The development of economic, culture and society has fetched many opportunities and challenges for students of universities in the current period. Employers require not only skilled human resources but also ability to adapt to a volatile, constantly changing and developing working environment. This fact requires students to have a basic change from thinking to action. Along with specialized knowledge, universities should aim to strengthen the integration of training soft skills for students to meet the requirements of employers. By analytical method, the article focuses on clarifying the situation, difficulties and challenges, thereby proposing a number of solutions to improve efficiency and enhance the implementation of integrating soft skills in teaching the specialized knowledge in University. The paper focuses on clarifying the situation, difficulties and challenges, thereby proposing solutions for improving the efficiency, enhancing the implementation of integrating soft skills in teaching specialized knowledge at universities.

In the integration and development period, training students, which probably meets the urgent requirements of the companies, businesses in professional and soft skills, is becoming a challenge for all universities as well as for the teachers. To accomplish these requirements, CDIO-based training program not only requires students in criteria about knowledge, skills, and behaviors but also be an expert in the technical design process: conceive, design, implement and operate the systems in the entrepreneurial, social and environmental background. Therefore, how can students be skilled in both soft skills and specialist knowledge, but still meet the CDIO requirements? Based on these things, the authors propose solution to integrate soft skills into teaching specialized knowledge through project-basedbusiness method which helps students satisfy specialized knowledge and soft skills directly related to future careers, and meet CDIO requirements.

Currently, at Tra Vinh University as well as other universities in Vietnam, lecturers mostly focus on professional teaching without paying much attention to training soft skills for students such as teamworking, problem solving, interpersonal communication skills, ... In addition, students are only interested in learning how to become an engineer, an accountant or a doctor without training soft skills or just studying in compulsory form, and lack of depth investment. Lacking soft skills that lead the graduates facing a lot of trouble in their professional life. In the higher education system, graduates can have a good practice in career, can design a machine, can have good programming skill, can develop a model of growth economy but they can hardlycommunicate, work in groups or solve problems effectively. For solving this problem, the Department of Information Technology has developed a curriculum based on the CDIO approach, but there are still many issues to be improved. In this paper, the authors introduce solutions to integrate soft skills in professional teaching, specifically in teaching specialized subjects at the Department of Information Technology, School of Engineering and Technology, Tra Vinh University.

One critical measurement of success in workplaces is the abilities of graduates in applying the knowledge, skills and values into the needs of their job. This study was conducted to seek the gap of soft skills of Tra Vinh University students compared to labour-market standard. The quantitative data was collected at School of Economics and Law with a sample of 362 students and 300 graduates to measure their soft skills. Generally, both students and graduates are still unconfident of their own soft skills, this affacts their self-affirmation. Moreover, the importance of soft skills is also acknowledged, namely critical thinking, problem-solving, selflearning, work-management skills and teamwork as well as communication skills which need to beprioritized equipped for any kinds of workplaces. Nonetheless, the aforementioned skill gap is significantly remarkable, especially regarding the communication skills. Based on these analyzes, some solutions are proposed to the work recruitment, schools and graduates to lessen the skill gap and meet the demands of labour markets.

The "4.0 industrial revolution" brings many opportunities and challenges not only for the Vietnam’s economy, but also for the tourism industry. Thereby, a set of urgent issues of the importance of soft skills and solutionsfor integration of soft skills in training tourism human resources were set up. Along with the 4.0 industrial revolution, the development of cognitive thinking and adaptability to the working environment are essential elements. In order to do that, besides gaining professional knowledge, engaging in education and experiences, students need to be flexible equiped appropriate soft skills for job applications. A desk review method and a reality survey were conducted to clarify the characteristics and roles of soft skills in training human resources for tourism in the challenging conditions of the 4.0 industrial revolution. From this, recommendations and solutions were proposed to integrate soft skills in training tourism human resources in the 4.0 revolutionary era.

This paper presents an integratedskill approach of using oral presentations as an interactive teaching tool in non-English major classrooms, specifically in the context of Tra Vinh University. This paper has the following sections: (1) introducing the context of teaching and learning English and the factors affecting students’ speaking ability in Vietnam and in several other countries; (2) presenting the benefits of integrating oral presentation in the classroom; (3) proposing suggestions that help EFL teachers to apply this approach effectively. The result shows that four main factors, which affect students’ speaking ability, are a lack of topical knowledge, low self-esteem, limited chances of practice and the overuse of mother tongue. By giving presentation, students have a higher level of confidence, speak correctly, use more vocabularies, and develop other language skills as well as soft-skills. However, teachers need to instruct students clearly; reduce pressure on student grades and make effective feedback to individual. Besides, students need encouragement to create dynamic learning environment. It is hoped that the pedagogical ideas presented in this paper can help teachers effectively employ oral presentations as a means of improving students’ English speaking ability.

In the era of development, companies and businesses require graduates have to meet specialized skill as well as research skill, job adaptability and soft skills. However, most graduated students only meet specialized skill, while soft skills and research skills are slow to adapt, this leads to the re-training after the businesses recruitment. To overcome these difficulties, the article focused on analyzing the importance and reality of scientific research of Tra Vinh University students. On that basis, the author proposed solutions for improving scientific research in students in order to integrate soft skills training in a practical, effective and consistent with the educational development trend in the new age.

This article analyzes essential conditions for integrating soft skills into teaching specialized knowledge. The data was surveyed on 529 college and university level students from 1st to 4th year of five faculties at Tra Vinh University. The results show that there are 401 students (76%) agreing that the number of a soft skills class with 15 to 25 students is appropriate; Besides, in order to organize students’ interest in learning soft skills and learning effectively, teachers need to combine many methods and means: lectures, projectors, group activities, pictures, photos, tables (rate of 46%) and organized outdoor classes account for 47%; teaching methods and teaching equipments relatively meet students’ learning needs.

Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and automation in electrical system is a specialized subject in the Electrical and Electronics Technology training program of Tra Vinh University (TVU). In this article, we explore and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of traditional teaching method and apply the integration of soft skills into teaching SCADA and automation in electrical system subject at TVU to improve students’ soft skills, motivate students to study more proactively as well as help them to have more opportunities for expressing their own understanding. The teaching method mentioned in this paper has been done by the author during the lectures in the classes for regular university level students in the Electrical System major from 2016 onwards.
