ENHANCING STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION THROUGH KAHOOT APPLICATION 应用KAHOOT提高学生的阅读理解能力

Technological innovations can be used to enhance students’ reading skills. Implementing an online tool using Kahoot could be an alternative way to improve students’ reading comprehension. The objectives of the research were to find out (1) whether there was a significant improvement in the  Informatics Engineering students’ reading skills by applying Kahoot or not and (2) whether there was a significant difference in the Informatics Engineering students’ reading skills at Politeknik Sekayu between those who were taught and those who were not or not. The research method was a quasi-experimental design, which involved 50 Informatics Engineering students at Politeknik Sekayu as the sample selected by using purposive sampling. Reading test was used as the technique for collecting the data while paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test were used for analyzing the data. The results imply that the value of t-obtained was 4.987. The significance level was 0.000 with the degree of freedom at 48. Because the t-obtained, 4.987, was higher than t-table 1.667, and the significance level was lower than the alpha value, 0.05. Therefore, there was a significant difference in Informatics Engineering students’ reading skills at Politeknik Sekayu through Kahoot between those who were taught and those who were not. Kahoot significantly improved students’ reading skills, especially in vocabulary, inference, facts and opinions, reference, scanning for detail, and main idea.

DEVELOPMENT HOTS-ORIENTED MS WORD 2019 PRACTICE QUESTIONS ON THE OFFICE AUTOMATION APPLICATION COURSE 面向开发热点的ms word 2019办公自动化应用课程练习题

This paper develops MS Word 2019 practice questions oriented with the HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) on the Office Automation application course. This development research uses the limited ADDIE model, namely Analysis, Design, and Development. The analysis is carried out by identifying problems in the Office Automation application course. Subsequently, the developmental planning of the instrument is carried out. The HOTS-oriented practice questions contain questions in the form of descriptions using indicators of critical thinking, creative thinking, and problem-solving. The data are collected from the assessment of two validation experts using expert validation assessment sheets and responses from 24 students through questionnaires. Data analysis used quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The research results imply that the HOTS-oriented MS Word 2019 practice questions are feasible to use as teaching materials in the Office Automation application course. It is based on the material expert's assessment was 85.6 with a very feasible category and the result of students’ responses was 83.3 with a very feasible category. The assessment aspects of expert validation include aspects of the relationship between the questions and the material, aspects of the question depth with learning outcomes, and aspects of language.

ENVIRONMENTAL CHARACTER OF PROSPECTIVE TEACHERS IN RIAU PROVINCE 廖内省准教师的环境特征

This study aims to describe the differences in the character of caring for the environment between student-teacher candidates who have never taken Environmental Education Courses and have never taken them. The population in this study were prospective teacher students at the Faculty of Teaching and Education, University of Riau, totaling 5,013. The research sample used was 640 people spread over 16 study programs. Data collection techniques used were interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and observation. Then, the data were analyzed using different tests and frequency distributions. The results showed that: (1) the character of caring for the environment for prospective teacher students who had not taken Environmental Education Courses was in the medium category; (2) the character of caring for the environment of prospective students who have taken Environmental Education Courses is in the moderate category. The study concludes that there is no difference in the character of caring for the environment for prospective teacher students who have not taken and have taken Environmental Education Courses.

THE FORMATION OF STUDENTS’ DISCIPLINARY BEHAVIOUR AT SMPN 1 GONDANGWETAN TOWARD DEMOTIVATING LEARNING BEHAVIOUR SMPN 1学生纪律行为的形成与失动力学习行为的关系

This article explains attitude formation programs related to students’ disciplinary behaviour at SMPN 1 Gondangwetan and the efforts made by teachers to motivate students' decreasing learning, especially for students who often violate the rules. This article aims to serve as an example for other schools to improve the quality of students’ discipline, which is followed by a decrease in their learning motivation. The approach used in this article is descriptive qualitative, which produces data in the form of words from the results of transcription and observation. The data source in the research came from students of SMPN 1 Gondangwetan, who had been grouped into several samples, along with interviews with teachers in the discipline context. The data collection techniques of the research were carried out by distributing questionnaires to students, interviewing discipline teachers, and making observations at schools. The research results indicate that there are still violations of the rules committed by students. It needs the role of parents, teachers, and students to realize their significant learning motivation.

