This paper focuses on Students' and Teachers' Associations of Gauhati University and their problems, democratic agitations, demands, fulfillments etc. in the greater interests of students and teachers. Since its establishment in January, 1948, Gauhati University, considered to be the mother university of the entire North East has been serving as a seat of Higher Education for this region till the late 80s. There are lots of problems due to the changing scenario of our country in political and economic affairs and also due to liberalization, globalization and privatization which needs to be addressed. Gauhati University has also borne the brunt of such impacts. An attempt has been made in this paper to find out the demands of the students' and teachers' Associations of Gauhati University and also to see how they are acting as pressure groups for the fulfillment of their just demands. A descriptive survey method has been adopted and data collected by first hand studies by conducting interviews with the office bearers of these associations and also the authorities for the fulfillment of their just demands.

Life insurance plays a crucial role in providing financial security and protection to individuals and their families. It serves as a safety net, offering coverage in the event of unexpected circumstances such as death, disability, or critical illness. One of the key benefits of life insurance is its ability to provide financial stability and support to dependents, ensuring that they can maintain their standard of living and meet financial obligations even in the absence of the primary breadwinner. Additionally, life insurance serves as a valuable investment tool, offering opportunities for wealth accumulation and long-term financial planning. This study investigates the attitudes of investors in Gujarat towards life insurance firms, aiming to provide insights into their perceptions and preferences within the insurance sector. A sample size of 150 investors was targeted for comprehensive analysis, utilizing a mix of demographic variables such as age, gender, and education level. The research objectives include analysing investors' attitudes towards life insurance firms and exploring any potential associations between demographic profiles and these attitudes. Findings indicate that investors in Gujarat generally express satisfaction with the quality of customer service provided by life insurance firms, perceive clarity of information about policies, and report ease of access to information and assistance. Interestingly, no significant associations were found between demographic profiles and attitudes towards life insurance firms, suggesting uniform perceptions across different demographic groups. Overall, this study sheds light on the importance of understanding investor attitudes in shaping the strategies and services offered by life insurance firms in Gujarat.

The world is yet to be brighter for the visually impaired children. Visual impairment means being with low vision or no vision. The life and world of visually impaired children are totally different than those with vision. Braille language enables the visually impaired student to read and write in their schools. Talking library enables learning further. However, they face challenges in appearing for board examination. The researcher was interested in knowing the challenges faced by them and to find out strategies to overcome the challenges. The researcher adopted Explanatory Research design and Conative model of Mary Goodyear (2013) for Focused Group Discussion. The methodology adopted in conducting focused group discussion was based on Krueger and Casey’s, (2000) model. The researcher selected samples from a particular school for the visually impaired in Madurai. By adopting census method, all the visually impaired students appearing for board examination were selected for the study. By using the focused group script, which is a tool for data collection, the challenged faced by the respondents were identified. They were exam fear, difficulty in recalling, particularly the steps and formula in Maths, no career guidance or lack of motivation, non – conducive family atmosphere, less number of revisions and exam preparation programs teaching mnemonics, and ill health of parents during examination. The researcher had suggested strategies to overcome challenges faced by the visually impaired students appearing for the board exam.

This paper argues how technology will serve as a key gateway into a world with several poles. It further discusses the opportunities in favor of India to guarantee its position in the emerging power structure. And, the various obstacles that India has on its path to be a stable and developed economy. With the unchallenged hegemony enjoyed by The United States wearing thin by the day, increasing vulnerabilities sprout in the contemporary world order backed by its supremacy across domains. Technological advancement has consistently been a distinguishing factor in determining geopolitical power dynamics through the ages. It has historically paved the way for military superiority and political hegemony. The US's dominance following the Cold War is waning. There’s a concurrent rise of the Eastern wing and the Global South as a whole. Emerging technologies like Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, 5G, and Blockchain could further expedite the process. Rising powers are competing to deploy these across various potentially disruptive fields, set to usher us into a multi-polar world order. The rebalancing forces, concentrated mainly in Asia, are challenging axioms, redefining conventional notions, and renegotiating terms of engagement in a world more globally interconnected than ever. China and India make two re-emerging civilization giants with contrasting state apparatuses and value systems but similar objectives of securing for themselves a more assertive, sovereign, and determined place in the Global order. India in its 76th year of Independence finds itself amidst a host of opportunities and challenges unleashed by the unraveling of the established order, supply-chain disruptions, and a new round of geostrategic churn in its proximal theaters.

Musculoskeletal disorders or MSDs are soft tissue injuries caused by sudden or sustained exposure to repetitive motion, force, vibration and awkward positions. IT Professionals represent an occupational group where chances to develop MSDs are high because of their work pattern, in which they have fixed or constrained body position, continual repetition of movements, force concentrated on small parts of the body, like hand or wrist or a pace of work that does not allow sufficient recovery between movements. In India, many studies were done to evaluate the prevalence of MSDs among other occupational groups but not much among IT Professionals. This study has been carried out to determine the prevalence of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD) among IT Professionals. The study design was cross sectional with information technology (IT) Professionals working in Technopark Thiruvananthapuram as the study population. The sampling method used for the survey is the simple random sampling. Data was collected using a modified version of Dutch musculoskeletal questionnaire. Chi-square (χ2) test was applied for statistical significance and associations were assessed through p value with 95% confidence interval. Prevalence of work related MSD during last 12 months, was 36.57%. The common prevalence of work related MSD reported during last 12 months based on their body region were neck (83.42), shoulders (76.57%), and back (61.71%). There was a statistically significant difference in terms of experience, sitting for long period, using key board and working in the same posture for long period. There was no statistically significant difference in terms of age, BMI, gender, education. The study has concluded that MSD is prevalent among IT Professionals working in Technopark Thiruvananthapuram..

In optics experiments are conducted on the wave nature of light. Interferometers are used for measurements and two waves are superimposed to generate interference fringes. In such an experiment Michelson and Morley used Michelson interferometer to measure the velocity of earth in a stationary ether. The null results of this experiment could not be explained, various other experiments were conducted such as kennedy-Thorndik experiment, Dayton- Miller experiment, Raleigh and Brace experiment, Michelson- Gale- Pearson experiment, but all experiments gave null results. While interpreting the result of these experiments a very important role of wavefront of light has been ignored. Present work describes the role of wavefront of light in these experiments conducted on the wave nature of light and describes that actually no length contraction and time dilation like phenomenons exist as stipulated by special theory of relativity.
