This article aims to compare the technical efficiency between two irrigation systems: traditional flooding and drip irrigation in watermelon production in Tra Vinh province, thereby recommending a more efficient farming model. This paper uses descriptive statistics, SFA and multivariable regression based on primary datacollected from 160 farmers applying these two irrigation models in Cau Ngang and Duyen Hai districts. The study found that the cost of plant variety, the amount of phosphorus, costs for post-harvesting, labor and irrigation affected the productivity of watermelon in the traditional flooding irrigation model; whereas the amount of potassium, the amount of phosphorus and cost of plant variety were factors affecting the productivity of watermelon in the drip irrigation model. Theresults also showed that producers applying the drip irrigation model achieved higher technical efficiency. The average efficiency levels achieved were 79,47% and 86,03% in the traditional flooding irrigation and drip irrigation respectively. In addition, the factors affecting the income of farmers in the traditional flooding irrigation model included household labor, loans, the amount of phosphorus, the amount of potassium, and cost of pesticides and irrigation. Meanwhile, the income of farmers in the drip irrigation model was affected by education, training, costs for post-harvesting and loans.

The study of rice eel farming (Monopterus albus Zuiew, 1793) in the recirculation system is to find out a suitable model for rice eel growth and contribute to responding to climate change. The average length and weight of the rice eels were 22.28 ± 0.21 cm/inds and 14.65 ± 0.48 g/inds, respectively. The experiment was conducted with two treatments: the control treatment and the recirculation treatment; each of them was repeated 3 times in 180 days. Rice eel was fed with 80% fresh trash fish and 20% pelleted pellets with 30% protein. The results showed that the environmental factors such as temperature, pH, N-NH3-, N-NO2- and alkalinity were in suitable range for rice eel growth during the experiment. The survival rate was not different between the two treatments. Weight growth rate in the recirculation system (97.70 ± 9.04 g/inds) was higher than the control (80.67 ± 0.16 g/inds) (p<0,05). Feed conversion ratio (FCR) in two treatments was not different with 2.49 ± 0.05% and 2.41 ± 0.22%. The amount of water was added in recirculation system (3.12 m3/tank) during 180 days only 1/10 compared with thecontrol (32.8 m3/tank). These results showed that the recirculation system was perfectly suited for the growth and development of rice eel.

On the one hand, the adoption of managerial accounting in business is determined by corporate governance; on the other hand, it is also dependent on business environment and firm characteristic. Nonetheless, so far the causal relationships from corporate governance, business environment and firm characteristic to the adoption of managerial accounting in business have not been empirically explored in Vietnam. This research is conducted to investigate the simultaneous effects of corporate governance, business environment and firm characteristic on the adoption of managerial accounting in business. This study employs reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis and regression analysis to deal with the data. The findings indicate that, corporate governance, business environment and firm characteristic concurrently affect the adoption of managerial accounting in business.

The article presents an optimal method to cut rod materials. By this method, the relative functions between the number of products cut from the given materials and conditions are first established. Then, the powerful computing capabilities of Mathematica software are applied to solve the problems. This method has a wide range of application and is convenient in use.

In software maintenance, bug reports play an important role in the correctness of software packages. Unfortunately, the duplicatebug report problem arises because there are too many duplicate bug reports in various software projects. Handling with duplicate bug reports is thus time-consuming and has high cost of software maintenance. Therefore, this research introduces a detection scheme based on the extended class centroid information (ECCI) to enhance thedetection performance. This method is extended from the previous one, which used only centroid method without considering the effects of both inner and inter class. Besides, this method also improved the previous use of normalized cosine in identifying the similarity between two bug reports by denormalized cosine. The effectiveness of ECCI is proved through the empirical study with three open-source projects: SVN, Argo UML and Apache. The experimental results show thatECCI outperforms other detection schemes by about 10% in all cases.

Research on "Current state Analysis and Influential Factors of Biotechnological Development in Aquaculture in Dong Thap Province" aims to evaluate the current situation and potential of biotechnological development in aquaculture production in order to make a scientific basis for the building of research programs and biotechnological applications in the aquaculture sector of Dong Thap province from 2016 to 2020 with a vision to 2030 by surveying 75 samples. Methodologies of descriptive statistical analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were used with SPSS software. Besides, SWOT analysis and consultancy of experts were made at three workshops. The results show that the areas of biotechnology that needed to promote applied research in the aquaculture sector were disease prevention, aquacultural technology and environmental treatment. In order to develop biotechnology, a breakthrough strategy needed to be implemented in Dong Thap province as follows: (i) Increased investment in a number of key laboratories; (ii) Development of "4 Houses" linkages in research, transfer and application of biotechnology; (iii) Human resources development in biotechnology. Proposed action plans: (i) Center construction, Institute of biotechnology in Cao Lanh city; (ii) Human resources training for biotechnology; (iii) Application of biotechnology in aquaculture to be implemented from 2016 to 2020 with a vision to 2030 to improve the efficiency of biotechnological application for rural and socio-economic development in Dong Thap province in the future.

The Mekong Delta is the largest granary in the country, providing food not only for the region, but also for national food security and exports. However, household food security in the region is not yet guaranteed, a large number of households are unable to afford enough food. In order to provide a practical basis for ensuring household food security in the Mekong Delta, the questionnaire for data collection on 300 respondents was used. Exploratory factor and multivariate linear analysis were used for the data analysis. The results revealed that there are seven groups of factors influencing food security by the decreasing order including (1) market, traffic and mechanization, (2) farm land size and manpower of the household, (3) storage, (4) four houses linking, (5) state policies, (6)production planning and customs, and household food distribution, (7) natural conditions.

According to the survey of 162 farm households in Tra Vinh province, this article compares and evalutes the economic efficiency of the crop conversion model (from rice to vegetable). The results show that the incomes of these farm households were 3 times higher than those of rice farm households, approximately 5.7 million VND/0.25 acre /year. In addition, the regression analysis was applied in this study to identify and quantify the factors influencing the economic efficiency of the conversion model. The results confirm the interaction between vegetable crops, rice – vegetable rotational crops, labor cost, age and the ethnicity of householders. In particular, the households’ awareness of climate change has a positive impact on the economic efficiency of the model. Finally, the research suggests some solutions to the improvement of the economic efficiency of the crop conversion model which adapts to climate change.

Cordyceps sinensis has traditionally been used in traditional Chinese medicine. However, C. sinensis has very low mass production and only grows in natural environment, whereas the fruiting bodies of Cordyceps militaris can be successfully farmed in cereals. C. militaris contains similar biochemical components as C. sinensis as well as the anticancer component cordycepin. This study is to investigate the effect of temperature, light intensity, milling of silkworm pupae supplemented with brown rice medium and silkworm pupae age on fruiting bodies of C. militaris. The optimal temperature for the formation of fruiting bodieswas 25oC, under conditions of 500 lux lighting. A bottle with 50 g of brown rice supplemented with 50 ml of distilled water and 5 g of milling silkworm pupae produced 20,11 fruiting bodies with the weight of 10.14 g, Cordycepin and Adenosine obtained were 10.08 mg/g and 0.57 mg/g, respectively. From mounting, the nine-dayold pupae showed the best incidence of infection and development of fruiting bodies of C. militaris with 1.69 fruiting bodies/pupae.
