The wettability of nitrogen and argon implanted WC-Co indexable knives used for wood-based material machining 木质材料加工用WC-Co可转位刀的润湿性

The wettability of nitrogen and argon implanted WC-Co indexable knives used for wood-based material machining. An attempt was made to examine the effect of the depth profiles of the implanted ions on the wettability of ion implanted WC-Co tools used for wood-based material machining. The tests were carried for two types of the tool surfaces, i.e. initial and polished, two commonly used gases, i.e. nitrogen and argon, and for the values of the parameters, possible to control in the case of classic ion implanters. Four depth profiles were modelled for two different values of the acceleration voltage, two for each implanted element. The modelling parameters were selected so that the two modelled depth profiles for both implanted elements were similar. The wettability tests were carried using a computer-supported test stand. The obtained results did not confirm the hypothesis about the relationship between the wettability and the position and the shape of the depth profiles.

Impact of Seat and Back Angle Settings on Seating Furniture Quality: An Experimental Study 座椅和靠背角度设置对座椅家具质量影响的实验研究

Impact of Seat and Back Angle Settings on Seating Furniture Quality: An Experimental Study. The fundamental measure of the quality of seating furniture is seating comfort. Sitting comfort is described in the literature by the discomfort coefficient D, calculated from the pressure values and distribution measured between the human body and a sitting furniture "body support system". The work aims to experimentally verify the influence of selected anthropometric features on sitting comfort. The research was carried out on 12 people using a piezoelectric sensor mat and a model of adjustable sitting furniture. The study investigated how different seat and backrest inclination variants impact pressure distribution. The test results are the values of the contact pressures and discomfort coefficients D for nine combinations of the backrest and seat inclination related to the anthropometric characteristics of the tested group of people. The results indicate that anthropometric factors, such as body mass index (BMI) and user gender, significantly impact objective seating comfort. These findingswill help optimize the seating furniture dimensions at their design stage

Design and comparison of a suitable dust separation technique during the machining process in a CNC machining center 数控加工中心加工过程中合适的粉尘分离技术的设计与比较

Design and comparison of a suitable separation technique during the machining process in a CNC machining center. The paper deals with the issue of chip extraction from the milling process in a CNC machining center. The paper aimed to compare the particle size distribution of dust generated in the milling process of natural wood (beech, oak, and spruce) and MDF on a 5-axis CNC machining center. The particle size distribution was evaluated using sieve analysis of samples from the total weight of the captured dust. The results showed that the processing of natural wood is mainly characterized by the formation of coarse dust fractions (2 mm - 1 mm sieves), while the processing of MDF was associated with the formation of fine dust fractions with a size below 100 μm. Another of the objectives was to compare the separation values on the fractional separation curves of selected mechanical separators and filters with the size distribution of dust particles and to propose a suitable separation technique that meets the criteria of "best available technique" (BAT) in the processing of natural wood and MDF, as well as to point out the creation of and the production of harmful dust fractions, which arise mainly during the processing of MDF. We intended to assess whether the introduction of the given technology with the given material mix will also require modifications on the side of the extraction device.

Innovative systems of movement of elements and subassemblies used in kitchen furniture for people with reduced mobility 为行动不便的人在厨房家具中使用的元素和组件的创新运动系统

Innovative systems of movement of elements and subassemblies used in kitchen furniture for people with reduced mobility. The article presents innovative design solutions developed by the domestic company JATI, solutions that enhance the functionality of kitchen furniture intended for the elderly and wheelchair users, as well as a solution allowing for the installation of wall-mounted cabinets in the case of partition walls with insufficient load-bearing capacity. The design solutions concern: a top kitchen cabinet that can be lowered and brought closer to the user, a drawer beneath the countertop that can be pulled out and lifted upwards, as well as a system for raising and supporting a large countertop with attached components. These solutions were analyzed using analytical methods and empirically tested to determine their technical and user-related parameters. After developing the solutions, they were registered as original utility designs.

The impact of the share of waste lignocellulosic biomass from apple orchards on the susceptibility to drilling of produced particle boards. Every year, care cuts are carried out in the orchards, which result in a significantamount of waste. This waste is a valuable source of lignocellulosic material for particleboards production. As part of this study, the influence of the share of waste apple wood on the susceptibility to drilling of particleboards was investigated. Three-layer particle boards with share of lignocellulosic waste biomass from apple orchards (0%, 25%, 50% and 75%) and density level at 650 kg/m3and 550 kg/m3 were made. The particleboards were examined for the axial force and torque that occurs during drilling. The highest value of the axial force during drilling was notice for particleboard without apple wood and a density of 650 kg/m3. While the lowest axial force during drilling was recorded for particleboard with 50% share of apple wood and density of 550 kg/m3. The obtained results allow to conclude that density of the produced particleboards and the share of apple wood waste have a statistically significant effect on the axial force during drilling. While the share of apple wood do not statistically affect the torque during drilling. In the case of the pressing unit pressure used in the particleboards production process, no statistically significant influence on the axial force and torque during drilling was found

Tilt Angle of Wood Dust 木尘倾斜角度

Tilt Angle of Wood Dust. The aim of this article is to point out a risk factor – wood dust, which settles on various structures, inclined surfaces in operation and, if not regularly cleaned, it is a source of secondary dust, because it is swirled up again with any movement. By measuring the tilt angle of bulk wood material obtained from sawing on a table circular saw, using different saw blades and wood dust from longitudinal and transverse sanding on a hand belt sander, we determined which characteristics affect it. We found that the size of the particles is an important characteristic, the larger they are, the smaller the tilt angle and also the surface of the pad on which the dust particles settle, wood did not play a significant role in this case. The smallest tilt angle was measured for sawdust from longitudinal sawing of 27, and the largest tilt angle for wood dust from transverse sanding of oak and was 57 on beech pad

