The paper proposes new kinematic methods in shaping external and internal buttress thread by milling with a single-disk tool according to the scheme with crossing axes of the thread and the general position tool using two angles of its rotation. The range of the thrust threads standard sizes was established, which implied technological possibility of milling using the proposed kinematic methods with one tool standard size. Accuracy of the buttress thread according to GOST 10177-82 was studied on the basis of geometric simulation of shaping kinematics, and values of the maximum geometric error and the error in the average diameter were determined depending on the tool rotation angles and geometric parameters. For the accepted standard sizes of the buttress threads, values of rotation angles of the thread cutter rotation axis and parameters of its working part were found, which makes it possible to shape the thread with a degree of accuracy corresponding to GOST 25096–82.

The paper studies technology issues of verification processes in regard to the software systems 3D numerical simulation using topological optimization of the particular product and its influence on the efficiency of a certain kind of components. Numerical simulation made it possible to construct a solid model of the selected component with the set boundary conditions in several of the most popular analysis programs in the automated engineering calculations environment. A finite element model was created for each stage of the calculation. Results of topological optimization were compared with various digital products. Advantages and disadvantages of the selected software systems were highlighted.

Relevance of the article is caused by the need to replace petroleum diesel fuel with fuels produced from alternative raw materials. Natural gas is considered as a promising alternative fuel. Advantages of using natural gas as the gas motor fuel in the internal combustion engines are shown. Main problems are considered that arise when adapting internal combustion engines to this type of fuel and ways to solve them. Possibility of improving indicators of the fuel efficiency and the exhaust gases toxicity when converting an internal combustion engine to the natural gas is indicated. It is concluded that using the gas-diesel engines running on natural gas and igniting by an ignition dose of the petroleum diesel fuel is a promising solution. The electronic fuel supply control system developed for the gas-diesel engines is described. The technique for calculating the fuel supply by the developed electronic fuel supply control system is provided.

The article considers method of calculating the rate of wear, ageing and resistance of the hard alloyed grooving cutters with the wear-resistant coatings on the example of machining workpieces made of corrosion-resistant steel. Polynomial equations were used characterizing the drop in hardness of the wear-resistant coatings as a function of temperature. Limiting value of the linear wear along the back surface of the coated hard alloyed cutters was obtained. Wear and resistance dependences on cutting speed, thickness and width of the cut layer were calculated. It was shown that cutting speed for the hard alloyed cutters with the wear-resistant coatings could be increased by 2–3 times compared to the tool speed without coatings. Limiting values of speed and cutting temperature were determined providing resistance of at least 10 minutes.

The paper presents technological and cost studies aimed at substantiating selection of technical and technological solutions in the coal bed methane liquefaction projects on the example of Naryksko-Ostashkinskoye and Taldinskoye methane-coal deposits in Kuzbass. Required capacity of the coal bed methane liquefaction plant is substantiated taking into account phasing of the capacity commissioning. Results of technological calculation of the preferred cycles of the coal bed methane liquefaction, as well as estimate of the cost of the main technological equipment of the compared options, are presented. It is concluded that it is necessary to adapt the initial deposit development project to the schedule for commissioning capacities of the coal bed methane liquefaction, and that using the SMR cycle is preferable.

The paper considers problem of joint cargo transfer by a pair of manipulators. In accordance with the compliant control paradigm, a solution is proposed that includes the force feedback counteracting the increase in forces in the load-manipulator system. Using tensor representation and screw calculus, the one-dimensional problem is generalized to the multidimensional case. Computer model of the system under study was built and computational experiments were carried out using the Gazebo robotic simulation package. The results obtained confirm the prospects of the position force approach to solving the group control problems.

The paper presents the results of ballistic experiments to study the possibility of reducing the drag of small-sized aircraft, for example, bullets of the Match type for pneumatic weapons by upgrading their shape. The authors proposed the creation of a through cylindrical channel along the longitudinal axis, which ensures the flow of gas from the high-pressure zone in front of the bullet head to the low-pressure zone in the tail track. 5 types of bullet modifications with channels of different diameters are considered. The studies were carried out both with the admission of reversible air flow at the time of the shot, and with its exclusion. As a result, positive effects were identified for certain variants and a decrease in drag of the proposed modifications was estimated.

Increase in the service life and noise reduction in pumps is an important area in modern pump engineering. An attempt was made to introduce conjugate calculations in verifying correct operation of the mathematical model as the first step and identifying the main oscillation frequencies of the pump housing subsequently. The FSI interface was used in conjugate calculations at the boundary between liquid and solid media. The obtained oscillation signals were analyzed using the Fourier analysis to identify the main parasitic frequencies in the pump. It was expected that the main parasitic frequency would be the blade frequency. As a result of calculations, it became possible to verify correct operation of the mathematical model by applying it to the simplest model of a glass, which behavior could be easily explained. The mathematical model was tested on cantilever and multistage pumps, demonstrated good results and made it possible to establish that blade frequency was the main oscillation frequency.

Relevance of the article is determined by the need to replace petroleum diesel fuel with motor fuels obtained from the alternative raw materials. Natural gas is considered as the promising alternative fuel. Using the DIESEL-RK software package, computational studies were made of the diesel fuel ignition dose effect on the operation process of the 6 ChN 31.8/33 locomotive gas-diesel engine. The engine diesel and its gas-diesel cycles with the ignition dose of diesel fuel equal to 5, 10, 15 and 20% were determined. Differences in the efficiency values ??of the diesel engine under study with alteration in the diesel fuel ignition dose were not exceeding 2.7%. Diesel engine conversion to the gas-diesel cycle made it possible to significantly reduce the smoke from exhaust gases (to 90%), as well as the specific mass emissions with the exhaust gases of nitrogen oxides (to 18%) and carbon dioxide (to 23%). Expediency of changing the diesel fuel ignition dose of a gas-diesel engine with alteration in the speed and load modes of its operation was noted.

Experimental studies of the saline deposits effect on heat transfer were generalized, and a new criterion equation was obtained for conditions of the saline solution natural convection.
