Diseases mediated by the immune system are difficult problems to treat such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and other lethal viruses. Infections that occur in normal people are generally brief and rarely leave permanent damage. Treatment of this disease requires an aggressive and innovative approach to the development of new treatments so that it requires the role of immunomodulators to improve the immune system. A substance that acts as an enhancer or immune enhancer can be obtained by using herbs that are efficacious as immunostimulants. One of the herbs used is herbal binara (Artemisia vulgaris L) which has been studied as a potential immunomodulator with high antioxidant activity. Previous research also stated that red shoots (Syzygium oleana) were studied as potential immunomodulators with high antioxidant activity. Several other species such as Syzygium samarangense have 16 flavonoida compounds which show pharmacological immunological activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the content of secondary metabolites of ethanol extract of herbal binara (Artemisia vulgaris L.) with red shoots (Syzygium oleana) and to determine the best dose of extract from the ethanol extract of herbal binara (Artemisia vulgaris L.) with red shoots (Syzygium oleana) can reduce the volume of swelling of mouse feet. Examination of the chemical content of secondary metabolites from the ethanol extract of herbal binara (Artemisia vulgaris L.) with red shoots (Syzygium oleana) is carried out by chemical screening and characterization of simplicia and extract. The method used is the slow type hypersensitivity method. In this test the independent variable is the secondary metabolite of ethanol extract of herb binara (Artemisia vulgaris L.) with red shoots (Syzygium oleana) with four concentrations (50, 100, 200 and 400 mg / kgBB). The positive control used by Stimuno dose is 32.5 mg / kgBB

The Phytochemical screening test to identify secondary metabolites of Saputangan leaves extract (Maniltoa grandiflora (A.Gray) Scheff) showed positive results on phenolic and terpenoid compounds. The reagent used for phenolic screening was 5% FeCl3 and reagent for screening terpenoid was 1% CeSO4 in 10% H2SO4. Antibacterial test was carried out by agar diffusion method on extracts of DMSO Saputangan leaves. Phenolic compound obtained from extract of Saputangan leaves were 36.96 gram where the result was obtained after maceration, partitioning and evaporation processes. Antibacterial of phenolic compound was observed based on inhibitory zone diameters of phenolic compounds formed using paper discs with a diameter of 6 mm. The diameters of the inhibition zone against Escherichia coli bacteria are 8.1; 8.5 and 9.7 mm larger than the diameter of the inhibition zone in Staphylococcus aureus bacteria at 7.3; 7.8 and 8.5 mm. Then it can be stated that DMSO extracts of phenolic compound with concentrations (0.25; 0.50 and 1.00 mg / ml) have antibacterial strength at the medium level where the average inhibition zone of S. aureus bacteria is 7.87 mm and the average inhibition zone in E. coli bacteria is 8.76 mm.

Immunomodulator is a compound that can increaase the imuno system. One of the plants that have immunomodulator’s activity is Waru Leaf (Hibiscus tiliaceus). the purpose of this research was to test the effect of immunomodulator by extract of Waru Leaf ethanol on rat male. The activity of immunomodulator was determined by using digital pletysmometer by measuring the differences between the last leg swelling’s volume and the first leg swelling’s volume. The treatment group were divided into 5 groups. Each group consistof 5 rats CMC-Na 0,5% (negative control), Stimuno® 32,5 mg/kgBW (positive control), dose of EEDW 50, 100 and 200 mg/kgBW, and bacteria E.coli as antigen. The results slowed that distribution of EEDW dose 200 mg/kgBW can give the effect of immunostimulant by swelling enthancement compared by CMC-Na 0,5 %. EEDW 200 mg/kgBW that have activity comparable with Stimuno® 32,5 mg/kgBW. Thus, it is concluded that of Waru Leaf extract has immunomodulator effects on delayed-type hypersensitivity response of rat male.

