Background: Many young people now are starting to like reading novels. On this occasion, this research will discuss the translation of novels from English to Indonesian. Novel is a long prose narrative that deals with human life. In this research, the authors focus on faithful translation found in English novels and translated into indonesian. Focused on analyzing how faithful translation is applied by translators in translating novels using Newmark's theory. Purpose: This research aims to determine faithful translation in the novel City of Fallen Angels In the English-Indonesia Version. Design and methods: The method of this research was a descriptive method, using a quantitative approach. The researcher read the novel in both English and Indonesian as part of the data collection process, and then examined the faithful translation. Results: The results obtained from this research indicate that there are thirty data which are of the faithful translation type. Faithful translation based on these findings it can be concluded that translators maintain grammatical and lexical degrees when translating cultural terms. The translator tries to communicate in the target language according to the story events that occur. The faithful translation method emphasizes the source language, it means trying to produce the contextual meaning of the source language but still with the grammatical structure of the target text.

Background: Reading poetry is an effort to convey the poet's message to his listeners. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the process of learning to read poetry and improve results. Design and methods: This experiment analyzes the improvement of the learning process, including the stages of attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation, as well as the improvement of student learning outcomes when reading poetry in terms of intonation, pronunciation, volume, gestures, and expressions. This research was conducted on Literary Club extracurricular students at SDIT ALIF. The method used in this study is a quantitative experimental method using the video modeling technique of recording a poetry performance by Helvy Tiana Rosa. Data analysis techniques in this study were in the form of videos during which students read poetry, observation sheets, field notes, and student test results in the form of performance tests. In this design, two groups are randomly selected and then given a pretest to find out the difference in the initial state between the experimental group and the control group. Each group that was randomly selected was the same for both the control group and the experimental group, namely 10 people Results: experimental class pretest data with an average of 14.10 while the control class obtained an average of 19.60. From the results of the posttest, it was obtained that the average posttest score of the experimental class was 17.50 and that of the control class was 26.30. Thus, it can be said that the skills of students have increased. However, based on the assessment with this technique, there is an insignificant increase in effect

Background: Children's stories are one of the works of children's literature. Children's literature is literature that is read to children. The content of children's literature is determined by the level of intellectual and emotional development of the child. Purpose: Study this is intended for analyzing conversation transactional which is involved in conversation between characters in story Little Abid. Design and methods: This research use a descriptive-qualitative research method, where this research tries to describe phenomena related to the experiences studied, such as behavior, perceptions, motivation, and so on in a holistic manner. Results: The results of this research shown that the conversations found in Little Abid's book consist of 80% complementary conversations, 0% cross conversations, and 20% hidden conversations. Complementary transactions are complementary events occurring between the same two ego states (attitudes) and can occur between two different but complementary ego states (attitudes). Cross transactions, namely transactions occur when messages sent by the ego state do not receive the correct response or do not receive the response expected by the messenger (communicator). Hidden transactions are complex events involving two or more ego states.

Background: The making of errors in second language acquisition, especially in writing, is natural, but the errors should not be ignored and need to be treated properly. Purpose: The purposes of this descriptive research are to identify the types of errors occured in the narrative writing of first-year students at STIE Port Numbay in Jayapura, explain the causes of the errors and the strategies applied to correct them and to prevent them from happening in the future. Design and methods: This research is a descriptive qualitative one that uses the content analysis method. The data were taken from 20 narrative writings about daily activities made by 20 first-year students of STIE Port Numbay in Jayapura who major in Development Economics and took the English 1 course in the Odd Semester of the 2020/2021 Academic Year. Results: The findings revealed that there are 9 types of error occured i.e. omission, addition, misselection, misordering, blending, misformations, misspellings, sentence errors and semantic errors in lexis. The errors are caused by interference of the first language or interlingual, inadequate mastery of the target language rules or intralingual and limited vocabulary. The strategies for the error correction are direct feedback and exposing the target language use by its native speakers so that the learners can compare it with their own L2 use. To prevent the same errors, the instructor can improve the learners' mastery of the target language rules by using creative and varied teaching methods and materials as well as encouraging the learners to develop the habit of reading English texts in order to improve their vocabulary and to obtain input about the use of English in writing. Keywords: Error analysis, interlingual, intralingual

Background: This research is motivated by the problem of the importance of instilling character values from an early age to grade 2 elementary school students. The title of this study was taken because the researcher wanted to identify the content of character values in the text of fables contained in thematic books on the theme of 7th grade 2 SD based on the Guidelines for Implementation of Character Education as an effort to build student development in education applied by the Ministry of Education and Culture (2011). Background: There is limited evidence on the potential benefits of bilingual medium of instruction (MOI) in sub-Saharan Africa. Purpose: This study examines the association between bilingual MOI and learning outcomes in Senegal and Zambia, analyzes how the association varies among students from different linguistic backgrounds, and estimates how consistent the relational patterns are between the two countries. Design and methods: The study Employs hierarchical linear modelling with PISA for Development 2018 data. Results: Results show that bilingual MOI is negatively associated with reading but not mathematics and science in Senegal, but it is not associated with any of these learning achievement measures in Zambia. However, the association may be positive or negative across student linguistic backgrounds in both countries. Moreover, the relational patterns between the countries may be consistent or inconsistent depending on the measure of learning achievements or whether we consider a direct or indirect relation. Implications of the findings were discussed.

However, the association may be positive or negative across student linguistic backgrounds in both countries. Moreover, the relational patterns between the countries may be consistent or inconsistent depending on the measure of learning achievements or whether we consider a direct or indirect relation.
