In this study, studies related to blends are examined and their achievements, significance, limitations are discussed. Blends have been of interest in research of neologism and word-formation because they have been actively created and used in recent years, as well as there are significant differences in formation, interpretation, and change between blends and traditional complex words. Accordingly, it is necessary to deal with the framework of Korean morphology by summarizing the differences in views from the emergence of various terms and concepts. We focuses on the concept and scope of blends, issues on shape determination when forming blends, the status and changes of components, the method and data, and the morphological status of blends.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the syntactic and semantic characteristics of ‘-을걸(eulgeol)’, which means ‘inference’ and ‘regret’, and to explain what these characteristics show. So, the syntactic and semantic characteristics of ‘-을걸(eulgeol)’ are sexamined and ummarized and when ‘-을걸(eulgeol)’ means ‘inference’, it corresponds to a epistemic modality and when it means ‘regret’, it corresponds to a dynamic moality. In addition, It can be understood that the syntactic and semantic characteristics, when it means ‘regret’, derives from ‘egophoric’ property. On the other hand, there is a difference in grammatical status by meaning of ‘-을걸(eulgeol)’. When ‘-을걸(eulgeol)’ means ‘inference’, it is the final ending, while when it means ‘regret’, it is the connecting end. It can be seen as a result of the difference in the degree of insubordination.

The purpose of this study is to categorize analogy, which is a word formation mechanism, and to quantitatively examine the formation patterns of new words according to the type of analogy. For this purpose, this paper deals with new words data. This is because new words use the form and meaning of existing words, but they are often formed in a way that partially modifies the form of existing words, so they can show various patterns of word formation by analogy. The type of analogy can be divided according to the criteria of the model of analogy, the similarity between the model word and the target word, and the fixed element that is the axis of the analogy. It is confirmed that the types of analogy that predominate in the formation of new words are essentially closely related to the schema of analogy. Considering that the formation of words ultimately starts from representing meaning, it can be interpreted that the fixed elements shared by model words and target words and the 'meaning' of the schema of analogy based on them act as the most important factor in the formation of new words.

In the Korean traditional grammar, the initial study on the bakkum(change) of words(gi, ssi) focused on change of part-of-speech introduced for functional purposes to construct the correct sentence. A representative example is gimom-bakkum by Ju Sigyeong (1910). Then in Gim Dubong (1916), which described tteut-bakkum(change of meaning) and mom-bakkum(change of part-of-speech) in a balanced manner, the search for change of meaning began in earnest, and as a result, the use of bakkum was expanded to a wider area. A series of studies from Choe Hyeonbae (1930, 1934, 1936) to Choe Hyeonbae (1937) show that bakkum has entered another stage. While actively discussing change of shape centered on ssikkeut-bakkum(change of ending) and kkol-bakkum(change of shape), the concept of bakkum were expanded to another area different from the existing change of part-of-speech and change of meaning. In the process, the role of ssigaji, which leads ssikkeut-bakkum, was greatly emphasized and interest in the word composition began, and contents directly related to word formation theory appeared in the literature through jjahim of ssi. This article discusses the succession and change aspects surrounding bakkum from Ju Sigyeong (1910) and Gim Dubong (1916) to Choe Hyeonbae (1937).
