Development of Anti-aging Cosmetics Using Chitosan/ γ-Cyclodextrin/Fucoidan Nanoparticles (Nanogel) Based on the Drug Delivery System 基于给药系统的壳聚糖/ γ-环糊精/岩藻聚糖纳米颗粒(纳米凝胶)抗衰老化妆品的研制

Purpose: This study aimed to develop MARINAVI-FD, a cosmetic material containing γ-cyclodextrin/chitosan/fucoidan nanoparticles, i.e., CH-γ-CD-Fu (Nanogel) based on the DDS system, and anti-aging cosmetics that have proven antioxidant and moisturizing effects.Methods: CH-γ-CD-Fu (nanogel) was identified through electron microscope (scanning electron microscope) analysis and nanoparticle size analysis (dynamic light scattering). Radical scavenging DPPH and ABTS assays were performed. Skin keratinocytes (HaCat cells) was assessed by the MTT assay, and the moisturizing effect was evaluated through enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Temperature and storage conditions were checked for the stability of the formulation. In the human body application test, Moisture Meter D Compact device was used.Results: The CH-γ-CD-Fu (Nanogel) has confirmed particle size of approximately 500 nm. In the DPPH and ABTS assays, compared with Fu (foucoidan), the CH-γ-CD-Fu (nanogel) showed higher scavenging ability at treatment concentration of 15.625–500 μg/mL. CH-γ-CD-Fu (Nanogel) showed a survival rate of >80% in skin keratinocytes (HaCat cells) up to a concentration of 5,000 μg/mL. In the measurement of hyaluronic acid production, CH-γ-CD-Fu (Nanogel) showed better production at 194.87 ng/mL than at 121.47 ng/mL at a concentration of 200 μg/mL in the control group. The stability of skin and cream formulations of anti-aging cosmetics containing MARINAVI-FD was confirmed. The moisturizing effect was observed 2.5 mm depth of skin human application.Conclusion: In this study, CH-γ-CD-Fu (nanogel) was used to materialize into anti-aging cosmetics.

Measurement of Antioxidant Activity of Soldam Plum (Flesh, Peel) by Different Drying Time 不同干燥时间对酸梅(果肉、果皮)抗氧化活性的影响

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal hot air drying time to use Asian Soldam plum to be utilized as a functional food ingredient, and to this end, the antioxidant components and activity changes of Soldam plum (both flesh and peel) applied with various drying times (0, 12, 18, 24 h) at 70°C were compared and analyzed.Methods: Samples of Soldam plum flesh and peel, which had undergone hot air drying, were subjected to hot water extraction, and their antioxidant components (total polyphenol and total flavonoid contents) as well as antioxidant activity (DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging capabilities) were measured.Results: The physiological activities of the hot water-extracted flesh and peel exhibited an increase with drying time, peaking at 18 h, compared to the fresh (not dried) counterparts, but decreased at 24 h. The highest level of antioxidant activity was observed in the peel of Soldam plum dried for 18 h.Conclusion: Optimal physiological activity in the peel of Soldam is achieved when it is dried for 18 h using hot air. In future product development utilizing dried Soldam plum, an 18 h drying period is recommended. Additionally, further research should explore enzyme activity and anti-inflammatory properties in addition to antioxidant activity.

Purpose: This study focused on the combination of uniform layer cut and graduated cut to provide basic data on haircuts by demonstrating design changes according to the hair length, head area division, and slice lines.Methods: The head area was divided into the top golden medium point, golden point, and golden back medium point. The upper part of the head was used for the graduated cut with a head angle of 75°, and the lower part was used for the uniform layer cut with a head angle of 90°. Slice line A, parallel line, and V-line were applied only to the top of the head. The cut was started based on the sites 15, 20, and 25 cm from the nape point.Results: The A line became longer as the hair length reached the face line. Consequently, the face and neck lines were covered, and the weight, volume, and expansion were increased. The V-line became shorter, as the hair length reached the face line. Thus, the face and neck lines are prominent, and the volume feeling is increased because of the curling phenomenon. As the point of the head area division increased, the hair length became shorter, and volume and vitality increased. As the point of the head area division went down, the hair length became longer, and the volume, weight, and expansion increased. A graduated high angle of treatment was formed by the lightness at the bottom and the volume by the weight line at the top. The uniform layer showed a rough texture with rhythm, lightness, and round shape.Conclusion: The top and golden points where the head shape protrudes during cutting should be cut more precisely. The cut line is not slick as the incline is severe. Combing and posture are more important than cutting. When combing once, exercise care when combing from the roots, and during cutting, stand in front of the body while changing the body’s position. This study verified creative haircuts.

