Methamphetamine (MA) is a potent stimulant with a high potential for abuse that can be smoked, inhaled, injected or taken orally. It is easily being relapse among drug abuse. Thus, this study aims to investigate the impact of drug addiction therapy utilizing the Motivational Interviewing (MI) approach. This is a qualitative study using interview sessions as a study design. The subject is a drug misuse client undergoing imprisonment in Kajang Prison, Selangor. Client’s progression was assessed through direct observations using the Mental State Examination (MSE), client records, and client speech changes. The study revealed that client has gained mental literacy and the client needs to change his behaviors so that the misery does not recur. The use of MI strategies in treatment sessions has been able to help clients eliminate ambiguities related to addictive behaviors, clients are confident to stay recovering and now have concrete plans to not re -addict in the future. The implications of the findings of this case study suggest the MI strategy is a treatment option that counselors can use in assisting drug abuse clients.

Critical thinking is a very important intellectual tool that could help a person form arguments, determine the credibility of sources, analyse presumptions or make decisions in various contexts. Hence, this study intended to examine the Western and Islamic critical thinking concepts as well as its significance according to the al-Quran and the views of scholars. The library research method was used extensively for collecting and analysing data, which was sourced from literature by philosophers, psychologists and Islamic scientists, especially those involved in the cognitive field. The conceptual framework was built using the content analysis method. According on the analysis, the importance of Islamic critical thinking based on the al-Quran and views of scholars in the cognitive field were extensively elaborated to assist in the practice of Islamic critical thinking. The study found similarities and differences between Islamic and Western critical thinking. The similarities are from the rational utilization aspect and the difference is from the value of truth aspect, whereby Islamic critical thinking accepts divine deliverance (wahyu) as the main source of reference when thinking so that the product of thinking eventually becomes the absolute truth. Hence, the major significance of Islamic critical thinking is to enhance the faith (iman) and piousness (takwa) towards Allah SWT by contemplating and examining nature. At the same time, critical thinking helps a person to face contemporary challenges and solve problems related to every aspect of life. Moreover, critical thinking activities are greatly demanded in Islam so that the mind bestowed by Allah SWT is not neglected and is used properly without transgressing HIS divine deliverance (wahyu).

The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic affects mental health in communities all over the world. Thus, this paper aims to see the potential of gardening as a therapy for mental health during this COVID-19 pandemic. Through the content analysis method, library research was conducted to examine this intervention. Findings show that gardening can be an alternative approach to prevention and healing in regards to mental health issues. Nature-based intervention such as gardening helps bring the feeling of peace and closeness to Allah which also allows for mental health issues to be curbed and health be restored, which ensures the overall well-being of those affected by COVID-19.

The most widely used social media such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook have changed the way we communicate with others especially amongst youth. It has been a major part of such activities in their lives. However, the most alarming situation is that youth are mostly students. It has been identified that those who spent more time online have evidenced more symptoms of depression. On that note, this study concerns to (i) identify the level of depression and (ii) to find out the relationship between social media and depression among them who are among undergraduate students. In order to retrieve the data, a set of questionnaire was distributed to 150 students of local university in Malaysia, that consists of three sections which are demographic information, Social Media Addiction Scale-Student Form (SMAS-SF) and Beck Depression Inventory 2nd Edition (BDI-II). There were two variables analyzed using Pearson correlation test. In short, the result showed that there is a correlation between social media and depression, r=0.199, n=150, p=<0.01. From this finding, it depicts that social media is significantly related and have positive relationship to depression among students involved. This study also provides such valuable information for counsellors and lecturers to identify students who have suffered depression and could help them to manage the problem. It also creates awareness among parents to be more alert with their children’s emotion.

One of the purposes of the establishment of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is to carry out various humanitarian aid missions. This means that they are trying to help those in need to get a better life. Donation collection activity is one of the methods often used by the NGOs to raise fund to help the needy. At the same time, they are also allowed to take a small commission from the public donation to cover the management cost of their organization. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that affect the determination of commission rate from public donation. Besides, it is to propose a sharia compliant guideline on the commission management of public donation by non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The methodology used in this research is qualitative method by using document analysis and semi-structured interview to the six (6) NGOs in Malaysia. The findings of the research show that there are four factors that affect the determination of commission rate to the five (5) NGOs which are; i) wage of amil, ii) decision of top management, iii) guideline from mufti, zakah institution and other NGOs and, iv) according to the project and management cost. However, only one (1) NGO that does not take any commission from the public donation. Moreover, a sharia compliant guideline on the commission management of public donation by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is created for the reference to the other NGOs in the future.

This qualitative study aims to identify Islamic perspectives on the issue of providing favourable feedback involving six evaluators and six evaluated officers of secondary school education service schemes in Sarawak. Study participants were selected by purposive sampling while data collection by semi-structured interview technique and analysed using content analysis technique. The findings of the study indicate that the issue of favourable feedback is associated with the issue of confidence in the effectiveness of favourable feedback and commitment to provide favourable feedback. Improvements need to be made to increase the effectiveness of performance appraisal and further studies are needed to address the problems that occur.

