High-intensity UV flows can be used for deep decontamination of irregular shaped open surfaces of automatic spacecrafts. Procedures and conditions for elimination of UV-tolerant spore bacteria from different materials (polymers, photosensitive matrixes, semiconductors, metals etc.) were defined experimentally. Level of surface contamination that can be eliminated completely by xenon UV light source UIKb-01 Alfa was established.

TINCTORIAL AND MORPHOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF MICROBIAL OBJECTS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF AN ELECTRONIC ATLAS WITHIN THE SYSTEM OF AUTOMATED ANALYSIS 用于自动分析系统内构建电子图谱的微生物对象的颜色和形态特性

The authors present the results of automated analysis of gram positive and gram negative cocci and bacilli (Staphylococcus aureus, Neisseria spp., Corynebacterium spp., Escherichia coli) for a database that facilitates detection of changes in normal microflora and diagnosis of disbiotic conditions of various human biotopes. Following the standard sample preparations and Gram staining, microbial smears were investigated using an automated and computerized analyzer developed by the Mintz Radio Engineering Institute in Moscow. Morphological and tinctorial analysis established significant differences in cell area, perimeter and limit. Significant differences in tinctorial properties of microbial cells make possible image research using the RGB and HSV color spaces. Automated analysis enables identification of microbial cells simultaneously by digital images of morphological and color/brightness parameters. The proposed techniques can be helpful in constructing an electronic microflora atlas of various human biotopes.

PROSPECTS FOR USING THE METHOD OF BREATHING NORMOXIC ARGON/OXYGEN GAS MIXTURE FOR PURPOSES OF NOISE OTOPROTECTION 常压氩气/氧气混合气呼吸法在噪声防护中的应用前景

Effectiveness of inhaled normoxic argon/oxygen mixture was tested with participation of volunteers with good initial hearing prior to white noise exposure (preconditioning). Results of comprehensive audiometry including measurements of tone threshold, delayed evoked otoacoustic emissions, otoacoustic emissions at distortion-product frequencies and short-latency auditory evoked potentials attested to the benefit of this method of otoprotection.

DYNAMICS OF DOPPLER ULTRASONOGRAPHY DATA FROM ARTERIES OF THE LOWER EXTREMITIES AND BRAIN IN THE COURSE OF STATIC ERGOMETRIC TEST 静态测功试验中下肢及脑动脉多普勒超声数据的动态变化

The paper contains analysis of Doppler ultrasonography data (Doppler US) from the leg and brain arteries of 52 Vietnamese male pilots and 15 Russian male pilots during the static ergometric test (Statoergometre machine). The subjects' age varied between 19 and 27 years. The measured parameters included peak systolic velocity (Vps) and resistive index (RI) of the popliteal (PA) and superficial femoral (SFA) arteries in the right leg, and common carotid artery (CCA) before, during and after testing. Results of the investigation evidenced that static strain in leg muscles during the test causes constriction in a segment distal from the superficial femoral artery confirmed by decreased Vps and increased RI in SFA and increased Vps and stable RI in PA. Under the head-to-pelvis g-loads, the static muscle strain is liable to impede blood pooling in leg muscles. Decreases of CCA Vps and RI due to the static muscle strain in consequence of, probably, vasodilatation in the brain, will be favorable to blood redistribution toward the head at the time of g-load. There was no reliable difference in doppler US data between the Vietnamese and Russian pilots.

GENERAL RESULTS OF THE 21-DAY HEAD-DOWN BEDREST STUDY WITHOUT THE USE OF COUNTERMEASURES 未采取对策的21天卧床研究一般结果

The paper reports the major results of an IBMP bedrest study with the emphasis on its preparation and implementation. The study involved 12 healthy males (29.8 ± 4.6 years of age, M ± SD) volunteered for a 21-d head-down bed rest at –6° (HDBR). Body length, mass and water balance were measured daily (2 days prior, during and in 2 days after HDBR). Routine checkups were performed twice a day. They included heart rate (HR), blood pressure(BP) and temperature measurements, and recording complaints, if any. Data analysis pointed to a tendency for body elongation and mass loss in the period of acute adaptation; these changes retained till the end of HDBR. Water balance was noted to be negative during HDBR but became positive on completion. HR, BP and body temperature were decreased in the early HDBR period and increased significantly on the first day after its completion. The most common complaints were about back discomfort, generally inthe lumbar region.