Evaluation of Physiological Activity of Traditional Welsh Onion (Allium fistulosum L.) 传统威尔士葱(Allium fistulosum L.)生理活性评价

Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate physiological activities, such as antioxidant activity and enzyme activity, of hot water extract of the four parts (flower, leaf and pseudostem, stem, and root) of traditional Welsh onion (Allium fistulosum L.) and then to provide basic data on traditional Welsh onion to support future research.Methods: Four parts of traditional Welsh onion plant were extracted with water heated at 80℃. Antioxidative and enzymatic activities, such as total polyphenol content, total flavonoid content, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity, 2,2'-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline–6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) radical scavenging activity, and the inhibitory activity on α-glucosidase, tyrosinase, and elastase enzymes, were measured.Results: Out of the hot water extract of the different parts, Allium fistulosum flower (AFF) extract had the highest content of antioxidants. In the Allium fistulosum leaf and pseudostem (AFLP), Allium fistulosum stem (AFS), and Allium fistulosum root (AFR) extracts, the total polyphenol content and DPPH radical scavenging activity of the root were high, and AFS had high total flavonoid content and ABTS radical scavenging activity. Regarding enzyme activity, α-glucosidase and elastase inhibitory activities were the highest in AFR, and tyrosinase inhibitory activity was the highest in AFS.Conclusion: We confirmed the physiological activity of the hot water extract of four parts of traditional Welsh onion. Our findings provide basic data for research into traditional Welsh onion, and can facilitate its future development as a functional material.

Structural Relationship between Nail Artists’ Growth Mindset, Burnout, and Job Performance 美甲师成长心态、职业倦怠与工作绩效的结构关系

Purpose: This study aimed to determine ways for improving the service quality of beauty service providers by understanding the structural relationship between the growth mindset, burnout, and job performance of nail artists.Methods: The sample groups comprised 194 adult men and women working as nail shop operators or nail artists in Seoul and Gyeonggi provinces, and data were collected via an online web-based survey over 15 days from January 1 to 15, 2023. Path analysis was conducted using SPSS 28.0 and AMOS 28.0 according to the structural equation model for the collected data.Results: First, in the growth mindset of nail artists, the intelligent mindset was found to have a significantly negative (−) effect on burnout and a significantly positive (+) effect on job performance. Second, the personality mindset had no significant effect on either burnout or job performance. Finally, burnout had a significantly negative (−) effect on the job performance of nail artists.Conclusion: Educational institutions must provide support to improve the intelligent mindset of nail artists. Further follow-up studies are necessary to enhance the quality of service from the perspective of service providers.

Second, the personality mindset had no significant effect on either burnout or job performance. Finally, burnout had a significantly negative (−) effect on the job performance of nail artists.Conclusion: Educational institutions must provide support to improve the intelligent mindset of nail artists. Effects of Aromatherapy on Mental Health: A Meta-analysis 芳香疗法对心理健康的影响:meta分析

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the impact of aromatherapy on mental health by meta-analysis and highlight its significance.Methods: A meta-analysis of domestic theses and academic papers was conducted for examining the impact of aromatherapy on mental health over a period of eight years period from 2015 to 2022. The risk of bias was assessed using the cross-sectional study assessment tool from the Joanna Briggs Institute. Quantitative analyses were conducted on the studies that met the inclusion criteria, and a meta-analysis was performed on those with available data using R (R ver. 4.2.1) software.Results: A total of 28 studies were included in the system evaluation, and 17 articles were included in the meta-analysis. Aromatherapy was found to be effective in alleviating stress (SMD=0.67, p<0.01), reducing depression (SMD=0.36, p=0.04), and decreasing anxiety (SMD=0.22, p<0.01). There lies difference between the aromatherapy and control group regarding mental health.Conclusion: This study confirms the effectiveness of aromatherapy in alleviating stress, depression, and anxiety. However, further studies are necessary to verify its beneficial effects on overall mental well-being.

A Study on the Changing of Biophysical Properties of the Facial Skin according to Aging 面部皮肤生物物理特性随年龄变化的研究

Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the differences in skin characteristics such as crow’s feet, visible and invisible spots, pores in the left and right cheek areas of the face, porphyrins, brown spots, and skin color and texture with increasing age.Methods: This study utilized Visia-CR software Mirror® to capture images of the entire face of 457 individuals aged 30–60 years. Facial skin characteristics were analyzed using image analysis software, VAESTRO, and a toolkit. The analysis of facial skin characteristics according to age was performed using one-way analysis of variance to test for significance, followed by Scheffe’s post-hoc test.Results: Significant differences in age-related crow’s feet, visible and invisible spots, brown spots on the left and right cheeks, and skin texture were observed in all age groups, except for groups in their 50s and 60s. Porphyrins, depending on age, showed significant differences between the mean values of the 30s and all other age groups and those of the 40s and 60s. Significant differences in L* and a* according to age were observed between the mean values of the 30s and 50s–60s and those of the 40s and 60s. Significant differences in age-dependent b* were observed between the mean values of the 30s and all other age groups.Conclusion: This study found significant differences in wrinkles, spots, brown spots, and skin color (L*, a*, and b*) with age. However, there were no significant difference in the pores of the facial skin and b* with increasing age. Based on this result, L* and a* are likely to require further research for the age groups in the 30s and 40s, 40s and 50s, and 50s and 60s. In addition, pores and b* require follow-up studies on morphological changes of the facial skin regardless of aging.