Sweetmeat is the processing foods preserved with high sugar content. In the manufacture of sweetmeat not only sugar but also added lime, salt, and sulfur-containing compounds. There are two forms of processed products of sweetmeat, namely wet sweetmeat and dry sweeteat. The basic thing that differentiate both is how to make it, lasting power, and design products. This study aims to determine the level of calcium in the sample of fresh guava, ginger, and nutmeg, and to investigate the mineral calcium levels in samples of fresh and processed products as wet sweetmeat and dry sweetmeat. Each sample must first be destructed by dry destruction, then the mineral assay performed with quantitative assay atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS) using a gas burner nitrous oxide-acetylene at a wavelength of 422.7 nm. The advantage of this method is to have a high sensitivity (limit of detection of less than 1 ppm), and the implementation is relatively simple. Calcium levels in samples of fresh guava, ginger and nutmeg in a row each each sample as follows (7.7105 ± 0.1224) mg / 100 g, (14.5232 ± 0.117) mg / 100 g and (38, 8834 ± 0.6996) mg / 100 g. Glucose and sucrose tests are performed as one of honey’s standard quality. Meanwhile the process of honey production by bees itself is a complex process, so there is a high probability of differences in the levels and composition of glucose and sucrose among the types of honey circulating in the community. The composition of glucose and sucrose of each honey can affect its efficacy mainly when it is used for treatment process. The aim of this research is to know glucose and sucrose level in forest honey and compare it with honey’s standard quality according to Indonesian national standard (SNI 01-3545-2013). The samples were 3 forest honey from different village. Sample A is forest honey from Kubu Simbelang Village, Sample B from Bunuraya Village, and Sample C from Suka Village, Tigapanah District. The determination of glucose and sucrose levels was performed by Luff Schoorl method. The result of this study was glucose average level of each sample A, B and C is 71,42%, 66,24%, and 71,21%. The sucrose average levels of sample A, B, and C is 3,09%, 4,51, and 3,04%. It can be stated that all forest honey used in this study has fulfilled the requirements according to SNI 01-3545-2013 which set that glucose level of honey must be at least 65% while the sucrose level is maximum 5%.

The aim of this research is to know glucose and sucrose level in forest honey and compare it with honey’s standard quality according to Indonesian national standard (SNI 01-3545-2013). The samples were 3 forest honey from different village. Sample A is forest honey from Kubu Simbelang Village, Sample B from Bunuraya Village, and Sample C from Suka Village, Tigapanah District. The determination of glucose and sucrose levels was performed by Luff Schoorl method. The result of this study was glucose average level of each sample A, B and C is 71,42%, 66,24%, and 71,21%. The sucrose average levels of sample A, B, and C is 3,09%, 4,51, and 3,04%. It can be stated that all forest honey used in this study has fulfilled the requirements according to SNI 01-3545-2013 which set that glucose level of honey must be at least 65% while the sucrose level is maximum 5%.","PeriodicalId":17717,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Penelitian Farmasi & Herbal","volume":"19 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87991953","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the causes of infection was bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus. Torch ginger has been widely used to treat dwaseases caused by bacteria. Torch ginger has been studied to have antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The purpose of thwas study was to formulate an ointment preparation of ethanol extract of torch ginger and to see if the ointment preparations had antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The research method used in thwas research was experimental True, covering the stages: making of ethanol extract of kecombrang flower with maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent, ointment formulation made with ointment base: vaseline, adeps lanae, and propylene glycol. Made in three concentrations of extracts namely: F I with 100 mg, F II with 200 mg, and F III with 300 mg. Furthermore, the evaluation of the preparation of evaluation of physical stability and homogeneity, and test of antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria with diffusion method to use Kirby odor dwasc paper. The results showed that the ointment had good physical stability and homogeneity for 30 days of storage at room temperature. The antibacterial activity test of the ointment shows that the inhibitory diameter F I has an average of 16.45 mm, F II has an average of 18.60 mm and F III has an average of 21.12 mm. Based on the results obtained it can be concluded that the preparation of the ethanol extract of torch ginger has an inhibitory power to Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. In the next research was expected to pay attention to the growing area of torch ginger and to compare the antibacterial activity between petal flowers and flower seeds using Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

Immunomodulator is a compound that can increaase the imuno system. One of the plants that have immunomodulator’s activity is Herba Binara (Artemisia vulgaris L.). the purpose of this research was to test the effect of immunomodulator by extract of herba binara ethanol on rat male. The activity of immunomodulator was determined by using digital pletysmometer by measuring the differences between the last leg swelling’s volume and the first leg swelling’s volume. The treatment group were divided into 5 groups. Each group consistof 5 rats CMC-Na 0,5% (negative control), Imboost 32,5 mg/kgBW (positive control), dose of EEHB 50, 100, 200 mg/kgBW, and bacteria E.coli as antigen. The results slowed that distribution of EEHB dose 200 mg/kgBW can give the effect of immunostimulant by swelling enthancement compared by CMC-Na 0,5 %. EEHB 200 mg/kgBW that have activity comparable with Imboost 32,5 mg/kgBW. Thus, it is concluded that of herba binara extract has immunomodulator effects on delayed-type hypersensitivity response of rat male.