This research aims to study the educational significance of the advent of an explicit noun and implicit noun in the Hadiths of al-Arba'in al-Nawawi which represents a problem among readers to understand deeply the meaning of Hadith. This research described an explicit noun and implicit noun and analyzed it from syntactic and educational semantic sides. The study has reached some results: An explicit noun indicated concern and care, signify specialization and honor. An implicit noun came to show concealment, to attract attention and proximity, to specialize and intensity of care and attention. للاسم في اللغة العربية ثلاثة صور من حيث الخصوص، إما أن يأتي اسمًا ظاهرًا، وإما أن يأتي مضمرًا وإما أن يأتي مبهمًا. يهدف هذا البحث إلى إبراز دلالة تربوية في مجيء الاسم اسما ظاهرا ومضمرًا في أحاديث الأربعين النووية التي تمثل مشكلةً لدى كثير من القراء لفهمها فهمًا دقيقًا ولأجل مساعدة المجتمع الماليزي في فهم النصوص النبوية من خلال الدعاة والمهتمين بشرح أحاديث الأربعين النووية في المساجد والمدارس. وقد قام البحث على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي حيث قام بوصف المفعول به وتحليله تحليلاً نحويا دلاليًا تربويا اعتمادًا على آراء العلماء في النحو والدلالة والحديث. وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى بعض النتائج المهمة وهي: أن قد ورد الاسم اسما ظاهرا للدلالة على الاهتمام والعناية، وعلى التخصيص، وعلى التعظيم والتشريف. وجاء الاسم ضميرًا للدلالة على الإخفاء، وجذب الانتباه والقربة، والتخصيص وشدة الاعتناء والاهتمام. وأملي أن يكون جهدي المتواضع هذا قد قدّم ما يؤهله للانضمام إلى مسيرة البحث الأكاديمي ويستفيد الباحثون من الدعاة والمهتمين بشرح الأحاديث النبوية الشريفة ويراعون الدلالات الخاصة بكلام النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عندما يخاطبون قلوب المجتمع الماليزي للإرتقاء به والحفاط عليه. الكلمات الافتتاحية : دلالة تربوية ، الاسم الظاهر، الضمير، أحاديث الأربعين النووية.

Abstract The clash of Islamic civilization and the Western world has led to the transfer of Islamic sciences by Western orientalists. The sciences have been translated by orientalists into various languages such as Spanish, Latin, Italian and German. Among the sciences that have been translated is the knowledge of Arabic grammar. This knowledge of Arabic grammar is not only translated but also processed and adapted to the society in the Western world by seven orientalists of Arabic grammar. Accordingly, this writing aims to describe the history of the development of Arabic grammar in the Western world by seven orientalists in the period 16M-19M. The methodology of this study is qualitative which focuses on the framework of historical research methodology that is through the process of heuristics, criticism, interpretation and synthesis of sources. The results of the study found that the emergence of the discipline of Arabic grammar in the West began in the 16th century and was developed by seven orientalists in stages through their work. Abstrak Pertembungan tamadun Islam dan dunia Barat telah membawa kepada perpindahan ilmu-ilmu Islam oleh orientalis. Ilmu-ilmu telah diterjemahkan oleh orientalis ke dalam pelbagai bahasa seperti Sepanyol, Latin, Itali dan Jerman. Antara ilmu-ilmu yang telah diterjemahkan ialah ilmu tatabahasa Arab. Ilmu tatabahasa Arab ini bukan hanya diterjemahkan malah turut diolah dan disesuaikan dengan masyarakat di dunia Barat oleh tujuh orang orientalis tatabahasa Arab. Sehubungan itu, penulisan ini bertujuan untuk menghuraikan sejarah perkembangan tatabahasa Arab di dunia Barat oleh tujuh orang orientalis pada kurun 16M-19M. Metodologi kajian ini bercirikan kualitatif yang berfokus kepada kerangka metodologi penyelidikan sejarah iaitu melalui proses heuristik, kritik, tafsiran dan sintesis sumber. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa kemunculan disiplin ilmu tatabahasa Arab di Barat telah bermula pada kurun ke-16M dan dikembangkan oleh tujuh orang orientalis secara berperingkat menerusi karya mereka. The methodology of this study is qualitative which focuses on the framework of historical research methodology that is through the process of heuristics, criticism, interpretation and synthesis of sources. The recognition as a scholar upon al-Marbawi, whom significantly contributed in the scholarly literatures that which became reference for Muslims within the Malay Archipelagos is undisputed. In spite of the accolades, al-Marbawi was not spared from criticism; in which his background and qualifications in the discipline of hadith were disputed. The arguement stemmed from al-Marbawi's beginnings in the quest for hadith knowledge which was deemed unclear and further aggravated by the void in the details concerning the credence of his teachers. This article therefore aims to study the development of al-Marbawi's pursuit in acquiring his studies from his childhood to adulthood. To achieve these objectives, qualitative research was employed by way of library research in addition to content analysis methods that were fully used in the process of data collection and analysis. The findings show that there are two phases of study al-Marbawi's study of hadith; the basic phase of study being while he was studying in Malaya under the tutelage of Tuan Husin Kedah while the later stage refers to studies in his adulthood which took place in egypt involving formal studies at the al-Azhar University as well as informally through the books of Sahih Muslim and Jami‘ al-Tirmidhi. In summary, the varying periods of study of al-Marbawi proves that he was an authoritative scholar in the discipline of hadith.

Youth adulthood today, should be taught to have a balanced personality to succeed both in the world and hereafter. Psychology of da'wah and balance personality are dynamic internal systems which form an individual's pattern of action, thought and feeling. Youth adulthood should practice moderate Islamic lifestyle, so that the knowledge gained is competent for the purpose to achieve the pleasure of Allah. Thus, the objective of this study is to examine the impact psychology da’wah on balanced personality. The research hypothesis is tested with a sample of young adulthood in private universities and through structural equation modelling using SMART-PLS software. As a result, the study verifies the impact of the psychology da’wah on balanced personality. Thus, psychology Da’wah approach can be applied in counselling in managing psychological problems especially related to the personality of Muslim students. It may also assist students in having a greater sense of self-efficacy while in university and increase the level of balanced personality.