Properties of fiber-gypsum composite formed on the basis of hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) fibers grown in Poland and natural gypsum 在波兰种植的大麻纤维和天然石膏的基础上形成的纤维-石膏复合材料的性质

: Properties of fiber-gypsum composite formed on the basis of hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) fibers grown in Poland and natural gypsum. The popularity of composites reinforced with natural fibers is constantly growing and therefore, they are a subject of many scientific works as well. An example of interesting concept is the use of hemp fibers to reinforce a gypsum matrix and therefore, presented study was aimed to determine the effect of their content on the properties of resultant composites. Moreover, the influence of setting temperature was also investigated. The scope of the research included determination of properties such as: density, setting time, bending strength, modulus of elasticity and thermal conductivity coefficient. Studies have shown that as the amount introduced fibers increases, the density of manufactured composites decreases. Furthermore, increase in the content of hemp causes a significant extension in setting time of the gypsum matrix. Based on the outcomes of mechanical properties, it was found that the optimal content of fibers is 4% and further increase in their share results in a deterioration of flexural strength characteristics. The increase in a setting temperature leads to thereduction in their bending strength and modulus of elasticity. Composites reinforced with hemp fibers demonstrate significantly improved thermal insulation properties

The popularity of composites reinforced with natural fibers is constantly growing and therefore, they are a subject of many scientific works as well. An example of interesting concept is the use of hemp fibers to reinforce a gypsum matrix and therefore, presented study was aimed to determine the effect of their content on the properties of resultant composites. Moreover, the influence of setting temperature was also investigated. The scope of the research included determination of properties such as: density, setting time, bending strength, modulus of elasticity and thermal conductivity coefficient. Studies have shown that as the amount introduced fibers increases, the density of manufactured composites decreases. Furthermore, increase in the content of hemp causes a significant extension in setting time of the gypsum matrix. Based on the outcomes of mechanical properties, it was found that the optimal content of fibers is 4% and further increase in their share results in a deterioration of flexural strength characteristics. The increase in a setting temperature leads to thereduction in their bending strength and modulus of elasticity. The paper discusses the particle size of the chips formed in the process of machining unsteamed and steamed alder wood on a CNC machining center. From the granulometric analysis of the chips, it follows that the average share of the coarse fraction of the chips created from unsteamed alder wood is 66.0% and steamed alder wood is 62.9%. The representation of medium-coarse fractions of alder wood with dimensions of 1.0-0.125 μm in unsteamed wood is 29.5% and steamed by 32.7%. Dust fractions with dimensions below 125 μm in unsteamed alder wood account for 4.5% and in steamed alder wood 4.4%. Chips of non-steamed or steamed alder wood with dimensions below 32 μm were not measured, so it can be concluded that no respirable dust particles with dimensions below < 10 μm are formed. Changes in the physical and mechanical properties of steamed alder wood are manifested by a decrease in the coarse fraction above 2 mm and an increase in the fraction of chips 0.125 to 2000 μm. For the separation of chips, both unsteamed and steamed alder wood, from the transport air, fabric filters and filter fabric Finet PES 4 are suitable, the separation limit of which is smaller than the size of the smallest chips formed in the milling process: aMO = 7 m <<< amin = 32 m.

Probing measurements of the Meyer hardness index of radial, tangential and cross section of various types of wood 各种木材径向、切向和横截面迈耶硬度指数的探测测量

The Meyer index is a power exponent appearing in Meyer hardness power law, which describes the dependence of the indenting force on the diameter of the indentation caused by the ball (or alternatively a cylinder). A perfectly plastic material should have a Meyer hardness index of 2 and a perfectly elastic material of 3. Previous research by the author and co-workers indicated that the Meyer index of beech wood is 2.5 and for metals aluminum 2.25, copper 2.0. This gave rise to the hypothesis that the hardness index of each wood is about 2.5. It was decided to verify this hypothesis for different types of wood, different anatomical cross-sectional directions. Research on such diversity must therefore be of a probing nature. Nevertheless, these probing measurements indicate that different types of wood in given sectional planes have similar Meyer indexes, but in each section it is a different value. The measured mean value in the radial section was 2.41, in the tangential section 2.28 and in the cross section 1.98. Thus, the initial hypothesis of the value 2.5 was confirmed only for the radial section, and for the tangential and cross sections, new values of 2.25 and 2.0 were hypothesized. Only the extreme values of the Meyer indexes (on the radial and cross section) turned out to be statistically significantly different.

The prospect of using retro timber in the furniture industry 复古木材在家具行业的应用前景

The prospect of using retrowood in the furniture industry. To avoid over-consumption of natural resources, the idea of recycling or extending the life of wood-based materials is often considered in recent times.Therefore, it seems appropriate to conduct research aimed at studying the mechanical properties of retrowood and determining the possibility of its application. As part of a scientific study, surveys of old wooden residential buildings (Никитина et al., 2017) of the Russian North with a service life of 60–100 years and mechanical tests of both retrowood and freshly cut wood were carried out. Comparison of indicators of physical and mechanical properties of old wood and new wood material used in the manufacture of furniture with normative indicators of properties was made. Based on the research results, an assessment was made of the possibility of reusing retrowood in the production of furniture and interior elements. Well-preserved vintage wood from old wooden houses being demolished is a potential resource-saving raw material for making furniture, which is confirmed by testing the properties of this material. Based on the research results, the possibility of designing and manufacturing furniture and interior elements from retro wood is considered.