EFFECT OF SYSTEMATIC GRAVITATIONAL OVERLOADS ON STRUCTURAL ORGANIZATION OF THE ADRENALS AND THYMUS IN AN EXPERIMENT 系统重力超载对肾上腺和胸腺结构组织的影响

Effects of various anthropo-ecological factors on organism are one of the central topics of present-day morphology. Subject of our investigation was structural transformations in the adrenals and thymus as a result of systematic exposure to gravitational overloads (GOL), and arginine glutamate as a corrigent agent. Light and electron microscopy techniques were used to explore morphological changes in the adrenals and thymus of 24 adult male Wistar rats with the initial body mass of 260–280 g. Over the period of 45 days, the rats were daily exposed to 10-minute rotation at 9 G with and without injection of 4 % arginine glutamate solution as an antioxidant and membrane stabilizer. It was established that systematic exposure to extreme GOL produces serous changes in the structural and functional organization of both organs such as obvious hemodynamic disorders and degenerative structural effects in all cell populations. The extent of structural changes attests to adaptation failure and development of irreversible damages. The experiment showed that prolonged injection of arginine glutamate failed to abate these morphofunctional disorders in the adrenals and thymus and to enhance adaptive potential during the systematic rotation at extreme GOL.

ACTION OF TWO NEW NICOTINIC ACID DERIVATIVES ON THE LEVEL OF HIPPOCAMPUS IN RATS 两种新的烟酸衍生物对大鼠海马水平的作用

Experiments on hippocampal slices in rats showed that new nicotinic acid derivatives LKhT 6-20 and LKhT 7-20 at 5 mM inhibited the СА1 orthodromic population responses by 43  4 and 69  5%, respectively, whereas preparation of comparison mexicor in equal concentration inhibited the responses by 52  4 %. Action of LKhT 7-20 exceeded LKhT6–20 in 1.6 times and mexicor, in 1.3 times. The refore, LKhT 6-20 and LKhT 7-20 inhibit synaptic transmission between Schaffer collaterals and pyramidal СА1 neurons. The paper presents evaluation of the effect of different doses of essential phospholipids on the cytoskeleton of mouse oocyte microtubes and microfilaments cultivated on a microgravity simulator. Total content of acetylated alpha-tubulin and beta-actin was determined by immunocytochemistry. After the cultivation in modeled microgravity, the relative content of acetylated alpha-tubulin was decreased, whereas the beta-actin level remained unchanged. Injection of essential phospholipids (350 mg/kg of body mass) caused recovery of this parameter in the conditions reproducing the effects of microgravity.

OXIDATIVE STRESS AS SENECCENCE INDUCTOR FOR ADIPOSE-DERIVED MESENCHYMAL STROMAL CELLS 氧化应激对脂肪源性间充质间质细胞衰老的诱导作用

Studies of tissue-specific mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) for medical purposes are inspired by their potential to multilineage differentiation, a broad spectrum of bioactive molecule secretion and other properties. Cell senescence induced by oxidative stress can alter the MSCs morphofunctional characteristics. The work was aimed at studying the senescence-related morphofunctional changes in adipose-derived MSCs (AD-MSCs) under sublethal oxidative stress. Viability of cells in 96 hours after adding 500 µМ H2O2 made up less than 5 % (incubation time – 6 hrs.). Percentage of survived cells in other samples was higher (> 85 %); however, the rate of cell growth decreased significantly. Treated AD-MSCs were increased in size and cytoplasm was more granular. Active senescence-associated β-galactosidase was detected in nearly 100 % cells. These findings are evidence of activation of senescence. The level of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) was increased, as well as the activity of lysosomal and mitochondrial compartments. After the one-hour oxidative stress, ROS returned to baseline values. Increase in endogenous ROS was observed in 24–96 hrs. post the stress.