STUDENTS' PERCEPTIONS ON THE USE OF QUIZIZZ AS MEDIA FOR EVALUATION OF SOCIAL SCIENCE (IPS) DAILY ASSESSMENTS AT SMP NEGERI 9 MALANG 学生对使用QUIZIZZ作为媒介评估社会科学(IPS)的看法

Advances in information technology have a big positive impact to support educational advancement. One of them is Quizizz evaluation media. The research is based on the students' perceptions of the Quizizz evaluation media as an evaluation medium. It is aimed (1) to find out students' perceptions of whether applying Quizizz is able to reduce students' stress levels when carrying out daily assessments on social science learning subjects, and (2) to find out students' perceptions of the Quizizz's operation practicality as an evaluation medium. The research used a quantitative method and the data collection technique was questionnaires. The research respondents involved class VII students of SMP Negeri 9 Malang. The analytical method used was the frequency distribution analysis method. Thus, the following results indicate that (1) applying Quizizz could be a positive perception of 40.8% in a very good category in order to reduce student’s stress in carrying out daily assessments and (2) an average percentage of applying Quizizz was 29.6% in a pretty good category for operational practicality of media. Based on the research results, it is found that Quizizz was able to reduce students’ stress levels and was quite practical to use.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NUMBERED-HEAD-TOGETHER METHOD TO IMPROVE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS’ LEARNING PROCESS 实施记数法提高小学生的学习过程

This paper discusses the improvement of Class IV students’ learning process at SDN Segeran Kidul Indramayu by applying the Numbered-Head-Together cooperative learning model. The method used is classroom action research (CAR) using Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model for three cycles. The research instruments include student and teacher observation sheets, multiple-choice questions, and documentation. Data analysis includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the research imply that there was an improved learning process followed by significant learning outcomes. There was an increased percentage of students’ learning process at 51% in the first cycle. The increased percentage of students’ learning process in the second cycle was 69.38% with a significant percentage of 18.38% from the first cycle. In the third cycle, students fulfilled the learning process indicator of 84.5% with a significant percentage of 15.12% from the second cycle. This significant percentage was reinforced by the pre-test average score of 46.73 smaller than the post-test average score of 62.82 with a completeness percentage of 21.73%  in the first cycle. The percentage of students’ learning outcomes in the second cycle was 47.82% with an average value of 72.17. The increased percentage was 26.09% based on the student’s learning outcomes in the first cycle. The percentage of students’ learning outcomes in the third cycle was 82.60% with an average value of 82.39. There was a significant percentage of 34.78% based on the student’s learning outcomes in the second cycle. These results have achieved the school’s minimum criteria of mastery learning indicator (KKM) at 75%. Therefore, the Numbered-Head-Together method is effective and able to increase the elementary school students’ learning process, especially at SDN Segeran Kidul Indramayu.

This significant percentage was reinforced by the pre-test average score of 46.73 smaller than the post-test average score of 62.82 with a completeness percentage of 21.73%  in the first cycle. The percentage of students’ learning outcomes in the second cycle was 47.82% with an average value of 72.17. The increased percentage was 26.09% based on the student’s learning outcomes in the first cycle. The percentage of students’ learning outcomes in the third cycle was 82.60% with an average value of 82.39. There was a significant percentage of 34.78% based on the student’s learning outcomes in the second cycle. These results have achieved the school’s minimum criteria of mastery learning indicator (KKM) at 75%. This research was motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of Class VII.C students of SMPN 4 Tambang, Kampar Regency. This study aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes through the application of the Search Solve Create Share learning model (SSCS) Class VII.C students of SMPN 4 Tambang Kampar Regency, which was held for 2 months. The subjects in this study were Class VII.C students of SMPN 4 Tambang, Kampar Regency. The number of students who were used as research subjects was 32 students. The form of research is classroom action research. The research instrument consisted of learning achievement tests and data collection instruments in the form of observation sheets of teacher activities and student activities. Based on the results of data analysis, the average score of learning motivation obtained by students in the pre-cycle was 45.0 while the percentage was 35.2%, the average score increased in the first cycle to 60 while the percentage was 46.7%, and the average score increased significant in cycle II 100.4 while the percentage is 78.5%. it can be concluded that the application of Search Solve Create Share learning (SSCS) can increase students' motivation to learn mathematics in class VII.C SMPN 4 Tambang, Kampar Regency.

