Swine have particularities regarding anesthetic aspects when compared to domestic species. There are few references in the literature regarding anesthetic protocols used in swine, and the use of Azaperone is the most recommended, requiring further studies. Total intravenous anesthesia has several justifications for its use, due to its practicality and efficiency. Because this animal is commonly found in rural areas, many times the procedure is performed in the field without the necessary instruments. The present report describes the case of a pig submitted to an ovariohysterectomy, using as pre-anesthetic medication Acepromazine in the induction and Ketamine, associated with Xylazine in bolus. It was observed that the protocol used did not meet the analgesia desired for the surgery.

ANVISA approved the new nutrition labeling standard with the inclusion of the Front of Package, making nutritional properties more visible. The objective of the work was to verify, through market research with label prototypes, if the new labeling would cause changes in purchase intention. With this, labels were prepared and then a form containing their comparisons was created and distributed through social networks to the population. The questionnaire received 352 responses, verifying that 52.3% did not understand the information on the labels and, regarding the new labeling, the intention to buy the products decreased from 11.9 to 22.5%, demonstrating that it will provide healthier food choices.

Agriculture was responsible for 25% of greenhouse gas emissions in Brazil in 2021, where direct emissions from agriculture totaled approximately 601 million tons of CO2. Currently, 88% of cattle production in Brazil is on pasture, using vast systems, without much technology, in this production 190 million brazilian hectares are covered by pastures. There are several ways and strategies that can be used to reduce this emission, such as better balance of the diet and the offering of nutrients that compete with methanogenic bacteria for substrates. Intensification is also very important in the process of reducing gas emissions along with food supplementation, beside improvement in pasture management, increasing the carbon footprint and helping with the nitrogen cycle and benefiting beneficially from gases. The improvement of zootechnical indexes is also able to dilute the total emissions of the herd resulting in a lower rate between methane/product unit ratio. Through a literature review, it was found that with the intensification of production in general, manages to reduce the emission of methane by livestock.

The most tutors do not have knowledge about welfare, natural animal behavior and humanization of animals. With that, the objective of the present study is to characterize the human and dog interaction, evaluating their well-being and relating it to the humanization phenomenon. The study took place through a structured questionnaire, where 263 questionnaires were applied. The tutors stated that the main form of acquisition was through buying, when evaluating the well-being, the vast majority answered that the dogs live in houses, with a medium area, having access to the whole house. There was a low level of humanization and little understanding of what is well-being and humanization.

The objective of this research was to evaluate Paraguay's competitiveness in the international trade of fresh beef in the period from 2010-2021, using the Constant Market Share international trade model. Data was collected from the UNCOMTRADE database of the United Nations, initially identifying the commodity under study with the following NCM code: 201-chilled beef. The most representative destinations for the country were taken into account, such as Chile, Brazil, and Lebanon, as well as the rest of the world for fresh beef, and Russia, Israel, and Angola for frozen beef. The main results showed that the country is competitive in the export of chilled fresh beef, however, it needs to improve its export destinations for the first period. However, for the second and third periods, it had negative results. The country is competitive in frozen beef and has taken advantage of global growth, however, it still maintains negative export destinations.

The objective was to review the main technologies in ruminant production for measuring respiratory rate (RR), heart rate (HR) and body temperature (BT). Physiological changes may indicate imbalance of vital body functions, so identifying their cause is crucial for early and assertive decision making. The use of technology aids in remote and continuous monitoring of the animals. The main technologies used for HR and RR were motion and optic sensors, such as those based on photoplethysmography, visible spectrum imaging or thermography (TIV). For body temperature the main technologies used are TIV and sensors (thermometers and thermocouples) for body and room temperature. It is concluded that the application of the technologies allows a greater volume of data while maintaining animal welfare.

Excessive enamel dental points, resulting from irregular tooth wear, are considered the most frequent disorder in equine dentistry. The objective was to evaluate the oral cavity of traction horses, diagnosing the excessive points of dental enamel on the premolars and molars, identifying the main injuries caused by them and their impacts. The procedures were carried out in the city of Imperatriz - MA, where 40 traction horses were evaluated. Information was collected from the owners, a general physical examination of the animals was carried out, followed by a dental evaluation and an evaluation of the entire oral cavity. The main clinical signs detected as indicative of dental irregularity were refusal of food offered, acceptance of only half of the amount of food provided, food falling out of the mouth during mastication, decreased lateral excursion of the mandible, refusal to use bits and loss of weight. In this way, it becomes evident that the evaluation of the oral cavity of horses is of great importance, since the presence of excessive points of dental enamel can cause lesions in the oral mucosa, which cause pain, alteration of the biomechanics of mastication, discomfort during work, a decrease in performance and, consequently, a decrease in the quality of life of these animals.

Activated charcoal is a product based on bio-based materials and residues with specific porosity to act as a filtering compound, both to remove color and impurities of liquids. They are produced from physical and/or chemical process, after carbonization, through the activation of molecules. The present paper aims to identify the current perspectives and characteristics of activated charcoals and, sequentially, compare the potential of bamboo and açaí plants to treat contaminants in water. Thus, different positive characteristics were identified for both bio-based resources. Bamboo and açaí can be economically and technically viable materials to be converted into activated charcoal as a way to mitigate the environmental impacts on the water.

Acepromazine is a tranquilizer commonly used in the equine species, producing a sedative effect without hypnosis, in addition, it also acts as a vasodilator, improving laminar perfusion, being used in cases of subacute, acute and chronic laminitis. The objective of this study is to report a case of overdose of acepromazine in a mare, the use of 0.2% acepromazine was indicated, but the owner did not pay attention and administered the 2% concentration, leading the animal to extreme drowsiness and recumbency. Subsequently, after veterinary medical care and specific therapy for the case, the mare recovered from the intoxication and after a few days her laminitis improved.

Global warming, which has affected the entire globe, has increased the activity of crop pests. The Boufaroua (Oligonychus afrasiaticus) is among the serious threats to date production in Algeria. Through regular monitoring, field surveys and recording of temperature and relative humidity data within the Tolga palm grove (known for the famous 'Deglet Nour' date), it was found that the spider of this date palm in 2021 has expanded in the study area. This spider, in addition to half-soft cultivars, has exceptionally attacked soft and dry cultivars during this year. The multiplication of this tiny spider increases when the average air temperatures follow an upward trend (above 30 °C) and the relative air humidity registers a perpetual decrease (below 35 %); two important waves of Boufaroua propagation were recorded, the first one during the second dekad of June and the second one at the beginning of August. Farmers in the study area did not apply preventive control of Oligonychus afrasiaticus and resorted to curative control, when the pest appeared; where chemical treatments were most frequent. Nevertheless, a part of the farmers uses inherited (traditional) practices, while a minority uses household detergents.
