External tracking of an instrument by electric fields in minimally invasive surgery 微创手术中电场对器械的外部跟踪

This study focuses on a tracking technique for minimally invasive surgery to overcome the possible dangers by endoscopic techniques. We used the principles of electric fields to detect the position of the instrument. With a microprocessor board and a shareware tool known as Processing, a three-dimensional tracking system was developed so that the scalpel inside a patient's body can be monitored by external receivers.

The effect of multipath and NLOS on TOA ranging error and energy based on UWB 多径和NLOS对超宽带TOA测距误差和能量的影响

Due to the multipath and NLOS conditions, the TOA ranging error based on UWB (ultra-wide bandwidth), the first path energy and the total energy received are different. In this paper, we study the difference of the TOA ranging error, the first path energy and the total energy received in different environments, finding that the TOA ranging error is smaller than that in indoor scenario due to the metal and breach in indoor environment and with the human body closer to the transmitter node, the interference to the signal is more severe.

Performance improvement method of the adaptive routing algorithm for 2-dimensional torus network 二维环面网络自适应路由算法的性能改进方法

Nowadays, many, parallel computers which many PEs are connected by interconnection network have been developed. Many interconnection networks of parallel computers for there have been proposed. Among them, 2D-Torus Network is a well-known interconnection network. In the interconnection network, there are two types of deterministic routing and adaptive routing. Adaptive routing has many advantages in such fault-tolerance. We have improved the adaptive routing algorithm based on the Turn Model for 2D-Mesh network. We have proposed a North-South First Routing(NSF) for adaptive routing of 2D-Torus Network. To modify the disadvantage of NSF, we correct the limitation of the algorithm. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of the improved method.

Golf swing motion detection using an inertial-sensor-based portable instrument 基于惯性传感器的高尔夫挥杆运动检测便携式仪器

This paper presents an inertial-sensor-based portable instrument and its associated swing motion detection algorithm to detect the following several major stages of a full golf swing motion: address, back swing, top of swing, down swing, impact, follow through, and finish. The portable instrument consisting of a microcontroller, a triaxial accelerometer, a triaxial gyroscope, and a Bluetooth wireless transmission module can be mounted on the golf club to measure swing motion signals. A swing motion detection algorithm composed of the procedures of signal collection, signal preprocessing, and swing motion segmentation has been developed for recognizing golf swing motion stages. Experimental results show that the portable instrument with its swing motion detection algorithm is a promising tool for serving as a training assistant tool for golfers.

Differential π-shaped CMUTs with improved linearity and sensitivity 差分π形CMUTs,线性度和灵敏度均有提高

High performance π-shaped capacitive micro-machined ultrasonic transducers (CMUTs) are presented with improved linearity and sensitivity. The π-shaped CMUT is composed of an anchor membrane, a circular piston electrode plate, and a bridging layer. The proposed differential π-shaped CMUT can provide differential output signals and further increase the sensitivity by about 6 dB. Both π-shaped CMUTs were designed and verified in a TSMC 1P6M 180nm CMOS MEMS technology. Experimental results show that the differential π-shaped CMUT not only provides superior linearity under 0-0.6 MPa pressure, but also exhibits 1.6 and 2.46 times in sensitivity compared to the conventional CMUT architecture.

In this paper, we proposed a system for analysis of IoT services. We regard an IoT service as a multi-agent system, and model it as an agent-oriented Petri net, called Petri nets in a Petri net (PN2 for short). Using the PN2 model, we analyze the IoT service by simulation and model checking. We also implemented the proposed system, and illustrated its usefulness with an application example for smart house.

In part II of a three-part series on active surveillance using depth-sensing technology, this paper proposes a method which autonomously transfers tracking of a premise intruder from one adjacent Kinect sensor to the other. The proposed method addresses the inherent limited depth range of a Kinect sensor in tracking an intruder further away. This is achieved by continuously monitoring the rotation angle of a Kinect sensor that is mounted on an independent pan-tilt unit (PTU). As the rotation angle approaches a crossover region, the current PTU signals the adjacent PTU to rotate towards this region, at which the adjacent unit then identifies and continues to track the intruder. Experiment results validate the feasibility of the proposed method in tracking an intruder at longer distances through cascaded Kinect sensors.

An effective pursuing scheme for iBeacon device 一种有效的iBeacon设备跟踪方案

Recently, many LBS applications based on the low power Bluetooth device, iBeacon, emerged, but iBeacon device is small and easy to be removed thus causes error location. In this paper, we propose a new and effective scheme to pursue and correct the location of iBeacon device. We consider the scope of 1m around the iBeacon as the target region and define seven-level field to describe tracking status. To avoid the fluctuation of the received Bluetooth signal strength, we design a max-vertical method to guide user correctly into the field of -20db, and then estimate direction by turning around in a circle. According to the inferred direction, user walks into the target region. Experimental results show that this scheme can help user accurately pursue the target iBeacon in the shortest time.

Comparison of ultrashort-pulse-laser ablation characteristics for different ceramics 不同陶瓷的超短脉冲激光烧蚀特性比较

This paper analytically investigates the ultrashort-pulse-laser ablation characteristics for different ceramics. Ceramics processing is difficult due to its hard and brittle properties. Noncontact ultrashot-pulse-laser is widely recognized to be a applicable tool. The optical property, thermal conductivity, and thermal expansion coefficient of AhO3 Ceramics are obviously different from these of AlN ceramics and are significantly relevant to the ablation characteristics of these ceramics. Therefore, the ablation for Al2O3 and AlN ceramics is quantitatively analyzed in this study. The effects of the ceramics properties on the ablation characteristics are discussed by comparing the ablation of Al2O3 with AlN.

A high-efficiency self-oscillating Class D amplifier in 0.35-um CMOS 一种0.35 um CMOS的高效自振荡D类放大器

Consider the structure of a self-oscillation power amplifier as a power line driver. Self-oscillation power amplifier was improved by the Class-D power amplifier. The traditional Class-D switching power amplifier is vulnerable to distortion limitation. Due to the non-linear continuous time nature of the self-oscillation, it possesses peculiar properties that enable the construction of a highly linear, high-efficiency line driver. In the thesis which has efficiency up to 53%, SFDR and THD are 53.6 dB and 52.8 dB respectively. A prototype has been fabricated in a 0.35-um CMOS process to the proposed circuit.