Optimization the Mixing Ratio of Leaf and Seed Extracts of Brassica juncea L. Czern. as a Cosmetic Material 芥菜叶提取物与种子提取物混合比例的优化。作为化妆品原料

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the physiological activity of mustard (Brassica juncea L. Czern.) leaf and seed extracts as a cosmetic material, and optimization the mixing ratio using response surface methodology (RSM).Methods: Optimal conditions for RSM were determined the ratio of mustard leaf (X1) and seed (X2) extracts as the independent variable, and total polyphenol content, total flavonoid content, DPPH radical scavenging activity, ABTS radical scavenging activity, tyrosinase inhibitory activity and elastase inhibitory activity was determined as the dependent variable.Results: Optimal mixing ratio with maximum antioxidant, whitening, and anti-wrinkle effects was determined as 3.28 (4.10 mg/mL) for leaves and 4.21 (5.26 mg/mL) for seeds. The DPPH radical and ABTS radical scavenging activities, tyrosinase and elastase inhibitory activities was predicted to be 80.01%, 58.50%, 22.11%, 53.88%, respectively. In addition, when the mixture was treated in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells, NO production was inhibited by about 41% compared to the control group, and no cytotoxicity was observed.Conclusion: In this study, the physiological activity of optimal mixture of mustard leaf and seed extracts with antioxidant, whitening, anti-wrinkle and anti-inflammatory effects has been confirmed, this finding suggest that can use as a cosmetic material.

Changes in the Design Shape of Two-Block Asymmetrical Cuts According to the Head Shape Division, Angle, and Slice Line 根据头部形状划分、角度和切片线改变两块不对称切割的设计形状

Purpose: In this study, the weight line is the right (diagonal) line and the shape line is the asymmetrical cut of the left (diagonal) line rendered in the form of two blocks. In addition, it is meaningful to provide basic data on haircuts by demonstrating the design and length changes according to head area division, angle, and slice line.Methods: It is divided into upper and lower parts starting from golden back medium point, back point, and back nape medium point. 10 cm at the upper point, diagonal (V) line on the left, diagonal (A) line on the right, celestial axis of 0°, and a head angle of 20°, and 40° were used.Results: LGBM1 and LB1 were observed as two-block asymmetrical cuts, expressing rhythm, mystery, liveliness, dynamic, and freshness. However, LBNM1 was observed only asymmetrically. Since the asymmetrical cut is different from left to right, a heterogeneous phenomenon appeared. Regular asymmetry is thought to provide dynamism, liveliness, rhythm, and freshness expressed as harmonious beauty of order and balance. In addition, since the slice line is started from the side, it is considered that the slope is less than that starting from the back. One length symbolizes smoothness, orderliness, and heaviness, and the gradation has both a smooth texture and rough texture.Conclusion: Asymmetrical cuts can provide freshness, mystery, dynamism, liveliness, and rhythm through imbalance. In other words, the asymmetrical cut can be balanced and harmonized with creative effects. In future studies, it is expected that studies on the mixed form of gradation and uniform layer cut, volume cut, and design form of the front of the head and the temporal area of the head will be conducted.

Analysis of Korean Women’s Eyebrow Shape for Makeup Design 韩国女性眉形对化妆设计的分析

Purpose: The eyebrow shapes are potent signs of facial recognition, expression, and emotional status. The morphological expression of the eyebrows plays a vital role in communicating an image when applying cosmetics. The purpose of this research was to offer the application of eyebrow makeup by providing a standardized shape to typical eyebrows of adult women.Methods: This research measured the eyebrow shapes and colors of 300 women in their 20s and 30s in Korea. The measurement data were used to identify the typical eyebrow forms that represented women’s eyebrows.Results: The average width of the eyebrows was 49.7 (±3.6) mm, the average thickness was 8.1 (±1.4) mm, and the average peak of the eyebrow arch was 1.78 (±0.9) mm, respectively. The color value of the eyebrows is the average L* 59.5, a* 4.25, b* 8.72. We divided female eyebrows into four varieties: standard, straight, upward, and soft or harsh angles.Conclusions: This discovery shows that different eyebrow forms can be assessed and modified to fit the standard type. Additionally, by using these measurements, eyebrow makeup’s aesthetic design can be enhanced.
