rigidly linked lines in the forging industry, allows measures in the production to be evaluated regarding their impact on logistic and monetary objectives. By applying the stored decision logic the delivery reliability for example and the residual gains can be assessed. A driver tree along with Logistic Operating Curves and transfer functions that allow a monetary evaluation of changes in the logistic performance, form the basis for this decision logic.

From the characteristics of the electricity universal service, this paper studies the problems within the incentive mechanism of the electricity universal service in the market environment. Based on the principal-agent theory, the paper takes into account the cost compensation and economic incentives factors for the power supply enterprises when implementing the electricity universal service, develops a new principal-agent relationship model between the electricity regulatory institutions and power supply enterprises under the asymmetric information situation, designs an optimal incentive contact, analyzes the problems of parameters' assignment in incentive contracts, as well as the influence of incentive contracts towards effort level, mutual earnings, etc. Examples prove that the proposed incentive mechanism could improve the self-earnings while the effort level of electricity universal service provided by power supply enterprises is upgraded, and together with it is the increase of electricity regulatory institutions' utility and social welfare, which in turn stimulates the power supply enterprises to improve the electricity universal service and achieves multilateral wins and the "Pareto Optimality" condition for the electricity universal service.

In order to develop a new quality cost control model, the paper first sets the third level subject of quality cost base on the PAF model, which is that quality cost is composed of prevention cost, appraisal cost, failure cost and does Pareto analysis according to the history data, finding the main influential subjects, second, it uses correlation analysis and partial correlation analysis to find the actual influential subjects, then it analyses the controllable factors and uncontrollable factors to these actual influential subjects. Finally, based on all the analysis results, and by taking use of fuzzy control and neural network, the paper sets fuzzy subsets and rules and establishes a quality cost control model based on them to facilitate automatic quality cost control.

BP algorithm of neural network don't obtain global minimum sometimes[2–5], furthermore, it is possible to create many local minimum so that the optimum solution can't be found. In order to solve this question, one parameter filled function method[l] is presented which can calculate value fast. We combine it with modified BFGS (Broyden-Davidon-Fletcher- Powell) to get a new algorithm for global optimization of wavelet neural network. The algorithm obtain the first local minimum by BFGS, then filled function method is used to obtain another smaller local minimum, this process is repeated for some times so that the network structure and weight value are optimized till global minimum is found. This method is used to train Shanghai stock index, then better network performance is obtained.

Few years back, not much importance was given to the effect of the product on the environment in the process planning stage. Till recently the environmental issues related with the manufacturing process were taken up seriously by both the general public and the government agencies which led to the need for environmental conscious manufacturing. This paper deals with the systematic determination of methods involved in the manufacturing of parts with one of the objective of minimizing environmental impacts. The focus of this study is to develop a multi objective non linear programming model for environmental supportive process planning while minimizing factors such as machining cost, machining time and environmental impact. An interactive front end tool is developed for optimum parameter selection and the results are discussed.

Considering the development of high-tech products, due to its complicated properties, a project planning model based on GERT is studied. By analyzing the GERT network description of WBS items of a product development project, the logical relationship of WBS items are defined and analyzed. Taking this as a core, a research of high-tech product project plan dynamic, product development and a case study are carried out.

Collaborative design is an engineering process that involves decision-making through iterative communication and coordination among product designers throughout the lifecycle of product. In order to increasing openness and flexibility, a framework of distributed platform for collaborative design based on Web services and Agent technology is proposed. Web services are the foundation of system, and Agent technology is applied to accessing and updating information. Subsequently, the structure and communication of Agent is studied, and dynamic behavior of system is described and designed. Finally, deployment and achievement of a system prototype shows the feasibility of this method.

The paper presents a capacity planning model for TFT-LCD production network. The capacity planning decision of TFT-LCD manufacturing is to simultaneously seek an optimal capacity allocation plan and capacity expansion policy. Capacity allocation decides on profitable product mixes and allocated production quantities of each product group at each production site. Capacity expansion concerned with determining the timing, types and sizes of capacity investments, especially in the procurement of new bottleneck machines and acquisition of new auxiliary tools. This study proposes a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) to formulate the capacity planning problem which considers many practical characteristics of TFT-LCD manufacturing such as multi-generation & multi-site production network, two capacity types, economic cutting ratio, and high capacity expansion costs. Finally, a case study modified from a Taiwan TFT-LCD manufacturer is illustrated.

Current research on reconflgurable manufacturing systems (RMSs) only highlights the isolated empirical study with a limited attempt to explore the modeling and design support issues surrounding this economically important class of system development problems. This paper proposes colored object-oriented Petri nets with changeable structures to shed light on how RMSs can dynamically reconfigure system components to accommodate production variations resulting from diverse changes in product design and order quantities. The proposed model is discussed in detail using a case example.