This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education Class IX.D students at SMPN 4 Tambang. The purpose of this classroom action research was to describe whether the application of Peer Lessons learning strategies could improve Islamic Religious Education learning outcomes for class IX.D students at SMPN 4 Tambang in the subject of PAI, which was carried out for 1 month. The subjects in this study were Class IX.D students at SMPN 4 Tambang. The number of students who were used as research subjects was 30 students. The form of research is classroom action research. The research instrument consisted of learning achievement tests and data collection instruments in the form of observation sheets of teacher activities and student activities. Based on the results of the discussion and analysis as presented earlier, it can be concluded that through the Peer Lessons learning strategy, it can improve learning outcomes in PAI class students of Class IX.D SMPN 4 Tambang. In pre-cycle with an average of 66.3. Student learning outcomes in cycle I increased with an average of 72.3. Furthermore, in cycle II there was also an increase with an average of 79.5 in the good category. This proves that the Peer Lessons learning strategy can improve student learning outcomes for class IX.D SMPN 4 Tambang.

This research was motivated by the low science learning outcomes of Grade IX.2 students at SMPN 1 Kampa. This study aims to determine whether the use of the Everyone Is A Teacher Here (ETH) strategy can improve science learning outcomes for class IX.2 SMPN 1 Kampa, which was carried out for 2 months. This research is a type of classroom action research (CAR) with the application of the Everyone Is A Teacher Here (ETH) strategy. The research subjects were 25 students of Class IX.2 at SMPN 1 Kampa. The form of research is classroom action research conducted in two cycles and each cycle consists of two meetings, then each cycle consists of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that learning through the implementation of the Everyone Is A Teacher Here (ETH) Strategy can improve student learning outcomes for Class IX.2 at SMPN 1 Kampa. The average student absorption of the subject matter is stated to be high. In the first cycle there were 21 students who got high scores and 2 people got very high scores, and it increased in the second cycle with 9 students who got very high scores. Classically, student learning completeness is declared complete with a percentage of 96.0%.

The Effectiveness of Using Wordwall-Based Learning Media in Increasing Student Learning Activities 使用基于Wordwall的学习媒体增加学生学习活动的有效性

This study aims toanalyze student learning activities using wordwall-based learning media, this research was carried out at PGRI Pekanbaru High School in class X social studies. This study used an experimental approach with  the One Group Pretest Posttest Design model. Data obtained through data on student learning activities were obtained through questionnaires while the use of wordwall learning media data was obtained through observation and analyzed using t-tests and n-gains. The results showed that the use of wordwall learning media was effective in increasing student learning activities. Thus, it is hoped that teachers so that student learning activities are better, they can use this learning media, especially in economics in high school and for subsequent researchers to also be able to conduct the same studies with different subjects.
本研究旨在分析学生使用基于文字墙的学习媒体进行的学习活动,本研究在PGRI Pekanbaru高中的X班社会研究中进行。本研究采用了一组测试前-测试后设计模型的实验方法。通过学生学习活动数据获得的数据是通过问卷获得的,而单词墙学习媒体数据的使用是通过观察获得的,并使用t检验和n增益进行分析。结果表明,使用文字墙学习媒体可以有效地增加学生的学习活动。因此,希望老师们能更好地利用这种学习媒介,尤其是在高中的经济学中,让后续的研究人员也能对不同的科目进行同样的研究。
