This paper proposes a novel approach by combining Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm with Weighted Additive Fuzzy Goal Programming (WAFGP) to solve multi-objective optimal power flow problem using multi-type FACTS devices. The Optimal power flow problem (OFF) is formulated by combining two conflicting objectives; maximize load ability and minimize real power losses of an existing system network within the security margins. Line Stability Index (LSI) is used to determine the critical lines in which the FACTS devices be inserted to enhance the performance of the system. Among the various FACTS controllers, Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) and Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) are chosen and modeled for steady state studies. In this proposed approach, first the load ability and real power losses are optimized individually by optimal placement and control parameter settings of FACTS devices using DE algorithm. Then WAFGP is used to combine this multi-objective OPF (MOPF) problem into single standard nonlinear OPF problem. Finally optimal solution is obtained with the help of DE algorithm. This proposed approach is tested on IEEE 30 bus system and the results are used to validate the performance of the approach.

The basic mode of transportation for limited distances is mainly through road ways. As the problem of urban traffic congestion spreads, there is a pressing need for the introduction of advanced technology and equipment to improve the state-of-the-art traffic control. Traffic problems nowadays are increasing because of the growing number of vehicles and the limited resources provided by current infrastructures. Due to this, there is a need to wait for more time in front of the signals. This leads to waste of time. In concern with this problem, we have designed a paper that will help the people in taking the alternate routes in times of long traffic In the proposed method, vehicles count in the traffic is detected using image processing techniques. A camera will be installed along with the traffic light on the signalling post It will capture the image sequences. The image of an empty road is taken as the reference image and background subtraction is performed with the captured image to detect the traffic density. The vehicles on the captured road images will be counted. The vehicles count is updated in the SQL server through RF signals. Unique code win be assigned to the local server. By sending message to that code providing the name of the signal area, its traffic detail will be sent to the corresponding user. According to the received message from the signal area, people choose heir alternate way for their timely reach to their job or occasion. This will be used for all the local area working people. This reduces the waiting time in the traffic signals when the vehicles count is higher. The paper results in reducing the waiting time in the traffic signals as the traffic is set according to the traffic density. Hence the traffic movement will be smooth.

This paper deals with comparison of the Non-isolated boost converter and push-pull converter. Here 48V DC is converted into AC with high frequency and it is stepped up. The aim of this work is to obtain the comparative analysis of non-isolated and push-pull converter by simulating the converter. The push-pull converter has advantages like reduced switching losses, stresses and EMI. The power output of push-pull converter seems to be of high value compared to the non-isolated boost converter. The simulation results of Non-isolated converter and Push-Pull converter was compared, shows that output power of push-pull converter is greater than non-isolated converter.

This paper presents a novel method for human eye detection of color images based on modified Harris corner detection algorithm. The face detection from human face images is first performed using Cb component of YCbCr color space to detect eyes. Secondly, Harris corner detector is applied on a morphologically pre-processed extracted human face to detect eyes using only two arbitrary corner points (one corner point for one eye). This study is found to yield 88% eye detection rate which is comparable with the same obtained by other standard algorithm.

In this paper, recursive multi-way principal component analysis (MPCA) is applied to the batches of chromium sludge recycling process for the detection of faults without false alarms. The data matrix is being augmented sample wise to reflect the process changes in MPCA. Multivariate statistical process control (MVSPC) techniques; Hotelling's T and squared prediction error; Q, based on PCA have facilitated the analysis of successful and unsuccessful batches. The results have shown that the faults were very quickly identified.

Cloud computing is one of today's most exciting technologies due to its ability to reduce costs associated with computing while increasing flexibility and scalability for computer processes. Cloud computing is Internet-based computing, whereby shared resources, software and information, are provided to computers and devices on-demand, like the electricity grid. It aims to construct a perfect system with powerful computing capability through a large number of relatively low-cost computing entities, and using the advanced business models. The construction of on-premises application platform into cloud environment with limited foundations, infrastructure and application services. The Integration of cloud platform architecture and on-premises platform together is an enormous reform on building a huge environment on today's cloud computing environment SOA is a set of services and advocate the principles of component reuse and well defined relationship between a service provider and service consumer. This article introduces the background, services and service model of cloud computing and overlapping of SOA and cloud computing.

In distribution system reducing losses is an important issue during planning and operation because of its technical and economical implications. This paper presents the study of impact of variation in voltage and power factor on power loss in radial and loop type of feeders in the distribution system. The comparison is made in change in loss between radial type and closed-loop type feeders. The line losses are calculated for two different radial feeders, then the feeders are connected with tie line to form the closed loop feeder and losses are calculated. The change in the voltage profile when changed from radial to loop type is evaluated and compared. The impact of upgrading the radial system to loop system on the power loss reduction studied. Various loss reduction techniques discussed. The advantages of system running in the closed loop type over radial are studied and explored the possibility of such systems in the local area at primary distribution voltage level (33 K V). The impact on the system for this conversion is explored.

Digital mammograms are difficult images to interpret. Data clustering plays a very crucial role in automatic detection of clustered calcifications in digital mammograms. The aim of this paper is to review and compare the performance of the three main data clustering techniques namely K-means clustering, Fuzzy C-Means clustering and Subtractive clustering. The digital mammograms for the study are taken from Mammographie Image Analysis Society (MIAS) digital mammogram database. The contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE) method is used to reduce noise in digital mammograms. The Gray Level co-occurrence Matrices (GLCM) for different distances and angles are constructed. The performance results of the clustering techniques based on mean square errors are tabulated and compared. It was found that the Subtractive clustering technique outperforms the other two techniques.

The point of common coupling voltage during sag condition resulting due to a fault occurring on the parallel feeder in a distribution system evidently shows good dynamic response of the DVR achieved through the sweep mode control. It can also be observed that usage of sweep mode control to DVR eliminates the additional sag detection and makes the DVR multifunctional, such as the same control can be used to compensate any variation in the supply voltage.
