5G network can meet the multi-type service access needs of substations and promote the intelligent upgrade and transformation of power grids. The layout of buildings and electrical equipment in substations, as well as electromagnetic interference, will have a greater impact on 5G signal coverage. In this paper, a three-dimensional simulation model of the substation is first established, and basic parameters of base station planning are determined. Then, a safety function considering equipment service level and an electromagnetic interference calculation method are defined. Finally, a coverage planning algorithm based on electrical equipment service level and received power quality is proposed to improve the reliability of service access and ensure the safe and stable operation of the system. Simulation results show that the algorithm is effective and reliable.

The advent of affordable three-dimensional printers has unlocked new possibilities for small business owners and hobbyists to convert their digital designs into tangible objects. However, during the production process, a lot of material ends up as waste because of improper storage or unused plastic fibers. This paper discusses the existing market products that aim to tackle these issues. Additionally, we introduce a specially designed pair of welding tongs that make it effortless to join plastic fibers utilized in fused deposition modeling printers. The paper presents a prototype of the tongs and provides a summary of the optimal welding temperatures for different printing materials. Finally, the conclusion evaluates the strength of the fibers after the welding process based on the results obtained from a testing mechanism.

In the realm of conventional affordance detection, the primary objective is to provide insights into the potential uses of objects. However, a significant limitation remains as these conventional methods merely treat affordance detection as a semantic segmentation task, disregarding the crucial aspect of interpreting affordances for actions that can be performed by manipulator. To address this critical gap, we present a novel pipeline incorporating the Intelligent Action Library (IAL) concept. This framework enables affordance interpretation for various manipulation tasks, allowing robots to be taught and guided on how to execute specific actions based on the detected affordances and human-robot interaction. Through real-world experiments, we have demonstrated the ingenuity and dependability of our pipeline, effectively bridging the gap between affordance detection and manipulation task planning and execution. The integration of IAL facilitates a seamless connection between understanding affordances and empowering robots to perform tasks with precision and efficiency. Image segmentation is an important problem in the field of image processing. Traditional multi-threshold image segmentation faces the problems of inefficiency and lack of real-time performance. In order to improve these problems, a Kapur multi-threshold segmentation algorithm based on the improved hybrid krill herd algorithm is proposed, which adopts a novel population iterative approach limited to the top krill to effectively alleviate the phenomenon of excessive aggregation of krill. Building on this foundation, the differential evolutionary algorithm is combined with the krill herd algorithm, which provides a sufficient search range to strengthen the ability of the algorithm to jump out of the local optimum. The experimental results of multi-threshold segmentation on three classical test images show that the proposed improved algorithm can achieve higher segmentation accuracy and quality, and the convergence rate is mostly above 90%, which verifies the reliability and effectiveness of the algorithm in multi-threshold image segmentation problems.

Friction stir welding is an emerging solid-state joining technology. With the advantages of small post-weld deformation and high connection performance, it is widely used in the aerospace field. In this paper, the FSW welding process of 7055-T61 Al and 2197-T8 Al-Li dissimilar T-shaped stiffened panel was investigated. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the influence of tool shoulder structure and welding parameters on the morphology and mechanical properties of T-joints. It is found that compared with the shoulder inner concave surface without spiral, the weld defects of shoulder inner concave surface with spiral are less. When the welding speed v is 60 mm/min, the rotation speed w is 350 r/min and the plunge depth h is 0.21 mm, the transverse tensile strength of T-joint is 408 MPa, which reaches respectively 68.0% and 71.6% of the base materials 7055-T61 and 2197-T8. It shows that the welding quality of T-joints is better when it is implemented under the optimal combination of welding process parameters.

Amid rapid advancements in autonomous vehicle technology, traffic accidents due to Autonomous Driving Systems (ADS) flaws persist. The critical task of attributing causality to accidents and forecasting potential incidents based on situational data stands at the forefront of enhancing vehicular safety. Addressing these challenges, this study introduces Casual V, a systematic five-phase V-shape approach to constructing a causal Bayesian network (CBN) from massive real-work crash data. To evaluate the proposed approach, a CBN was constructed from more than 300,000 Maryland accident records. Experiments demonstrate that our method is capable of effectively constructing a CBN that provides deep insights into the causal relationships within vehicular accident data.

In recent years, ultra-wideband (UWB) has gradually become a research hot spot in the field of indoor positioning because of its various advantages. Although UWB has such excellent performance in normal environments, the non-line-of-sight propagation of signals in complex indoor environments and the multi-path effect caused by obstacles will affect its positioning accuracy. To solve this problem, we use the fingerprint positioning method and optimize the previously commonly used k-nearest neighbor algorithm in the online matching phase. In this paper, we proposed a triple-filtered k-nearest neighbor algorithm based on sample distance weighting (TFWKNN). Experimental results show that the mean calculation error of TFWKNN is 63.4% less than the k-nearest algorithm, and the proposed algorithm has better prediction stability than other commonly used machine learning regression algorithms.

The renewable energy system coupled with hydrogen storage has proven to be a suitable method to reduce the variability of output power and meet stable hydrogen supply demand. However, the excessive cost of hydrogen through water electrolysis using renewable energy restricts its application, and the capacity configuration of electrolyzers and gaseous hydrogen storage tanks is affected by the immoderate reliance on engineering experience, leading to the unbalance of generation side and hydrogen demand side. In this study, a 300 MW photovoltaic power generation system has been proposed to fit the raw material demand of a synthetic ammonia plant, i.e., around 1000 kg/h hydrogen. A simplified mathematical model including an electrolyzer and a hydrogen tank is proposed to get the best capacity configuration. The levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH) is chosen as an optimization function, and a particle swarm optimization algorithm is adopted to get the optimal results. The simulation results indicate that the optimal capacity configuration is 176.36 MW for the electrolyzer and 14644.2 Nm3 for the hydrogen tank, and the LCOH is 30.31 Yuan/kg. Compared with the empirical model, the LCOH based on the optimization model is 8.87% lower than that of the empirical model, indicating better economic benefits of the optimization model.
